Terrible Service. Arrived Scratched.

When opening the product in front of the delivery driver he immediately gasped as he saw the massive scratch/gouge in the carbon fiber piece right out of the box. Customer service was absolutely terrible. They tried to refund me like $35 on a $250 order. I requested a new piece be sent and here I am 4 months later still waiting.

Jonathan Martens of Centreville, Virginia is a scammer. Unfortunately, Trustpilot does not allow us to attach the photos provided by this individual.
He sent us a photo showing a very light scratch that would normally be easy to buff out ( we offered him a 20% discount on this $175 part), but he insisted that the fender be replaced. We put one into production and once it was ready, asked him to send us proof of destruction of the offending fender. He sent us a photo of a broken plastic fender with carbon wrap on it. To humor him, we asked him to send us a photo of the underside with the manufacturing sticker on it. Of course, he doesn't send it and proceeds to post this review.

Horrible attitude

I been ordering for last few years from Moto-composite. Lately there attitude and customer service has been horrendous with harsh attitude on the phone when I call to verify parts in stock it’s a norm for me to do that before I order . I don’t know under new owner ship or that just lost their mojo.

I spoke to the customer service manager that handled your call. When someone asks us to check availability or shipping cost of a part, we are generally able to do so immediately. However, whenever there is a list of parts, we ask customers for the specific SKUS which we can then handle quickly and efficiently. Too often we have found customers providing incomplete or erroneous verbal requests resulting in confusion and wasted time and effort. Thanks for understanding.

got carbon tank pieces that were not…

got carbon tank pieces that were not even close to fitting. they make it almost impossible to return and havent contacted me back in 2 weeks. i bought another item that kind of fit so i cant call it a scam of a company but its as close as you can get.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. Will send you damaged goods and offer no refund nor replacements.

"Since this company wishes to make themselves look bad with their reply"

I sent several pictures of proof that there was damage to the part they sent me. They requested "please destroy the fender for a refund", in which I did, I threw it in the garbage for it to be destroyed.

Once I did, I got a reply back "Send us proof it was destroyed". How am I supposed to send proof that a part was destroyed when it's been taken to a landfill?

This is proof that the company doesn't care about their customers nor honest practices. I spent over $500 with this company and all they care about is themselves and scamming their customers. Hope everyone finds this helpful.

REALLY DISAPPOINTED

I ordered a rear fender and two blinker housings for my BMW R1100S on June 6. I received an email telling me the fender was in stock but the blinker housings were not and, "While currently backordered, the following item(s) is (are) currently in production in the desired configuration and will be allocated to your order should you wish to wait over an expected average completion time of two to four weeks."

I received the items on August 29th - that's two and a half months during which I never received any communication from Motocomposites regarding my order. (I had to email them). Several days later, I tried to fit the rear fender. It was twisted so badly that I had to use 1/4" of shims on the rear mounting hole to get it to NOT rub the back tire. I also had to file both mounting holes because they were too small. I communicated this to Motocomposites immediately - with pictures - and they told me my tire was too big. I told them that the tire size is not the issue - I can get the tire to not rub if I use 1/4" of shims on the rear mounting hole, but obviously I can't drive it that way. A few more emails and after telling them that I wanted a replacement, they said that there were no replacements - that the "factory" wasn't making anymore. They told me that if I wanted my money back, I would have to destroy the fender I have and send them a video of the destruction. I've built many motorcycles with many parts from every country on earth, and I have never been asked to videotape myself destroying a part to get a refund.

Two weeks later I tried to fit the two blinker housings. They weren't even close to fitting. 80% of the holes don't line up and the housings are missing a mount at one end of the housing. I know that not everything will fit an older motorcycle exactly and that some fitment is necessary, but neither one of these housings was even close to fitting.

I sent Motocomposites 2 emails this week asking for a refund. I offered to send the parts back to them at my expense and so far they have ignored me.

From their website: "Fitment is warrantied and we strive to ensure 100% satisfaction."

That is not my experience so far. I'm out $500 if Motocomposites refuses to stand behind their products and not do the right thing.

UPDATE: received this from Motocomposites today,"Customer was asked to send photos of the problems which we have yet to receive."
They sent that request for the photos this morning. I didn't see that email until 2 hours ago.

They also sent, "As a sidenote, In the description of the product, it is indicated that the rear hugger was designed for a 170 width tire. The customer admittedly has a 180 width tire"

If Motocomposites had bothered to do any research on the R1100S, they would know that the bike came with two rear wheel width options: 170 width (5") and 180 width (5.5"). So now they are punishing me for having the width that they couldn't be bothered to include when they made the rear fender.

I will send them the photos of the non-fitting blinker housings that I wish to return today. Here's what they said about their "factory", "Once photos are received, the factory's engineers will analyze. It is possible that the molds have reached then of their lifespans after 30 years but we won't know until we have proof."

If their molds are going bad, isn't it up to either the "factory" or Motocomposites to check that BEFORE they send out their products? Jeez... is a little quality control that much to ask?

Ordered multiple carbon parts, I was told 4 to 6 weeks for two of these parts, 6 months later, still waiting. Buy your carbon parts somewhere else.

Customer service was pretty good

Customer service was pretty good. I've ordered two parts from them. One was a small part that covered the sprocket. It was good. I ordered a front fender. The finish quality not so good. On the left side edge does not look right. The screwholes that hold on defender. Look Opec white inside. I don't know if it was a build up of the clear or what. Definitely does not look good. Very limited on my model of bike what they carry. They seem to carry a lot of fifteen and sixteen and some seventeen years.. Not updating your inventory as far as years. My bike is a two thousand eighteen slim selection.

Ordered a carbon swinging arm cover…

Ordered a carbon swinging arm cover from them as I had used them before for a Aprilia gen1 seat cowl. Asked if it was in stock got a positive reply back within 24hrs, and item was received 4 days before estimated delivery time here in Scotland.The cover fits perfectly onto bike so twice I have used them and both times I have had zero issues with delivery or the quality of the item..

Used to be a good place to buy decent…

Used to be a good place to buy decent quality and priced carbon fiber for your bike. Fast service and turn around times.
Placed another order with them about 2 months ago, totally different situation now. Waited and waited for my parts to arrive, sent emails... nothing. Finally called and canceled my order and asked for a refund. They were like "fine" and hung up. Guess somebody new running the company or they were bought out.
I can not recommend these guys better off going somewhere else for your carbon needs.

We very much appreciate your business over the past six years. Unfortunately, we were backordered on some of the parts that you ordered. This was due to the factory that we contract out the production of these parts to being in the process of moving to new premises, delaying everything by at least a month. There has been no change in our ownership or management. We have had numerous cancellations due to this delay and our representative did not mean to be discourteous in acquiescing your cancellation request.

Good price for quality parts

I was a bit concerned by reviews in regards to communication, but my emails were responded to in less than a day, and when I called for another update. The person I talked to was able to answer my questions and was very cool. The parts I ordered were very well made and fit without issues. I can't say that for the bellypan I ordered from a highly regarded company in Germany.
I was very pleased with my interaction with the company.

2004 Yamaha Fz1 faring parts.

I can only speak for my self, with that being said, I think it's a great company. I made my order and they shipped the next day. I live in Los Angeles, California, USA and got here not problem.
I would definitely buy from them again.

Some things I learned while dealing…

Some things I learned while dealing with this company:

All products are listed as “in stock” — even when they’re not. After placing your order, they’ll email you saying certain items are unavailable and ask you to pick alternatives. That’s straight-up misleading.

Customer support sucks — strictly email-only. Try calling? They’ll just tell you to email. No urgency, no accountability, just a runaround.

I dropped over $1100 on carbon fiber fairings for my 2024 BMW S1000RR. They look good from a distance, but up close, there are visible spots with no carbon weave. Fitment? Not even close to OEM. I had to fight the thing the entire install. And if you’re doing it solo? Good luck — it’s a pain in the ass.

Shipping was fast — next business day from Canada to the U.S., and everything was packed well. That’s the only reason this even gets one star.

And get this — they claimed my review was fake. Yeah, seriously. I used a different name because I don’t post personal info publicly, and somehow that means I’m not a real customer? What a joke. Just goes to show how deep in denial this company really is. What a shame — this bike deserves way better

Unprofessional and embarrassing customer service.

Unfortunately I cannot put pictures about the problems.
After a conversation that I had at the phone with someone from this business, this is my reply to them trough email where I explain what happened, wich I told them one day before too, but at the phone they didn’t want to LISTEIN any complain from a customer, wich he lost a lot of time from their lack of customer service.

Thank you for your reply, as our conversation that we had at the phone, I do not respect your decision but I accept it.
I do not respect it because you made two mistakes as I said, the first time because you did not specify that after $300 you require a signature, if the customers knows in advance they can organize for that, and this made me waste 90 (back and forth) minutes of my time trying to reach the truck driver since I am never at home to give you this signature that you require but again, if let the customer know about that, they will address the situation in a different way.
90 minutes of my time and the gas for the car.
The second is that you publish something on your website that does not correspond to reality wich you can find online for $80 less than your, and you most likely buy from these companies and then resell them with the due up charge.
I didn’t buy the one for 180 but I bought your instead for 250$ with certain specs, also because I bought severals thing from you in the years.
Now I have to drive another 25 minutes to send back the product?
In the country where I live, “sorry” sometimes is not enough FYI.
You make unpleasant situation to experience to the customers.
Specially because maybe you don’t remember me, but I am the one who six years ago sent you the original aluminum heat shield cover for the exhaust of the lower part of the 2019 speed triple, because at the time you still were selling on your website (another mistake) the wrong item from the previous model and once again, you had made a mistake in sending it to me back in 2019
I sent you that piece so you then developed the right carbon part for the 2019 Speed ​​triple on my piece which had different attachment points from the 2016-17 model and you didn’t even check if the parts was the same for the 2018-20 models.
I never got that original piece for the 2019 speed back from you so 140$ plus taxes lost but I never complained about it FYI.
After these situation and your lack of common of sense in trying to understand what’s the customer faced with you, the label for the return of the package does not fix the situation that one of your customers, who also promotes your company on his Facebook page, had to face with your negligence from moment 1 to moment 2.

You also told me at the phone “we don’t adjust our price with the others competitors”….that’s nothing to do with that or your competitors, that was a way to repair on your miatakes and adjusting the price since I can find the same product for less, it was a way to apologize for your mistakes.
You are not open to negotiation despite having failed in the entire customer service process and that’s the problem because if you had send only the wrong item, who care it’s ok, but looking back to the years, the signature thing, my OEM part that I send you to develope the piece lost from your team, the waste of time that I had due your mistake, now is a matter of principal.

That wa stage email, for whoever is gonna reply from your company, there’s no excuses for your behavior, giving me the return label it doesn’t cancel your lack of customer service, organization.
Also change the dam pictures on your web site because ppl are expecting to buy whatever they see, and let the customers know that after 300$ a signature is required.
Also don’t be a victim answering silly things like “sorry if you miss the delivery” cause that’s not the point.
The point is that YOU DON’T INFORM your customers about the signature things and for someone can be an issue.
Also I’ve never compaired your quality the competors, you just touch the point that you like but you don’t touch all the others that I’ve mentionated, I just said that I bough your for more money because YOU SHOW A CERTAIN TYPE OF PIECE TROUGH THE WEB SITE WHILE IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WHEN I GOT THAT DELIVERED, at that point customers had the right to choose wich one is better for him and let me tell you something, your quality isn’t better or worse than anyone else, I know you since 2016.
Don’t play victim, also you are lying about the fact that I did not accept the return, I simply said that it is not enough that it is different.
in fact the package leaves today.
Also stop saying that I’ve disrespected someone from your company because is a lie and I will go to report you if you keep saying that thing again.
Waiting for my money back, the package leave today/tomorrow morning.

We understand that it can be frustrating to miss a delivery, however the customer's ensuing behavior with our staff was inappropriate.
We offered a return label for the part at our expense as the photo of the updated part had not been posted, but got a rant and refusal by the customer.
The part can be found at a lower price at a competitor selling it in carbon with fiberglass, not 100% carbon.

Motocomposites - great carbon fibre and good service, competitive pricing

I've now bought 4 products from Motocomposites in Canada and had them posted to Australia. Web site is clear, stock count is accurate. Postage is super quick (except for Australia Post) and the products look good and fit well. One item didn't fit properly and required some modification. Motocomposites asked for photos and then refunded me a portion of the purchase price. Great customer service. Overall I'm happy with the product and the Company -would recommend.

There is a common theme with the poor…

There is a common theme with the poor reviews of this company, it's their customer service. It's absolute garbage!!
I ordered this rear hugger, the front sprocket cover, and the carbon fiber tank cover. The rear hugger and front sprocket cover worked out great. The carbon fiber tank cover fit like garbage, huge gaps between the carbon tank cover and the plastic side pieces. It's not like I could have been installing it incorrectly, the stock piece fit perfectly every time I had to reinstall it after all the requests for photos and video proving the incorrectly fitting piece. I have been working in the manufacturing, 3D metrology, and quality assurance industry for over 30 years with a major aircraft manufacturer working with much larger and much more complex carbon pieces than a simple tank cover that is held in place by four bolts. It's not that the carbon tank cover didn't fit well (it happens), it's that the customer service was completely amateur. The fact that Motocomposites has sold a whopping 17 of these tank covers without a single complaint until mine only goes to prove the absolute rookie status of this company. In all of the correspondence that I had with this company not once did I know the name of the person that I was speaking with. In the end, they did refund my money so I will give them credit for that. What I could do without is the snide remark when informing me that I would get the privilege of sending the part back. Needless to say I will be taking my chance with your competition.

They are useless

They are useless . Waiting 8 months for my orders total. They sent me a defective broken tank cover to start. They replaced it after a headache. I ordered before they sent me the tank. Asking to test fit the side tank covers before they send it to me. They did not. I received them separately. They don't fit together.
They required pictures no problem. Now the tank cover doesn't even fit oem. What kind of work do you actually do?
Im constantly trying to contact them they don't answer their phone and they rarely reply on emails. Very disappointed they shouldn't be in business

2017 Honda Grom carbon tank cover

I was hesitant to make the purchase because of the bad review score. (1.7/5 at the time of writing).
I contacted them and got a response pretty quickly, despite the big difference in time zones.
I finally placed the order and the tank cover was shipped quickly. Everything went smoothly and went through customs inspection quickly.
The tank cover was very well packed and the quality looks good too.
The fitment could be better, but carbon parts never fit perfectly.
The holes to screw in the screws did line up nicely with some pushing.
There is a little gap between the fuel cap and the tank cover, but other than that, it fits almost perfectly.

Although the fit is not 100% I think the score of 1.7/5 is definitely not in proportion to the product I received, so please don't be misled by the bad review score.

Don't waste your time. Worst warranty, lenghty process.

Don't waste your time to order from them, unless you like losing your time to incompetent people, they really disregard your need. Of course the only thing that was simple was the purchasing process... kind of. Simple order, 4 pieces total, installation was the worst nothing fit but they tell you that we need to "work around the panels a bit."They warranty stuff that they cannot deliver. During my warranty period one of the tabs that we screw into other panel broke, I am under the warranty they told me to get it fix by myself with some sort of glue... wich don't make no sense after spending all that money over 1.3k... you telling me I can get it fixed for under a 100$ ? The parts are really coming from low quality craftmanship. Not even 70-80 days and i'm having issue already.

The customer service ? Bad, really bad. No help just beating around the bush. And also Why I suggest not to order from them ? In the case that your panel is defect/issue to receive a new one expect 6-8 weeks also you need to destroy your current panel that you bought with your money so you can get a new one... where does that make sense... ? Go read the policies. And please do yourself a favor shop around.

I purchased over $2000 worth of…

I purchased over $2000 worth of fairings a little over a year ago and then another $700 worth this last December for my husband for Christmas. Two weeks ago my husband was riding down the road and the side fairings just cracked right down the middle and flew off the bike. My husband did not hit anything or drop the bike they just cracked and flew off for absolutely no reason. We contacted motocomposites and they informed us that they have seen this happen a couple times but since they were over 90 days there was nothing they could do even though it was a defect in the product. We sent pictures and video of it happening and they still were unwilling to correct the issue. We are now out almost $3000 and have to buy all new fairings. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY THEY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR PRODUCTS AND YOU WILL JUST BE WASTING YOUR MONEY.

Not sure who responded to this review but you definitely have no idea what you are talking about and must be looking at the wrong claim as video and 11 photos were submitted. The fairings in question are the rear side fairings, leading edges, lower fairings, and tank side fairings which definitely is a lot more the $200 so how about you check your facts before responding to a review. Thanks.

The fairings in question are the rear tail fairings ( which was the only photo provided in the claim by the customer , no video ) and which were purchased in February 2023 for $199.99, some fifteen months ago. We don't understand how there could have been any related issues with the $2400 of other parts purchased. Carbon parts simply do not disintegrate without explanation if they are properly installed. To hold us responsible and expect us to replace them is not reasonable.

The owner laughed when I called to complain and won’t respond to emails, ignores calls & banned my account.

I’m in the middle of contacting the BBB & will be taking them to court.

It seems that many individuals believe that they are talking to the owner when they speak to my Customer Service Manager because he is a no-nonsense middle aged gentleman who has many years of experience dealing with difficult cases.
I can attest that he handled this case as professionally and with as much patience as can be asked of anyone. Unfortunately, there are individuals in this world who believe that aggression and intimidation are the only ways to resolve a problem, and truth be damned if they can get what they want in any way possible.
We currently have over 4800 service reviews on Shopper Approved with a 4.7 on 5 rating.
This can only be achieved with exceptionally good customer service. Where problems exist, they are almost universally with the disposition and character of those doing the slandering.
