Excellent lodging, spectacular food, and informed, kind guides made for an amazing journey through Peru!

An amazing experience! The hiking was great - and just the right amount of time/distance each day. Stunning scenery and the best thing is that you hardly see other people on the trails. Mountain lodges were great to deal with. Guides were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The lodges themselves were lovely and the food was exceptional.

This was a trip of a lifetime! I loved to chance to active, hiking in these beautiful mountains, while experiencing Peru. The service from beginning to end is professional and friendly. Mountain Lodges offer an experience unlike any other. I hope to go back as soon as I can.

Mountain Lodges of Peru gave us a five-star, trio of a lifetime. Our guide and the lodge staff could not have been better. Great food with 3-course meals even during the trek. They created an incredible experience. Highly recommend MLP and the Salkantay Pass.

Just the most wonderful trip! If you get the chance, ask for a trip that Pepe leads, he is the best!

Think Mercado is both overpriced and undistinguished. A bad combination.

The Sacred Valley Lares trek was the best trip we ever went on. The hiking and scenery were excellent as well as the lodges, food and staff. Our guides Wilder and Jose were amazing to be with for 5 days! We learned so much about the history of Cusco and the Sacred Valley and met so many locals along the way. We have so many great memories and would love to do it again!

We did the 10 day Lares and Salkantay trek in early May 2019. It's hard to combine luxurious isolation while hiking at 14,000 feet, but Mountain Lodges of Peru has somehow pulled this off.

The food is fantastic, the guides are first rate, the lodges are small and elegant, the beds are fantastic, and the staff in the lodges are wonderful. Some of the lodges are so special, we wished we could have stayed several nights in each.

The hiking is not trivial, but if you train, you will have a great time. The only people who struggled were ones who didn't train or who didn't take the altitude seriously. But, even if you struggle, the MLP staff will go out of their way to assist. They even brought in an extra burro for one guest to ride when she couldn't hike due to altitude sickness.

My only other recommendation would be to come a few days early and acclimate in the Sacred Valley before your hike. It is lower than Cuzco, but still high enough to get you over the worst of the acclimation process.

My only complaint is that we can't find a similar operation in other hiking destinations around the world:)

Everything about Mountain lodges is perfect! The guides are so knowledgeable and friendly! The places were we stayed are places you see on a postcard. And the food OMG! Thank you so much for an amazing experience ❤️

I am so glad I chose MLP, along with me was my daughter and my nephew we had a great time. The food and lodging was great but what truly made the trip one of the best I’ve been on was our guide Darwin, not only did he make sure everything went smoothly, he also address everybody’s needs. If he saw there was a problem he took care of it right away. I can’t say enough good things about him. I truly believe this trip brought me closer to my daughter and nephew. If there’s anything I wish was different, I wish we could have stayed longer at Machu Picchu. I want to return to Peru to see more of such a beautiful country.

We loved everything about our experience with Mountain Lodges of Peru! Our guides Felix and Roger were amazing and the lodges were breath taking. The food was gourmet every day and we were all delighted by the hikes and scenery.

Tour Guide was very dishonest and wanted to be treated by his guests with Pisco every day.
He did not have any sympathy to some of the slow paced guests, and kept moving at his own pace and suggested to take a ride in a cab

My family of four adults did the Salkantay July 2019.Very good accomodation and food ( too much food in fact ) good communication, experienced guides ,very well prepared with medical supplies Including oxygen, medication , and even suture sets if needed . Duffle bags were supplied for the trek and our belongings stored safely at the accomodation in Cusco .
Cabins along the Salkantay route were clean warm , comfortable ,well stocked. Offering massage and Clothes washing facilities at some and Breathtaking views at all. The walk was challenging in Some parts but generally quite manageable , rocky underfoot at times but again we had no trouble. Would suggest ankle support boots if concerned. We also had walking poles which came in handy . One of my sons did not use them and managed fine.
Weather was amazing , cool mornings , sunny days, so layers are a must as is sunscreen and hat .
Highly recommended .
We were not disappointed.
