A VERY strange experience

Had a gentleman out from MPH on 19/11/25. I can honestly say it was a strange experience, and would recommend NOT using this company!

Summarising:

Told me I did not need a new boiler just a power flush! This was estimated by him using some tool/camera to film my radiators. Didn't check or ask condition of boiler.

Saw id had a quote from British gas then said couldn't offer me a quote as "MPH were contracted to British Gas to fit boilers" however then proceeded to provide a quote!

Advised only reason the more expensive boilers were popular i.e. Woster and Valiant was due to them sponsoring prime time soap opera TV slots

Became afronted when offered me, in his words a "mates rate" price and when I said id need to think about it and read a quote. Accused me of refusing his offer! Which i found to be a nasty insult in my own home!

Most shockingly, he asked what boiler id thought of. I mentioned a model from Ideal but he then claimed there had been a page on UK gov site only that morning claiming they were all a fire hazard and showed me a "live" gov.uk page, but he pulled this from pictures in his phone. However, the date on this "live" page is actually from February 2024.

This might be an isolated incident, but I definitely say on this experience to AVOID MPH.

MPH group did another fantastic job

MPH group did another fantastic job. We’re so pleased with our en-suite, how it was carried out promptly and professionally and how they left the site spotless. We chose to go direct to MPH group after they salvaged outsourced work from Wickes, so this time it was very smooth. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend MPH Group.

I am not happy at all about the way


I am not happy at all about the way this company dealt with the issue. I had a service done last week to my Navien combi boiler . My heating was working well. Scott arrived sressed out with phone ringing every 2 minutes, did the service in 10 minutes , had to ask him to check filter. And when about to leave , heating didn't work anymore.He went away back to Kircaldy , came back and was unable to have the heating working again. Then just said he'll contact Navien and left! I didn't hear from him again.
I had to contact Navien myself , said they would phoned but didn't. I eventually talked to somebody after 3 phone calls . Gave me the name of someone who is a very competent engineer and sorted the prob today, a week after.
I am very disappointed in MPH company. It is not acceptable to just leave somebody with no heating when it was working before and not get back in touch and let me deal with the issue myself.

Our visit on 26th September was solely to carry out a routine boiler service on your Navien boiler, which we did not install. The service itself was completed in full and to the correct standard.

During the visit, our engineer also spent considerable time assisting with your Navien wireless controller, which you mentioned had been losing signal prior to the service. Despite repeated efforts on the day, the controller continued to drop out – this is unrelated to the service carried out on the boiler.

As part of our aftercare, we logged the issue with Navien on your behalf and provided you with their support details. Navien’s procedure is to attempt phone support before sending an engineer, and this process needed to be completed directly with them.

We appreciate how frustrating this must have been, but it is not accurate to say your heating “stopped working because of the service.” The issue lay with the wireless controller, which you had already confirmed was giving you problems before our visit. This then required Navien’s intervention, not anything connected to the service we carried out.

Brilliant company

From Ryan designing our kitchen, to Tommy who project managed and fitted our kitchen, the whole process was like clockwork, every tradesman who came to our house, they were all fantastic, I can’t praise this company highly enough
Our kitchen is exactly like Ryan designed and promised,
MPH also fitted our new combi boiler and radiators, again, a brilliant job
I would highly recommend this company

Fitted Bathroom!

We had MPH team fit our dream bathroom, from start to finish it was effortless and easy for us! We cannot thank the team enough! High quality service, always kept in the loop with what stages at. The whole was spotless throughout the job showing the care they team have for their craft!

poor customer service

This company fitted my kitchen in 2021.I am still waiting for my gas certification and electrical certification I am sick of phoning this company over the years It is like doctors surgery you cant get passed the receptionist to speak to the boss he is out on call but will get him to phone you back still waiting.
have contacted Wickes re certificate they had written to MPH asking them to forward on to us MPH have been paid 169.16 for both certificates if they are not prepared to give them to us a refund should be given.

Thank you for your review. We’d like to clarify that the kitchen installed in 2021 was carried out on behalf of Wickes, not as a direct MPH Group project. As such, any issues or requests regarding documentation like gas or electrical certification must be raised directly with Wickes, who managed the overall job.

Had Ewan (owner) and Ken? come out to survey and quote in January 2025, its now April. I promised Ewan I'd do a good review if satisfied. Well, I'm true to my word.

3 chaps came to fit the boiler and electrics and a Hive in Magdalene, Edinburgh.

Polite, professional, no mess and fully explain things, and a cracking price, and a very good boiler.

Would highly recommend MPH Boilers.

MPH - a service that AI cannot replace!

MPH - a service that AI cannot replace! - my second project completed with this company. First a new boiler and now a bathroom in a tired old flat. They turn up on time, are polite, do the work quickly to a high quality standard with pride, and tidy up afterwards. What more can you ask for? Nice banter, problem solve and adapt to all the usual snags as they go. They provide a great service at a reasonable price - I would highly recommend and not hesitate to use them again. Thank you!

I arranged for a representative to come


I arranged for a representative to come on Monday,I thought I needed a whole new heating system,David gave some excellent advice and told I didn’t need new radiators,they would have them working to capacity with a new boiler,he gave me a good quote for a new boiler,I agreed to go ahead,received a call from the office 10 minutes after David left saying they could install on Wednesday,engineer didn’t catch his name he was very efficient and a nice guy,I didn’t realise how inefficient my old system was until I got the new one,my house is so cozy now,job well done thanks graeme

Excellent trouble free boiler and radiator installation

Huge thank you to Gary, Martin & Davy from MPH. While the job took a little longer than anticipated they were absolutely brilliant and made what could have been really stressful a great deal easier.

At all points throughout the install they told us what they were doing and put our minds at rest that there wasn't anything they wouldn't be able to find a solution for.

True to their word, we now have a new boiler and 6 new radiators and a toasty warm home.

We can't recommend MPH highly enough.

New boiler

Recently enquired about a new boiler. The guy who came out and did the quote was brilliant gave us loads of information and made sure we understood what we were getting. Conner who fitted the boiler arrived on time and did a great job. Converted from an old system boiler to a brand new combi including removing the old water tank in little over 4 hours. Then the sparkie arrived literally within minutes of conner leaving to connect up our new hive system. Very pleased with the service and our new boiler and would definitely recommend mph to family and friends. Thanks Mph!

Annual service: great company and fairly priced

As usual, excellent service. Reminders of the appointment were sent which is very helpful. On the day, given a one hour window for the time of the appointment. Engineer arrived within that one hour time frame and the service was carried put quickly and efficiently. Safety certificate supplied within the hour. Would highly recommend.

The 4* are for the workmen as they were


The 4* are for the workmen as they were excellent workers and very professional however communication regarding which workmen were coming when, delays etc was nearly nonexistent from the manager/office. No phone calls only communication was via texts and that was only to answer my questions. Instead of taking the 5-6 days as discussed it took 9 days to complete my bathroom and as this was my only bathroom it was very inconvenient.

First class service


From first enquire the service I received was differant class.
Communication was excellent and the speed of service unbelievable. From my initial call, survey and a fully installed boiler carried out by quality tradesmen . All done in 24hrs turn around. Well done Ewan and the team at MPH

Mph group rennovated my full house 2


Mph group rennovated my full house 2 years ago, new kitchen, bathroom, flooring, windows, bedrooms, boiler and central heating system, it was great having one company take on this refurbishment and i was kept in the loop at all times, from the office team to the tradesmen i coudlnt be more happy with the whole process and have been recommending mph to firends and family. Since the refurb mph have been carrying out the annual servicing on my boiler, they get in touch to let me know its due and the servicing engineer Scott is lovely. highly reccomend!
