Hi Linda's how did you get your money back you are the only one that I know of that has my kitchen and bathroom is dropping to bits

Well well well Stephen aka Gary Brooks - yes people he’s had to change his name because even his suppliers his ripped off!!

I have my own story and if you google search KB Designs Ltd and also Kitchen & bathroom makeovers Ltd you can leave a review to help other folk before they end up in the situations we have!! We all need to get together and take them all on full force!!

We got our money back because we put a claim into court but we just didn’t do him we did his wife too Annette Brooks who is also the owner of Kitchen and Bathroom makeovers Ltd.

Believe me Stephen is a very cunning sales man and a crook along with Phil who will try and play good cop but he is just as bad as Stephen!!

As for me not liking you Stephen when you came to do the quote - yeah that because certain individuals have 6th sense and I knew you was a crook with 5 secs of clapping eye on you! Unfortunately my partner had no sense and wouldn’t be told!!

Stephen enjoy your freedom because you may think you are untouchable but your not and my senses are telling me you and Phil are going to feeling it REAL soon

Well what can I say after reading all the reviews that people have written and only one with positive review which of course is Steve brooks mate, I am in the same boat, in process of taking him down the legal route and also altering trading standards across the midlands to this man’s companies and merry man including the fraud squad, I am also going to contact tv media fraud and scam programs in order to get myself and others justice it’s time these people serve some of our majesty pleasure.

MRS bathroom now operate under the name KB design Ltd. I unfortunately did not read any reviews before employing these incompetent-in the words of our Electrician-"near criminal"individuals.Lucky for us the Tiler did not turn up to finish the job,he did not turn up 3 times as promised.This finally made me search for reviews and thereafter double check Mark Bryants work .Mark had left the electric cables in the loft in such a way as to be a fire hazard-attempting to disguise his handiwork by piling insulation material on top.we have photos as evidence.on top of that they left the wrong trap for shower,AVOID AT ALL COST!!

Anyone checking on Mrs Bathrooms Ltd please note this Company was dissolved by con man Stephen Brooks in Aug 2024 if he is still trading under this name he needs reporting. Do not use any Company associated with Stephen Paul Brooks

Do not be fooled into using MRS Bathrooms. We unwittingly went with them after using a big company who obviously contacted the work out to Steve and his crew. After waiting almost 6 months to get snagging sorted, the origional company actually sent someone else entirely to do the work. This company said they are forever sorting Steve's fitters work.. Just over a year down the line and we now need to have the bathroom ripped out and redone as the water damage has been there since day one and we're only now seeing it... absolutely disgusting company.. AVOID!!!!

Wow reading these reviews there’s no shock there before you order ya new bathroom off these cowboys just read this they charge a fortune and use cheep tat materials propper bodge job aswell and if ya complain like my shower tray beading is coming away not even bean in a year they don’t want to know cowboys to say the least and its that bad there operating in a different name hmm save ya money stear well clear of these muppets fact

My parents were ripped off by Steve Brook and his merry band of fellow conmen namely Phil Prior, Paul Newton and Richard (R&M Services Willerby). They enlisted him in January and paid out a large sum in advance. The job was to knock through existing separate toilet and bathroom and fit new shower, bath, toilet, along with a downstairs WC replacement including all tiling.

I contacted Citizens Advice Bureau due to the following:

• Bare live electrics left hanging from various points in the bathroom.
• Failure to remove all old bathroom equipment.
• Bath was fitted prior to any preparation work being completed (blown plaster all around the room).
• They proceeded to tile one wall prior to any prep work – my dog’s legs are straighter than the tiling completed by them, so I demanded this was removed.
• They fitted a new doorway TWICE, both times this was not level, nor flush, nor in the correct position.
• Failure to remove an old door frame, they were going to tile over/around it.
• People (cannot call them Tradesmen) failed to arrive when we were told they would be on site.
• Following formal complaint by email, they still did not respond in a satisfactory manor, nor address all the issues.
• I constantly requested Steve Brooks contact me, he never did, nor did he answer the phone to me (cowardly little conman).
• Final straw prior to them being kicked off the job was they disconnected the new bath as I had demanded the room needed to be taken back to brick and they proceeded to flood through the floor into the kitchen. When I shouted to them that they had caused a leak, they even denied it was them (the bathroom is directly above the kitchen). Leak was caused by them by not closing off the water supply to the bath before removal.
• At this point and after we checked the renewed doorway which was even further out of alignment, they were told not to come back to the job, thus meaning we had to pay for trusted traders to come and correctly complete all works.
**The above list is just a small amount of the issues we faced.**

Steve Brooks was issued with a Pre-court warning, to his home address, the address listed on Companies House and the address on the back of the contract. Both the letters to his home address and address listed on Companies House were signed for. The one on the back of the contract was never signed for – no one there, isn’t it funny that if you want use your right to cancel within 14 days, this is the address you have to write to!

Steve Brooks actually got in touch with me following receipt of the pre-court warning and proceeded to try pass the buck and make excuses, he could not and would not address any of the issues I stated.

We took them to court and were awarded a CCJ, as like other’s he did not show up to court.

We enlisted a debt collection agency, however this cannot be enforced because his business address is his accountant. This is a major loophole, which he clearly knows and is getting away with ripping people off by thousands of pounds (no wonder he can afford a house in Spain too hey). This is why he is not bothered about any CCJ’s against him.

To the person that posted about Doncaster Trading Standards, I will certainly be getting in touch with them.

Reading the reviews, I have nothing much to add except that there OSS clearly a pattern by Steve Brooks, John Newton, and Phil Prior. It is either deliberate criminal behaviour, or incompetence.

I took them to the small claims court, and they never showed up so now I’m going to be going through a debt collector. However, if anyone else is having this problem then let’s find a way to get in touch because I am considering criminal prosecution for fraud.

Did a bathroom, and while this went okay that is because they subcontracted out the fitting (and reading the reviews I’m so glad about this). However, I ended up doing almost everything in regards to ordering equipment, managing logistics and communication. They ordered the wrong fittings, not on time, late, and denied there was ever a problem.

AVOID conmerchants. Planning on making an application to small claims court against Steve and his band of merry conmen. Awful Jon done, things have broken, finished off badly (holes in grout, handles falling off, wrong items delivered)
Over charged by thousands and did a dreadful job.
Please find someone else

I’m so sorry to keep reading these reviews about Steve Brooks and his various rip-off companies. I too fell for his patter and paid for a kitchen that was abandoned by Brooks and his merry men. After nine weeks I was left with a kitchen with no cupboard doors, no power points, unfinished flooring, no shelves in units, no fridge, no washer, no microwave, etc and no workmen! Took him to small claims and won but he has still to pay the order against him. Please if you are reading this and have been subjected to similar treatment through Kitchen or Bathroom Supreme Ltd, or Mrs Kitchens or Bathrooms Ltd (his latest companies) then inform Doncaster Trading Standards at Doncaster Council (they just need enough of us to complain to enable them to stop him in his tracks). My experience was in August 22 through Sep 22.

They charge a lot of money for an ok job. However don’t expect any follow up services. My shower has been leaking for nearly 2 months and no one gets back to you. Avoid like the plague.

Steve Brooks is a scam artist who sells you a dream which turns into a nightmare. Our bathroom took 5 months to complete after Steve Brooks left us to finish the work ourselves at significant cost.

This was due to the tiling bodge job by Phil Prior who Steve Brooks promoted as his best tradesman. Large areas of tiles, mosaics and trims had to be ripped out and replaced. The tiler who corrected the work said it would have been easier to rip everything out and start again. Phil Prior said he was the man Steve Brooks sends in to sort out the bad work of other fitters!

Steve Brooks says he will manage every aspect of your project from start to finish. He took responsibility for nothing except banking the money - as soon as we had a problem we were on our own. If you try to raise an issue he will invent or twist facts and resorts to one line texts and emails which look like English but make no sense.

Steve Brooks is a rogue trader who is oblivious to the stress and misery caused by his unscrupulous behaviour. Negative reviews reveal a pattern of botch jobs, bad practice and angry customers who are left to fix the mess created by Steve Brooks and whichever fitter he can find to do the work.

If you want a clean job done in a reasonable time. Do not use this company!
If you want attention to detail & a professional finish. Do not use this company.
If you don’t want your house used as storage for their next job, Do not use this company.
If you want peace of mind that any problems will be rectified after completion of the job. Do not use this company.

Sadly we were also were conned by Steve Brooks and gang of fitters. Many customers cite name/address changes to company etc. Certainly wouldn't recommend as we were horrified at our bathroom. The lies, strops, lack of knowledge no shows, pitiful excuses, the hours spent waiting in for fitters who had no intention of showing up - the list goes on. Our hard earned lined someone's bank account though.

We trusted Steve Brook and Paul Newton, Phil Prior with upwards of 6 grands to do a tiny bathroom upgrade and it took 2 months from initial deposit paid in September for an instant week of delivery from 09 October to finally somehow got the bathroom work started on the 25th October and still waiting for the completion. They left the job half finished tiling flooring not finished, extractor fans backfaps ( I ordered as cheapskates didn’t include those;) also reported and following up daily as dirty water coming through the basin tap and still not getting anywhere even though they have charged for 1 year of warranty. I am here to warn others as well as look for suggestion on getting them reported. I don’t wish even my worst enemies to ever face what I did with these total crooks. No professionalism, no paperwork, no real proof of new fixtures and installation, no checks/ Steve takes all the money upfront and then leaves the fitters to collect their due right at the end.

Steve brooks also operates under the names Homefit Bathrooms, and Supreme kitchens and bathrooms, both of which have bad reviews too. He's a cowboy with no manners, no businesses sense, no customer service skills, and no heart. He will ask you for links of parts you want, and then see what damaged old stock he's got in his yard and send you that instead. He will take most money upfront, so by the time you get the parts he's long gone and will leave either Phil or Paul to deal with it, who won't claim responsibility for anything. These guys took my ill dad's pension pot and showed no remorse. I was left with no bathroom and my family having to try and fit the bathroom themselves as we had no money left. Reading other reviews it's a good job I cancelled the job when I did as his fitters are known to do terrible jobs and leave people with leaking appliances. Steve I am taking this a lot further, you've conned a lot of people and got away with it, but you've messed with the wrong people this time.

Following on from my previous review, my bathroom refurb has been completed. To say I’m highly satisfied with the products supplied, which I left down to Phil, and the level of attention to detail he worked to, is an understatement. From start to finish, everything has been superb. I’d highly recommend this company and would be happy to supply photos, if needed. I had a quote of £13k and Steve came in at 9, which was a massive bonus. Thanks, guys.
