Mt. Travel Sobek is an excellent travel company. They provide great trips, guides and office staff support.

Have done three MT Sobek trips and will only continue to use them as amazing experiences with them. Our trips have been Alaska, Patagonia and Nepal. If it were for MT Sobek our Nepal experience would have been scary. We were helicopter out of Lutka, Nepal, only because of their connections and expertise. While it might cost a little more, well worth the cost to be appropriately advised and totally supported. The guides are so amazing. We were ready to sign up for hiking Patagonia last March 2020 but of course COVID hit. Can’t wait to start traveling again. This is an amazing travel company.

Every location on this trip was well thought of and planned out. The guides were enthusiastic, professional and proud of the locales and all they had to share. Every trip has me signing up for another one!

I have not taken an MT Sobek trip in 3 years, but have recently received 2 emails to review a trip I did not take. HOWEVER, after more than 12 pleasurable trips with MT Sobek, our last trip--to Papua New Guinea was our last. Nearly half of the promised activities were "not available", we were told that we would have not enjoyed the native hosted island stay anyway. This trip was fly in, get in an air conditioned bus to the tourist hotel, be warned not to venture from the hotel (I ran-safely-nearly every morning), then drive around and visit a few sites. The trip leader kept telling us how dangerous it was to walk, I insisted we walk to the Goroka show, he had one of his local guides join us, and 3 of us on the trip had the only real authentic experience of the week.

Last year we did the culinary trip of the Istrian peninsula. This was a well organized trip with two great guides who went out of their way to ensure that we all had a good time. Amazing lodging and food and a look at the countries of Croatia and Slovenia and a tiny bit of Italy. The tour of the WW1 bunkers and WW1 museum was sobering flashback to that terrible time.

about 5 years ago we did the Nakasendo Trail in Japan and again enjoyed the immersion in the Japanese culture but would have enjoyed the trip more if we slept in beds rather than tatami mats. But a great trip also.

Walking Japan was a unique experience because I was able to see both sides of the country: the modern, world class cities of Tokyo and Kyoto along with the old, small villages where we had kerosene heaters, slept on the floor with buckwheat filled pillows, and ate meals sitting on the floor. Caution: in cities western food is easily found, but in other areas not even American-style Japanese food such as tempura, teriyaki, and udon noodles is found. Thankfully everywhere had coffee at breakfast.

My two MT Sobek trips, the first The Salkantay Inn to Inn Express hike to Machu Picchu and the second, a individual couple, guided trip among the Galápagos Islands were great. Well organized and we availed ourselves of an add on birdwatching trip in Ecuador which was a highlight! Highly recommended.

Had a great trip hiking Kilimanjaro. The leadership of the guides was very helpful and made the trip a success

I have taken at least six trips with Mt. Travel Sobek and I rate them right at the top of all adventure travel companies. Their office staff are responsive to questions and trip details, the guides are fantastic, and overall, I'm totally satisfied with this company. I'll be traveling with them again!

Been on 2 separate expeditions with MTS both excellent in every manner. Once things get back to normal, I plan on booking several additional trips.

Somethings seemed a little pricey but overall we enjoyed it !!

We have traveled with MT Sobek for several decades and over a dozen trips -- on desert tracks, mountain paths and white water rivers -- from Kathmandu to Timbuktu. Each adventure was extraordinary. So many wonderful memories.

Andy, Mandela and the Sobek crew were phenomenal -- I wish I was with them now :)

China trip was amazing. Our guide, Chao, was amazing. I felt very comfortable in his hands. He was very friendly and knowledgeable.

The trip was fantastic. The guides were excellent. I traveled with MTS once. I take 3 active vacations/ year.

Please - find a way to stop penalizing solo travelers. Your supplements are steep. Other travel companies are minimizing the fee. As such, I have taken my business elsewhere.

BEST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD. Service was amazing. The people were amazing. The experience felt authentic. I felt very taken care of.

Overall, my several experiences with MTS have been exceptional. The treks have all been well thought out and planned

Based on his explanations, apology, and a frank conversation, I am willing to give MT Sobek another chance and will hope for the best. My rating has therefore gone from one star to three; hoping after my next experience with them that I can give them 5 stars!***
Our first trip w/ Mt Sobek was great, especially due to the guide, Laurent Langoisseur (in Chamonix, France). The second trip had some issues (also due to the guide) and we reported those upon our return. Mt Sobek handled that to our satisfaction, including giving us a partial credit for use on a future trip. That trip (a cruise in the Gulf of St Lawrence with One Ocean), our third and last ever with Mt Sobek, was filled with issues. We reported all of our concerns upon our return. A representative called me and I was able to explain fully what our issues were (as well as to highlight some folks who had provided great service). She said she would be taking the same trip soon and would contact me within a month for followup. I never heard another word from her or anyone at Mt Sobek, so our concerns were never addressed. Frankly, being repeat customers who gave requested feedback (including praise for those who gave great service), we were surprised that our opinions apparently were of no concern to your company. We have had very different experiences with both Wilderness Travel and Backroads, and will continue to travel with them and other providers who value our business.

Well organized , reliable , great guides, good food! .
Thoroughly enjoyed our trips to kayaking Glacier Bay, Alaska and to the Galapagos Islands.
