My husband and I had the most amazing wedding at Murthly. The castle and the grounds are so special and unique. We had our ceremony in the forest, drinks in the garden and dinner and a ceilidh in the respective rooms of the castle. Having the ability to move around the whole space was fantastic. Thomas was an absolute joy to work with, and so helpful both in the run up and during the day - he was happy to liaise with us, and our suppliers, and was very flexible and accommodating. We didn’t feel rushed in terms of set up and take down before and after either. I am so glad we got married at Murthly, and I would urge anyone else looking for a unique wedding to consider it.

Had wonderful wedding at the estates Chapel followed by a reception at the Castle itself, every building and room was so beautiful and really gave us such a magical day, paired with how accommodating Thomas was and helpful he was in setting up the venue for our special day. Had a really great experience!

Murthly Castle Estate is a wonderful place to hold an event, being private, beautiful, quiet, exclusive. Thomas is great to work with - always patient and calm and wants to help you make your event special. I would definitely recommend holding your event at Murthly Castle.

We celebrated our wedding at Murthly Estate on 18/7/24 and had the most fantastic day. Everything was perfect from start to finish and the grounds and gardens all looked beautiful.

The chapel is truly stunning and there are some fantastic locations around the estate for wedding photos.

Thomas could not have been more accommodating and helpful, and really made the experience a breeze.

We got married at Murthly Estate in September, we had the best day of our lives. The venue is absolutely beautiful, all of our guests were blown away!

Picking Murthly allowed us the freedom to design our day exactly the way we wanted. Thomas was really helpful giving us a list of suppliers and he was always contactable! He was there on the day as well if we needed anything.

Having the venue for 4 days was a big bonus giving us plenty time to set up and tidy up the day after!

We would 1000% recommend this to anybody, we couldn’t have asked for a better day!

We got married at the Chapel on Murthly Estate and could not recommend it highly enough. The Chapel is absolutely beautiful, as are all the grounds on the estate - the setting and scenery are truly breath-taking. The communication with the venue could not have been better, with quick responses to all our questions and always available to speak when needed. Having postponed our wedding from May 2020 until August 2021, we finally managed to get married at Murthly Chapel last summer. From start to finish, it was a magical day and Thomas made us feel most welcome. The guests marvelled at the historic chapel and Thomas was on hand to explain about its history. The gardens were a beautiful backdrop for our wedding photos. We would highly recommend booking Murthy Estate for a wedding.

Our experience at Murthly was absolutely amazing!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at this spectacular venue in May 2021, and the whole experience from the initial booking through to the big day was a complete joy. Our guests are still talking about the venue, and the chapel is breathtaking too!!

Thomas supported us every step of the way, and despite Covid restrictions which meant having to shift plans (and dates!) he was so accommodating, offering advice and support to make sure we had everything we needed. It meant a lot to us to find a venue that was so good at communicating, meeting our needs and keeping everyone safe.

In summary, we would recommend Murthly 100%, we couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful day. Thanks Thomas and the Murthly team!

We held a small Covid friendly wedding at Murthly Estate earlier this year. It was the perfect day.
Having already postponed our original wedding plans twice, we booked our ceremony and reception very last minute. Thomas couldn't have been more helpful.

A magical wedding venue

It is just past our second wedding anniversary and we have once again been reminded of what a wonderful experience we had on the Murthly Estate. The organisation was perfect from the beginning and everyone was very adaptable and helpful in what was ever changing extreme weather conditions. The venue itself, the castle, chapel and grounds are stunning and were a perfect backdrop to an unforgettable day. We would recommend Murthly Estate to anyone organising their special day, a perfect setting

Myself and my husband first visited Murthly Estate in January 2018 while on the hunt for a wedding venue. We fell in love with it instantly and were married there in late May 2019, when all the colourful the Rhododendrons were just coming out. From our first visit and throughout the planning process, Thomas was always on hand to answer any questions we had and was very helpful and flexible when it came to receiving suppliers and supplies in the days leading up to the wedding. We had a ceremony in the chapel, which is unbelievably special and romantic, and then held our reception in a marquee in the beautiful gardens. Even though it rained all day, I wouldn't change a single thing about our day - it was perfect. Murthly has everything - beautiful gardens, a chapel, a charming house, and an extremely helpful host! Also it is still very easy to get to from all corners of Scotland, being close to the A9. I would absolutely recommend Murthly to anyone looking for that extra special venue.

It was very easy booking the venue and Thomas was extremely helpful, letting us see the place multiple times before we made our minds. There's a gorgeous church that can be used for the wedding, but we wanted to have an outdoor wedding and Thomas suggested this beautiful area of the property lined with fir trees (largest in the UK I believe) which was perfect. Since you have the castle, the church, the trees and the garden, you can pretty much do whatever you want in here and it's all beautiful. There's no corkage fee if you are using a marquee and bringing your own drinks which is a huge saving as well. There's so much space you can use in the lawn to move and it's just really beautiful. We weren't using the castle but Thomas very kindly gave our guests a little tour so they could see how beautiful the rooms were; the same for the church - since both my husband and I work in museums, like many of our guests, this was particularly exciting. Our guests were all impressed and quite a lot of people commented that the whole setting looked like something out of a movie. I would also encourage anyone to see the place in person as the pictures simply don't do it justice. It was also very easy to do the booking and Thomas was extremely approachable and friendly - something else our guests commented on as he was there on the day helping out.

We got married here in November 2018. Thomas was fantastic to deal with, all ran very smoothly and we had a superb day. Would highly recommend as a venue especially if you want a relatively blank canvas to put your own twist on.

Thomas was fantastic from start to finish. The team on the day made it run so smoothly that even for my father. a military man. couldn't fault it. Thomas had the great balance of just popping in and around just at the right time and just letting us get on with it.
The site's itself was amazing, and so many friends just couldn't believe the gem that we had found to get married at. Thank you.

We had our hearts set on Murthly Estate for our wedding from the outset - located in the heart of Perthshire, close to Dunkeld, in the most stunning setting...we really couldn't have hoped for a better location! On top of that, there are very few places that enable you to get married in the stunning on-site chapel before walking up the tree and daffodil lined gravel driveway to the walled garden and party! Plus because Thomas hosts a limited number of weddings at Murthly during the year, it's a "hidden gem" venue which a lot of guests aren't familiar with and are inevitably blown away by!
Thomas was absolutely fantastic to work with throughout the planning process and during the wedding weekend - extremely welcoming and accommodating and his pride in the venue is very apparent with it being maintained to the highest standard.
The walled garden offered the perfect setting for our 160+ guests to be entertained in...we were lucky with the weather which meant our guests could play with the lawn games we'd set up (including tennis net!) and plenty of space for lots of mixing and mingling, drinking and canapes. In the evening, the marquee set up within the walled garden was a fabulous setting to keep the party going!
Really couldn't recommend Murthly Estate any higher - we had the most incredible wedding day and the venue couldn't have been more perfect. Feedback from our guests on the venue was also very positive!!

Professional and friendly service in the most beautiful setting. It is the perfect location and our wedding could not have gone better. I cannot recommend Murthly Castle enough.

We travelled from Australia and had our small elopement wedding in the walled garden of Murthly Castle. It has a very fairytale-like feel. The gardens are beautifully maintained and established, with wide variety and colours. There are so many spots for different photos and backgrounds and the garden has a beautiful vintage 'Summer House/grand garden shed' which we said our vows standing outside of. Thomas, the Owner of Murthly, was pleasant and easy to communicate with.
I would highly recommend Murthly Estate as a ceremony venue.

Murthly Castle has been host to two of our special occasions - our wedding back in 2009 and our 10 year anniversary picnic in July 2019. Both were delightful, with Thomas being the perfect, most attentive host. The set up is very flexible as you can choose to use the function rooms or gardens and of course there is the amazing chapel. The setting is truly beautiful, and it feels very special. It doesn't come cheap, but it's reasonable and worth every penny.

My wife and I got married at Murthly Estate in May 2019, and the setting was absolutely perfect. From the beautiful gardens, to the incredible castle and the wonderful chapel, Murthly Estate truly had everything for our wedding day.

Thomas is incredibly friendly and was very accommodating during the entire process. He gave us an initial tour of the grounds, castle and chapel, was happy to accept deliveries of items in advance of the wedding day and for us to store a number of items. Thomas is flexible with the vendors on the day, letting us hire whoever we liked e.g. caterers. He was always willing to help, and on the day of the wedding he was on hand to support as required.

We would highly recommend Thomas and Murthly Estate for weddings!
