I changed my tyres and they changed it to me very fast and in a very good price

Great customer service

I had a really disappointing experience at Mycar Tyre & Auto in Maitland. I took my car in for a registration inspection and received a call from Travis, who told me my rear tyres needed replacing because of their age. He said the tread was fine, but when I questioned why they needed replacing if the tread was okay, he then claimed they had dry rot and wouldn’t pass rego. He quoted me $350 to replace them and only offered one tyre option, which was Mycar-branded tyres.
I mentioned that Mycar had already replaced my tyres twice, once in March 2022 and again in April 2024. He responded, "We would never put old tyres on a car." However, when I got copies of my past receipts from another local Mycar, I found that the tyres they claimed were 8 years old were actually the ones they sold and fitted in March 2022. This means the tyres were already 5 years old when installed on my car in 2022. Now, just 3 years later, those same tyres are being used as the reason my car didn’t pass inspection because of their age.
After taking photos of the tyres when they were removed from my car, there was no visible dry rot on the tyres, and they showed no signs of carcass failure, which is the actual requirement for passing registration. The tyres appeared to be in good condition.
I felt completely misled and taken advantage of. I strongly recommend avoiding this location for registration inspections or tyre replacements.

Timely appointment, good price for quality tyres, friendly service. I was able to drop off the car and pick it up an hour and a half later.
Location is close to a shopping area.

I was delighted with My Car In Maitland, this was the third time i have been to them twice for a Pink Slip and once for a puncture and new tyres fitted on every occasion the staff who worked on the car but it was left nice and clean inside and out, I was delighted. I shall return to this garage again for my next work to be carried out, Thank you Guys for a great job. Arthur Angel
