Sadly cant give this zero stars, truly awful platform, I can't believe schools actually pay for this. I have to use a laptop to pay for things as, when viewed on a mobile, part of the frame covers the checkout button. Being mobile friendly should be step 1. Who puts a scroll bar on the left of a column?? The best thing about my daughter leaving school? Never having to use MyChildAtSchool ever again.

Useless product and app cant even add dinner money to my sons account

There have been constant issues with the app since we got it and no way as a parent to log issues with support. The latest problem is where multiple announcements come through on the same day, you read the first one and all subsequent ones disappear. Sometimes they reappear days later but generally they are just lost. Same problem on the web log in and via the app.
As a parent it is difficult to use, the UX is pretty awful, and as soon as one problem is fixed, another one appears.

The MyChildAtSchool / MCAS website and iOS app are an abomination. My experiences echo the other reviews on here: notifications don't notify; booking trips crashes the app or just won't let you proceed; making payments is very confusing, with no confirmation or acknowledgement the payment has succeeded other than a transaction on my card statement.

The UX is one of the worst I've experienced in over 20 years of software development. It feels like a prototype system developed by a junior dev many years ago that has just been added to again and again with no oversight. It really is that bad.

If you're working in a school and considering MCAS/Bromcom, please find another app. It's a horrendous user experience and really flies in the face of schools trying to build supportive relationships with parents/carers.

the app barely even works, UI is horrible and the homework page is confusing

This app is really annoying me. Since an update to the former app, I can no longer open attachments in messages without having to download them, notifications are sporadic, timetable no longer shows which teacher is taking the lesson and when in the timetable I can’t get out of it without going to a weekend which takes up a smaller portion of the screen. I didn’t mind it before but the update has ruined it for me.

18 months on and the website and app are still appalling. No wonder it's now at 2 stars for reviews.
Message notifications don't work properly, you either get a notification that will not go or you don't get one full stop.
Adding funds to the account is just confusing. Very slow website.

I’ve being trying for days to add my child onto my account. I already have the app set up with my eldest on so I thought, ‘Surely, it’s simple enough to just add another child’?
WRONG! I just keep going round in circles of being asked to re-enter login details or change profile. I’m about ready to chuck my phone in the bin.

It was bad before and the update, incredibly, made it much worse.
Can't change bookings for afterschool club!

The majority of time I try to log onto this website it crashes. I was able to login a few weeks ago for a short time but it was so slow I had to give up.

Since I've had to update this App it no longer shows any up to date information.

Really unhelpful and useless as this App is the one that holds all school information and updates on.

Terrible cheap App with Zero customer support. The amount of times the dinner money feature doesn't work is ridiculous, Therefore if no food taken in, children go without food and the schools make no provision for them to eat if the app doesn't work. If you flag to the school they refer you to the support email address. Which is never answered. Useless App.

I had to give this app one star, but zero would be more accurate, you get daily messages that you can’t open, so you have no idea what information the school are trying to send, at this point you may as well go back to letters home, the new version of the app looks like it has been developed by a toddler, it’s just awful!

My kids school are changing to MCAS....and I feel that this app is rubbish. If I chose attendance on my sons profile then on the calendar it displays my daughters info I.e late, absence etc. Unless I'm missing something here I'm not liking it. And why do I have to change my profile when needing to look at one of my other children info.

The language used in this app is shocking, ableist and offensive to any parent having to provide details about their child with a disability.

Whoever scripts the drop-down menus should be required to have EDI training immediately. Describing medical notes about your child you are asked to select from a list of “problems with your child”.

There are far less problems with my child than there are with this basic discriminatory company provided to schools on a contract basis telling thousands of people that disability is a societal problem.

Shocking in these times.

I've literally had to delete this app because it is stress inducing. It's slow, it tells me when my child is late they have unauthorised absence prompting panic, the attendance percentage is ridiculous, it doesn't inspire or motivate. I'm sorry but you've got this WRONG!

shockingly poor realisation, creating more problems than it solves. navigation is poor, can't search messages, can't download PDFs from messages in browser (but can download DOCs?!), Any feedback is met with a "we've made some updates" which this user just can't see, cos it remains appalling. Schools are forced to use this, so we are forced to accept it? Wonder who is scratching who's back here?! #cynic

This site is consistently slow, hard to use both for parents and schools. There is no auto top-up feature for the food account like our schools previous system, and the user experience is just terrible.

Waste of time! Can't even sign up as app dose not recognise my email?
But will recognise the few choice words I put in the box as "NOT a correct email address." So who's email address will they recognise?
