The search wasn't as successful I thought it could be, since the records he found were lacking enough information to proceed to findings of the previous generation. He was quick enough in his responses and gave me valuable information nonetheless, as well as an extended family tree -- all of it was attained in only 1.5 hrs of research.

Niels was also honest when he got stuck and refunded me for the unused time. I would recommend My Danish Roots to anyone interested in getting information on their Danish ancestors.

The information that Niels was able to discover about my Danish family with fairly little information was remarkable. Aside from discovering more about my ancestry, I also asked if he could find contact details for my half-uncles who we had lost contact with 30 years ago. After DNA analysis we knew Ida was linked in some way to her grandmother's family, and mistakenly thought it may have been through one branch of that family, but it turned out to be a different one. I wanted to create a birthday present for a daughter in law whose great-grandfather came from Denmark. Here in the USA he used the name I had heard. I found the website My Danish Roots. I had an obituary from an old newspaper that showed that man's birthday and the age when leaving Denmark to come to the USA. My inquiry to MDR was responded to by Niels Chr. Møller Jensen. His message to me had a spirit of trustworthiness and happy helpfulness. I gave him the name, birthday and age at emigrating. He responded that he had found no one by that name, but there was a name with one letter missing and a birthdate that was close to the ones I had sent. I told NMJ that it might be him, based on info I had about the family. I was tempted to accept it. But NMJ asked for more info. I found the names of brothers and sisters on the obituary and sent those to NMJ. NMJ found these in the records! He offered again to get me more info for the very reasonable fee. I purchased the service and on the next day I had several pages of information on the family. My daughter in law will get a great surprise birthday present. The service by NMJ of My Danish Roots was first class. I shall recommend My Danish Roots to anyone who is interested in Danish family history.
