Extremely frustrating experience with the National Bank of Egypt.
Multiple transaction attempts were made on my credit cardâeven for amounts ABOVE my credit limitâand nothing was flagged or blocked.
Then suddenly, the first transaction goes through⊠WHILE Iâm literally on the phone with customer service asking them to block my card.
And it doesnât stop thereâTHREE MORE transactions were approved right after, completely draining my credit limit.
Even more alarming, all 4 successful transactions were processed from TWO DIFFERENT locations OUTSIDE Egypt at the EXACT SAME SECOND.
How does that not trigger any fraud detection system?!
And to make things worse, I was told that I canât even file
a proper complaint until the pending transactions are posted.
For comparison, banks like Commercial International Bank (CIB) usually block cards automatically from the FIRST suspicious attempt.
This raises serious concerns about real-time fraud protection and customer safety.
This needs urgent attention.

By far the worst experience with a bank. Taking a year to reset password and they simply canât manage such a simple task. I had to fly to Cairo to fix it but even then, they could not. They are so good at blaming customer and other departments.
If you ask, why I am still banking with them? I am existing but I have to fly again to Cairo.
By the way, they have a lousy Mobile Banking App.
