NSS charter misused Advanced Funds
During our charter on the NSS charter, Catamaran Lagoon 62 in Grenada, we had advanced funds to be used for a specific grocery list before our arrival. On arrival we learned that approx. $800 of the charges against our advanced funds were not for items we had ordered or consumed. When we confronted the Captain on board, his demeanour was defensive and mildly aggressive hence to avoid spoiling our holiday we waited until end of our charter to request all original invoices.
We sent a complaint to NSS charter with full documented evidence to support our claim and were given a €200 advance for a future charter for our inconvenience with no logical explanation for the obvious misuse of our funds. NSS charter also threatened legal action if I made my complaint public.
We have been chartering yachts for 35 years and this was our first experience of blatant misuse of our funds by the ships crew. Certain specifics were; charged for fruits and vegetables bought a month before our arrival which understandably would have perished, 11 gallons of exclusive olive oil for 7 day consumption, 4x quantity of bottled water we ordered/consumed, 2 months of cleaning products and the list goes on.
In conclusion, NSS charter has demonstrated that they are untrustworthy with unfair policies towards their clients
