I had booked a car with confirmed delivery at 10:30 for important work appointments.

I had already informed them the day before about the urgency and the need for punctual delivery.

The vehicle was not delivered on time due to a “technical issue” and no alternative car was provided. Despite the situation, they did not make any real effort to find a solution.

Because of this, I was forced to cancel and delay multiple important work meetings.

To make things worse, after I raised the issue, I was told they would offer me a strong discount for a monthly rental to compensate for the inconvenience. I was asked to choose a car, but in the end they simply sent me the same prices listed on their website.

Very disappointing service, poor problem management, and no real customer care.

I rented a sports car and it truly elevated my Dubai visit. The vehicle was in excellent condition and drove smoothly. It added a special toutch to my overall trip.

We rented a BMW 3 Series sedan for a long-term period. Everything went well. Manager Godfrey explained everything politely and in detail when handing over the car. What we appreciated most was that it’s possible to rent without a deposit.

I tried booking a car with them for my vacation to visit my family. They saw I was hesitant and told me they would offer me a discount. After agreeing on the price and sending them my documents, they asked me if I have an international driving license. I said no because I do not require one to drive in the UAE (I have a valid EU license). They then told me that the RTA requires me to have an IDL and that they could get me one for 200aed extra. I told them this is not true as I am up to date with RTA laws and drive with my EU license every time I visit the country.

I do not recommend booking with them. It is a waste of time and they are constantly adding hidden fees to get you to pay extra for everything.

Rented a car for a weekend, everything was perfect — quick pickup, clean vehicle. The team was responsive and professional. Would definitely use Octane again.

Renting a car in Dubai was the best decision I made. The car was delivered to me at the airport, the cabin was clean and tidy, what surprised me the most was the availability of drinking water in the cabin (it was very useful after the flight).

I visited Dubai about a month ago and rented an Audi A7 from Octane Rent for one week. The car was in great condition, and the service was smooth and reliable. Overall, I was satisfied with the experience.

Привезли ровно в то время, что обещали (редкость), документы оформили без этой офисной тоски. Короче, ощущение, что у ребят голова работает. Мне зашло).

Prices were clear (finally someone who doesn’t hide fees), the support actually replies like real humans, and they let me switch the car mid-rental without making it a whole drama. Little things, but they made the whole experience feel…

I made a mistake by taking my rental car into the desert — it was a breach of contract and carried a 2,000 AED fine, which I was willing to pay. However, what happened next was completely unacceptable.

Late at night, while we were camping, two men from Octane Rental (both Russian) drove out to our location and demanded to take the car immediately, claiming there were 10,000 AED in “damages.” They even brought a card machine to collect payment on the spot. When I refused to sign any paperwork or make a payment without proper verification, they called the police.

The police arrived and were clearly surprised by the situation. They ordered the men to leave and advised me to return the car the next day for inspection. I followed their instructions, and after a fairer review, the total costs came to 2,750 AED for minor scratches and cleaning, plus the 2,000 AED fine.

My advice:
1. Octane’s cars are GPS-tracked, so any off-road driving will be detected.
2. Be cautious — the company uses very aggressive tactics to pressure customers into paying inflated damage fees.

I've had a few bad experiences with car companies in the past. Octane on the other hand were super easy to deal with and very responsive with any queries I had.

Highly recommend and will use again if back in Dubai, I followed their rules but would recommend carrying out a thorough inspection of the car beforehand and even use a video to highlight any defects.

We had an Audi Q8 delivered to our hotel. The car was clean but had extensive paint damage. Soon we noticed it was dangerously shaking at higher speeds. The service team only responded after a lot of waiting, picked up the car from our hotel, and returned it without fixing the issue. After more calls and wasted time, we were finally able to exchange the car.

The manager promised compensation and extra options, but these turned out to be empty promises. After over 2 hours of waiting, we received a Porsche Macan – only for the last day of our vacation. All the frustration and lost time seriously ruined our trip.

Returning the car was another disaster. The pickup person arrived late, and we never saw them in person. Because we couldn’t wait longer without risking our flight, we had to park the car, leave the keys inside, and send a photo. Shortly after, we received a video showing a “new” scratch on the hood with an immediate demand to pay 315 AED, as if it had been planned in advance. And this happened despite having the Octane Shield option, which only covers incidents with a police report. Pure deception.

Octane Rent Dubai = terrible communication, unreliable service, empty promises, and unjustified damage claims.
After a lot of messages and time explaining we got the 315 AED charged for the scratch back.
