Terrible service. I paid the solicitors of octopus in full as requested at the beginning of the transaction, they then started moving the goal posts constantly for 3 months to the point where we gave the documents they requested and they asked for more and more, absolutely ridiculous, and my own solicitors advised me to approach with caution they were so bad to deal with. In the end they wanted us to pay for and supply a gas cert and EICR on a property we didn’t even own which finally pushed us over the edge.
They kept the solicitors money I paid totalling £1920, also they charged us over the usual price for a surveyor of £840! I’ve lost nearly £3000. No better than muggers on the street. Approach with caution.

They listened, they explained, they answered our questions. All simple actions. However, if you are hearing from your solicitor that loans of the kind we wanted would go wrong and we would lose the house we were buying, it was good to speak to Claire at Octopus to have the system explained, and that the process we were involved with was safe. Even better when it all went as smoothly as they explained. We had been told by friends that Octopus were trustworthy and we can confirm that 100%.

Good service, short communication lines. Sometime the process and timelines is not totally clear.

We have just had a bridging completion this week, and the whole process was swift and smooth. Clare Dunning (Credit Manager) was extremely helpful throughout, going over and above to ensure that completion took place/funds were released in time.

Excellent service from Octopus, especially Claire Dunning, she regularly went above and beyond to ensure the deal completed within timescales.

Ok at first and the rate was good. Half way through the 12 month term the company began asking me how I was redeeming the loan - this happened regularly then until in April when I was ready to redeem the loan, they hadn’t actually applied their charge to the title document and delayed me repaying them. This cost me 2 months in interest, equivalent of £2k. Not once have the even considered waiving this interest and I have had to pay it.

A complex case that was completed within 10 days. Excellent work ethic, communication and genuinely wanted to help. If they didn't go above and beyond we would have failed to meet our deadline. It was a pleasure working with you Chris, Paul, Fay, Lotty and Stephen.

very impressed with the personal service I received from Octopus Real Estate, in particular Chris Chapman. You don't expect a constant communication with a lender, and even more so from the underwriter. Chris was communicating with myself and other parties to update us, and to help us push the case on. He prevented the case from lapsing - which other lenders would have let happen. I look forward to working with you again in the future.

Just completed a finance project for one of my clients with Octopus Real Estate and the service throughout the project was excellent. Credit manager Fay Potts was always on top of the case and whenever anything needed to be actioned her communication was concise and efficient.

The project had a couple of bumps in the road towards the end but again Fays work ethic was second to none as she helped me navigate the barriers resulting in the project completing on time and happy clients. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Octopus or Fay again in the near future.
