I want to assure you that OfferUp is a free marketplace to buy and sell items locally, and you do not need to add a payment method to create listings for local pickup. A payment method is only required if you choose to offer shipping on your listings or purchase an item that requires shipping. Could you clarify what you were trying to do when prompted for your credit card?

Regarding your attempted payment: OfferUp partners with Stripe, a secure payment processor, to handle transactions. More information about our payment security can be found in this Help Center article: https://bit.ly/4gqU4dM

We also hear your feedback about PayPal; we understand that was an option on LetGo, and we appreciate you sharing your preference.

Lastly, if your experience involved pop-ups or external websites asking you to "Activate Now," it's possible you encountered a scam ad. OfferUp is actively working with our ad providers to identify and block such misleading advertisements. To clarify, TruYou is a security measure sometimes required to maintain account integrity, especially if unusual activity or multiple accounts are detected. Our team communicated to you that this was the reason why your account was flagged.

OfferUp is a mobile-first marketplace, meaning our full range of features and services are available through the app. While you can browse listings and message users from a computer, the app provides the complete OfferUp experience.

That said, for sellers who regularly post a large number of items, OfferUp for Business offers the flexibility to post and manage items in bulk directly from a laptop or desktop computer.

It appears you received a phishing link from another user, directing you to an OfferUp lookalike website. It's likely you communicated with their "support" team there, which is incredibly disheartening and certainly not the welcome we want for new users.

- Low ball offers: Some sellers add phrases like "firm on price" or "serious inquiries only" to their listing descriptions to help manage expectations. If buyers are persistent in their offers, please know you have the option to report them for making a low offer and can also block them from contacting you further.
- Delivery: As the seller, you are in control of your delivery terms. Consider stating your delivery policy in the description, whether that be "delivery available for an additional fee" or "pickup only."
