Bought the MF2028-60 last year as my first CO₂ laser. Build quality is better than I expected and it cuts plywood way cleaner than my old diode ever could. Customer support helped me with mirror alignment when I messed it up (my fault). Docking one star because the stock exhaust fan was loud and I ended up swapping it out, but overall very happy.

I’ve been using the OMTech Polar Lite


I’ve been using the OMTech Polar Lite for about 8 months now and honestly it’s been a solid little machine. Setup wasn’t totally plug-and-play, but nothing crazy if you’ve watched a few YouTube videos. Once dialed in, it engraves wood and acrylic super clean. I mainly do craft fairs and Etsy orders and it keeps up just fine. For the price, I don’t think you can beat it.

great laser, just wish i could've seen in person

I was searching around for a laser engraver for a couple months and almost made the mistake of going with an xtool! Good thing I saw a link for the OMTech and clicked on that. I've had my Pronto 75 since October, put it through around 100 hours. Machine's been working like a charm; only thing is I wish I had been able to visit a demo room host to see the machine in person. Closest one to me was over 250 miles away, and it would've been nice to see the machine before dropping $12,000.

good tech support

I bought my MF2028-60 after a lot of research. OMTech is one of the brand names that pops up frequently when I was looking for a CO2 laser, and I saw that they had active tech support and a substantial user base. My MF has been working well for the past couple of months - with my Monport, they've been helping me keep up with my signage production.

forget xtool, save ur money and go with omtech

started out with xtool, looking for a diode. worst mistake of my life! ran 3 pieces of product and the machine quit working. the xtool customer service is the worst, you get about one email a day since their support is overseas. returned it, moved onto a glowforge, ran it for a couple months, logged about 100 hrs then the laser tube ran out. the laser tube was irreplaceable, so my money was wasted. finally, i checked customer reviews and found omtech. i didn't want to get myself into the same pickle as last time, so i called the sales and tech support lines. to my surprise, they picked up! i got the MF1220-50, and it's been working great for the past year. the laser's still going strong, but i know if something goes out, i can contact customer support easily.

good machine for upgrades

Made the decision to purchase the MF2028 about a year ago. once I got the laser, I got it up and running fairly quick. factory preset for mirrors was pretty spot on, just had to adjust a bit and it took less than 30 minutes. I upgraded the mirrors and lenses after a couple months, changed the noisy inline fan, and still using the same included water chiller. Overall, a good experience and a good starter machine to upgrade, if you're into that.

decent laser machine for price

You get what you pay for, which is a decent laser machine that gets the job done. Omtech is reasonably priced for decent quality. Even if you do have an issue with your machine, if you're somewhat handy, you should be able to fix things if you contact tech support.

Zeer tevreden

Top co² laser van 60 wat gekocht in Mei 2024. Mijn volgende laser wordt zeker ook een van Omtech, Klantenservice vanuit Duitsland heeft me prima geholpen met mijn vragen. De laser is nu 1.5 jaar oud en is nog in perfecte staat.

issues with pro, but got machine replaced

i got the pro 3655 for my home business, even cleared out the garage to make room for this behemoth. i only logged around 30 minutes onto this machine before it broke on me. every time i used the autofocus, the bed would go completely out of alignment. i'm talking the left side went completely up. I talked to jessie from tech support and she recommended that i level out the bed, but i told her i wasn't going to spend 45 minutes trying to fix the bed only for it to pop out of place the second i hit the autofocus. luckily my machine was still under warranty, so i was able to send my pro back. i opted to get the pronto 60 instead, and this baby has made everything worth it. i wish i had just gotten the pronto in the first place, but i'm glad omtech was able to make it right.

purchased the MF1624-60

purchased the MF1624-60. The Omtech is far more durable than my old machine, although it has the same workspace. It's good that the Omtech is primarily made of steel rather than plastic like my old lasers, and replacement components are far less expensive. I am content with my machine's power and upkeep.

great customer support!

In Janurary, i faced a computer connection issue with my Omtech laser. After several rounds of back and forth with their support team, they confirmed it was a warranty covered problem, thank God!
Omtech sent me a brand new Polar at no cost and even provided a shipping label to return the old one!

I own two OMTech lasers

I own two OMTech lasers — a 60W and an 80W — and I absolutely love them. Both machines are reliable, powerful, and deliver consistent, professional results. The 60W is great for detailed engraving, while the 80W handles thicker materials and larger projects with ease. They’ve been a great value for the performance they offer and have become essential tools in my workshop. I’m already dreaming of adding a fiber laser to the mix next.

After I left a negative review about Omtech’s customer service and my Omtech Polar, a company representative began calling me repeatedly and left numerous voicemails. When I finally returned the call and spoke with “Olivia,” it felt like reliving my original, frustrating service experience.

The service representative had no real knowledge of the machine, sounded as though she was reading from a script, and at one point even tried to transfer me to a sales rep so I could “upgrade” to a more expensive model. When she called again, the connection kept cutting in and out, making communication impossible. I’m fairly certain Omtech’s customer service is based overseas and that their representatives are simply following a rigid flowchart script.

Beware! If you purchase this machine, you’re essentially on your own. Should any issues or questions arise, Omtech will not provide meaningful support. Were it not for YouTube tutorials, my Omtech Polar would be nothing more than a giant paperweight. It’s also disappointing that Omtech appears to have abandoned offering replacement parts or upgrades specifically for the Polar.

Save yourself the frustration and get an XTool instead.
