First time ever going to this business and it was to use the indoor range - so the Shop and Cafe experience is not included in my review.

As a non member £15 per hour is quite expensive, membership is £60 (I assume annually) and then it would be £10 per hour - which is still quite expensive when i compare to my usual outdoor gun club.

I booked online, This is a doddle, pick the date, time and lane you want and I paid with PayPal but other options are available.

I travelled from Leicester - the journey was about an hour, got off the M1 at junction 15 and the range is just 10 minutes from that point - so really easy to find - and get back on the motorway when done.
Parking outside the range is a bit tight but thats not something the business can do much about but i doubt its going to be a big problem.

Very friendly staff on entering, took me through to the range and explained their facilities and how the target system works to attach my A3 size Benchrest Targets to - staff even brought me additional clips to fix the target properly.

I had a two hour session 1300hrs to 1500hrs, mid way point I fancied a cup of tea - and all you have to do is tell the staff - who are based right outside the door to the range and they go get it for you and bring it to your table - and just £1.10 a cup - very reasonable - and the staff are pleasant - happy to be helping you.

I had lane 5, a friend had lane 4 - I must say lanes 1 to 3 were occupied by three very friendly chaps - regulars they said, they were a pleasure to be shooting with - they had decent kit too.

It was "free" air - cylinders provided, I liked the auto Range Target system - clip your target card and press the button - and away it goes to the 25 yard mark - brilliant.

Just two observations On Target should look at to make the range a bit better.
The table tops we shoot from - they aren't deep enough - with a proper front rest once the rifle is in position the back of the rifle is overshooting the table top by at least a foot so it makes shooting with a rear bag - or in my case a gloved hand for NSRA rules a tad uncomfortable and difficult - (which obviously i will blame for some of my poorer shots - just kidding.)

Lanes 1 to 3 all had extensions on their table tops and the chap on table one offered me a sit at his lane to feel the difference - it was great - and thats how all the lanes should be but these extensions are left at the club in the corridor to the toilets for anyone who wants to use them - i would have though doing all 5 lanes and leaving them in position would be best.

The 2nd observation - the target lighting - It isn't good, not terrible but not good either. The Blue on a benchrest target in parts looks washed out - a sort of grey - indeed i thought perhaps the toner had run out on my printer but this is the lighting issue, The targets are not directly lit - they are too far away from the light source or the source isn't bright enough.

And that's it. A good session with a couple of minor criticisms which i hope On Target address. If the tables and the lighting is fixed I will join as a member and will have a monthly visit - Its an expensive shoot to do it more regularly than once a month for me, but it was a pleasure to have shot there, with good company and very good staff, so thank you all.

BOOKED A LANE ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON, ALSO TOOK MY MDE 4 Lr CYLINDER FOR RECHARGE WHILST SHOOTING.
LEFT AT 1400hrs ON GETTING HOME WENT TO RECHARGE MY PCP RIFLE [REXIMEX MYTH] RATED 250 BAR, COULD ONLY CHARGE TO 180 BAR.
RANG ONTARGET TO ASK 'WHY THEY SAY THEY CHARGE TO 300 BAR & DON'T. THE ANSWER I GOT WAS MY CYLINDER MUST BE FAULTY & TO GET IT CHECKED.
DISGUSTING ATTITUDE & SERVICE, I DON'T THINK THEY ATEMPTED TO CARGE THE CYLINDER BUT TOOK £8 FOR IT.
NEAREST RECHARGE SHOP IS IN KETTERING 14 MILES AWAY, I WILL USE THEM THE TWICE A YEAR I NEAD RECHARGE.
ONTARGET HAS LOST A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER & I'VE TOLD MY OTHER SHOOTING BUDIES, SOME HAVE HAD SAME TREATMENT & GO TO MILTON KEYNES NOW.

Well been shooting airguns for donkeys years.this looks a nice place for a plink.
And to zero your equipment.
Nice friendly bunch there.
Will be coming back with my rifles for a plink one evening

I purchased a rifle from this company with no issues. I spoke with 2 members of staff by phone and both were very pleasant. The RFD transfer was quick and again no issues. Based upon my experience I would use them again.

Very unprofessional. Witnessed a member of staff swear at a customer today.

I don't believe other people's tales of wow, my experience Is 100% positive, the help the advice they gave during the purchasing process was nothing I had experienced before they where patient, professional at all times, the experience was like I had been a customer for ages, again when a small issue raised it was delt with instantly I cannot fault ontarget in anyway. Don't believe what others have said, try for your self. You will not regret it.

The customer service is absolutely terrible after having a problem and needing to return parts and he was nothing but rude and the furthest thing from understanding i will not be returning and i wouldn’t recommended anyone go there to save them the hassle.

absolutely terrible!!!! my son purchased an air rifle a week or so before xmas from on target ,at a cost of £550 with some accessories that he asked them to fit, first shot on the range at poddington,guns jammed,won’t cycle pellets, three hour shoot ends up sharing my gun,so we take it back to on target,to have them take a look at it,as it‘s brand new to see if they know what the problem is,and to my amazement they accuse him of breaking it on purpose. After a very uncomfortable conversation they agreed to have their gunsmith take a look at it to “find out what you’ve done to it” they said “we’ll ring you once he‘s looked at it” three weeks pass,no phone call. So his mum goes in with him as moral support,as up to this point they have been nothing short of hard work and down right unpleasant,the guy behind the counter hands him the gun back and says its fixed so there’s no problem. My son at this point asks what was the problem,and the guy tells him that when they fitted the sound moderator he purchased as an extra they had screwed the barrel in too far when fitting it which had jammed the mechanism and that’s why it wouldn’t cycle, so no sorry for accusing him of damaging it as it turns out its actually their fault, and gave him the attitude of here’s your gun now do one. Now at this point my son has spent £550 on a gun and accessories that he’s fired once,been accused of damaging it and been without it for 3 weeks because of their incompetence. So he then asks “my confidence in this gun is not geart at this point would you be willing to let me put some more money towards it and get a gun that’s less likely to jam,as this one after four weeks of owning it has fired one pellet due to it being broken the whole time.” and the answer was, “we’ll buy it off you for £160“ which is £400 less than he paid them for it four weeks earlier and the only use it had seen was one pellet pass through the barrel and spent the rest of the time on their floor waiting to be fixed. Now I‘ve been to on target a few times found the facilities to be very good but after this I personally will never go there or buy a gun or any accessories from them ever again, they were very keen to take his money but the after sale was nothing short of a joke. Shame on you On Target!!! if your going to buy a new gun my advice to you is go anywhere else don’t waste your time with these clowns.
After this experience when I’m at a clay shoot or rifle range I’m making it my life’s work to tell as many people about the outrageous after sales my lad was subjected to.

I recently purchased an ATA air rifle from on target, very helpful, there was a problem with the filling adaptor, this was sorted quickly and without a fuss, I would certainly deal with them again even though they are nearly a two hour drive.

Great place to shoot helpful staff well stocked shop will be going more often. 10/10.

Made my first trip here today, helpful and friendly staff who seem to be happy to help, pretty good range on sale and the prices are reasonable.

Had a coffee and a sandwich (both reasonably priced) while waiting for a bottle refill.

I look forward to subsequent visits and will hopefully have enough time to get a lane for an hour's shooting.

Update - I made my second visit this evening for an hour's shooting, Very helpful staff who are enthusiastic and very helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, I will be returning!
