Great Week away
Used on the beach for a weeks holiday in Lanzarote at the end of may.
No problems at all, easy to book, good payment plans no issues with anything had great week away and have booked again in September

I liked the range of facilities that On the Beach had available via their website.
I didn't like the fact that over the couple of days I was looking at the holiday the price kept going up and when I did finally book my €100 welcome bonus for activating an account was not deducted from the total bill...it appears to be still sitting on my account.

The booking process was extremely simple and clear. A great company for prices and deposit. We booked a year in advance and will continue to do this from now on. This is my first experience booking with on the beach and I am more than happy with the service this far.

Just hassle from the beginning with zero communication
Flight with sun express on way back was delayed by over 5 hours! As a result we landed at 2am with no trains running. Had to get a taxi back at the eye watering cost of £130! We want to receive compensation for this element but trying to contact them is an absolute farce! There is no way of getting hold of anyone! I have no idea how they get away with it
i have been all around the houses - phoning and being linked back to your live chat which IS NOT EVEN WORKING!! Trying to contact anyone is ridiculous
Please can you respond and let me know how I go about this before I escalate this further - not impressed

Flight cancellation
My booking isn’t until the end of August. Everything looks fine on the app. No cancellations. I went to book our seats for the flights and it would allow me to do it for the outbound flight but not the inbound. So I decided to go straight to the SunExpress website and attempt to book the same flights to see their availability. As it turns out, there are no flights on the date I booked to return home. Which explains why on the beach wouldn’t allow me to book any seats. I have confirmed with SunExpress that my flight must have been cancelled. On the beach have not contacted me nor changed any detail on my booking. The only way to contact them is via an automated chat which isn’t helpful at all. I now have to wait 7 days for a response and from what I’ve read, they do not respond. So now I’m in limbo with what to do. I can’t cancel the booking because I won’t receive a refund even though I know it has been cancelled. This is the first time I have booked through on the beach and this has definitely put me off from booking again.

I did forget to use my €100 credit when booking recently. However, this was remedied by the team (although I was in a chat queue for 2.5 hours)

Live seat function availability
Please add a live seat-selection feature during the holiday booking process, similar to Loveholidays. As disabled travelers, we require extra legroom seats. Currently, we must open a dummy booking, check the airline's site for seat availability, return to your site to book the holiday, and then log into the airline to buy the seats. This multi-step process is a major accessibility barrier. Booking flights and seats together would fix this pain point.

The process of booking was well done and the choice of hotels was good. Te hotel eas good except for the first night when they put us in a tiny room with a very large concrete pillar in the room, bedside the bed. They changed the room the next day when we complained. The food was good. The staff were very nice and professional. We would use OTB Again.

On site holiday rep maybe? How about a telephone for customers to call. Do you think a 4 hour wait for your online chat is acceptable. How about returning holiday deposits to peoples accounts when they cancel holidays. I had to give a bad review just for my refund to be sent back.

Appalling Customer Service
I have booked with onthebeach.ie previously. The booking process is straightforward and everything seems positive. Until! I received an email from Ryan Air advising my return flight in November has been brought forward by 2 days. I contacted OTB on 2nd May via live chat which isn't actually live but a BOT. I received no response until 1st June from a no reply email address, with a subject line "Urgent" advising me to review the email received from the airline and let OTB know immediately via the OTB Portal so that they can update the accommodation reservation. The only option to let them know is via Live Chat which you keep going around in circles. When I advised "Sunny" the BOT that I wished to make a complaint I was then advised Live chat was closed even though this was before 18:30 as indicated on the website. I tried again this morning and the wait time was 1-3 hours to speak to a person. I have just tried again now and the wait time is 3-5 Hours. It is appalling for any Company to think that any Customer seeking assistance should have to sit in a chat queue for 3-5 Hours, there is no excuse for this, none whatsoever. My previous chat timed out in any case. So here is my booking Reference:MYB14930813B and I trust that somebody at some point will contact me to confirm that you have updated my accommodation to reflect the new flight schedule and any difference in monies for two nights accommodation will be reflected. I should not have to resort to leaving a negative review to gain assistance, however after a month waiting for a response, to then be left with no realistic support from OTB via the website other than to sit in a chat queue for up to 5 hours. I wait in hope for some meaningful contact.
