My wife and I both went through Ophelia…
My wife and I both went through Ophelia because, at the time, it seemed like the right option for us to get treatment. We each had ONE initial Zoom appointment. Neither of us ever went back for a second visit because we didn't need it.
During that first visit, my wife was prescribed three 8 mg Suboxone films per day for 7 days. I saw a different doctor and was prescribed one 8 mg film per day for 7 days.
Our insurance apparently didn't cover the visits. I received a bill for $390, while my wife's bill was only $206.
How does that work?
We both had ONE Zoom visit through the same program. My wife was prescribed three times as much medication as I was, yet somehow my bill was almost twice hers.
I feel like I'm being ripped off, and I want an explanation of exactly what the $390 charge is for and why the same type of initial visit resulted in such drastically different bills for my wife and me.
Maybe there is a legitimate explanation, but none was made clear to us. From where I'm sitting, something about this billing doesn't add up, and I don't appreciate it at all.
So be careful before using Ophelia. Ask exactly what your visit is going to cost, what your insurance will cover, and what you could be responsible for paying out of pocket. I wish we had known to ask these questions beforehand because I certainly wasn't expecting a $390 bill for one Zoom appointment.
