I registered for the cybersecurity…
I registered for the cybersecurity program sometime in August 2024. The few classes I attended were interactive and enlightening. Unfortunately I couldn’t continue due to some health reasons. It was not an easy time but Dean Wood was very professional and empathetic. He gave me some concessions and opportunities to make adjustments so I am able to carry on with the program however things took a different turn that I could not continue. Through these periods several appointments were booked for me to help manage the situation.
Customer service I would say was excellent.

I was misled and pressured into signing…
I was misled and pressured into signing up for a course that was not what I was told it would be. During the onboarding process, I was given conflicting information by different staff members about the length, content, and structure of the course. What was verbally promised — full training over six months — was later contradicted in a Zoom call where I was told it would be just three months with self-led lab sessions.
Despite submitting a written cancellation within the legal 14-day cooling-off period and not accessing any course content, Optima has refused to honour it. They are now relying on an alleged recorded phone call to override my written cancellation — which is completely unacceptable and goes against their own Terms & Conditions, which clearly state cancellations must be made in writing.
This has been an incredibly stressful experience. I have raised complaints with Trading Standards, the Financial Ombudsman Service, and Payment Assist. No one should be pressured into signing a document during a live call, misinformed about what they are paying for, and then denied their legal rights.
I would strongly advise others to avoid this provider. Their tactics are aggressive, misleading, and dismissive of consumer protections.

I understand that you originally enquired about an AI Academy (which features 6 months of training), however you later signed up for an AWS Architect course, which is possible to finish in just 3.
All of our training is self paced, and it's possible for you to extend your learning over whatever period of time that you need to be comfortable before taking exams.
Our resolutions team have been trying to book a call with you so we can come to a fair resolution for both parties - please take advantage of this opportunity an we'll be happy to assist in any way that we can

My names Omari Wellington. Steve Benfield dealt with my case and he was an extremely sincere and understanding person towards my unfortunate unforeseen situation of an ankle break. Even though I was put in a predicament of not being able to pay towards the course for quite some time due to my injury, Steve remained patient, allowed me to get back on my feet and helped me get back on track again.

It's been difficult starting my course…
It's been difficult starting my course as im still serving in the military and I'm constantly being deployed at short notice. Despite being enrolled already Steve Benfield has been absolutely helpful regarding moving me to another cohert which would allow me to start my course at the ideal time.
Student support service 10/10.
With this being said, the customer service, understanding, clarity and communication has always been 10/10.
I couldn't ask for a better service.

DONT TRUST
I enrolled in this course in November as they promised us a 6 months course, only 10h studies per week, entry-level salaries from £50,000 and, most importantly, beginner friendly. I then discovered that this is totally the opposite and they charge a great deal of money. Most of the students managed to drop but some of us are stuck here, with cases opened here and there, trying to escape this nightmare. Not sure where they got their positive reviews from.

I'm sorry that your training experience with Optima seems to have been so troubled, however I must congratulate you on your recent exam pass! I'm so pleased you managed to perservere and get some of the results that you were looking for.
I'm sure that you can appreciate that everyone learns at a different pace and in a different way, we absolutely have students who only commit 10h a week but we pride ourselves on the flexibility of our courses and a students ability to take as long as they need.

A greedy company that value your money…
A greedy company that value your money over anything else. Poor course structure and whatever they promise you to sign up is not true. Policies are made to hook your funds and you can’t get refunds. 2years counting…I am still dragged to pay for a course I attend once and gave up and request to cancel but am not allowed because my 14days period finished before I could even attend the course reasonably to know what is about truly. If you doubt my experience with them, ask for a trial classes before committing to the course not an arranged one but with an ongoing one. And do not sign that credit agreement they send to you with a third party company because when you do, there is no going back. They get paid and you end up dealing with a third party, paying for a course that is of a poor quality

Misleading Sales Tactics, Poor Support – I Strongly Advise Against This Course
I want to warn others about my experience with this company. They promote a 14-day cancellation policy, but what they don’t make clear enough is that this period begins on the date you sign up, not when the course actually starts. In my case, I enrolled and paid, but the course didn’t begin for another two months. By the time I realised the quality was so poor, it was too late to get a refund. How is anyone supposed to know they won't want to continue before even starting?
When I enrolled, I was very clear with the sales representative that I have dyslexia and need more structured, supported learning. I was promised extra help and was assured that if I was struggling, I could withdraw. In reality, that support never materialised.
All learning is done online and you are essentially left to teach yourself. The so-called study sessions are just unfocused group discussions about random topics, offering no real guidance or teaching. For someone with dyslexia, this format is completely unsuitable, and despite raising this repeatedly, I received no meaningful accommodation or help.
What’s worse is that despite being promised flexibility and understanding, I’ve now discovered I am locked into paying for a £5,000 course I can’t even use. The company has shown no willingness to help or refund me, even though I explained my circumstances clearly when signing up.
I find this behaviour incredibly disappointing and, frankly, unethical. While they may be an AI company, a little human decency would go a long way. I strongly urge anyone considering signing up to think very carefully before handing over their money.

We do want to clarify a few points about your time with us. You’ve actually received very positive feedback from both mentors and instructors about your progress on the course. It’s clear from those sessions that you’ve been engaging well with the material and developing your skills, which we’re pleased to see.
In terms of course resources, the majority of our learning content is provided in video format to support different learning styles, and there are free accessibility tools available to read out any written content for those who need it. For exams, we also make arrangements for additional time for students with dyslexia or other learning needs, which remains available to you.
We understand you raised concerns about support, and while we have reached out on several occasions to arrange help, a number of these support calls were cancelled on your side, which has made it difficult for us to provide the consistent, structured assistance you deserve. Our team remains available and willing to help should you wish to re-engage with us.
Regarding the 14-day cancellation period, we do communicate that this begins from the point of enrolment as required by consumer protection regulations. That said, we acknowledge this might not have been made as clear as it should have been during your sign-up and we’ll review how this is explained going forward.
We’re grateful for your feedback and would still welcome the chance to discuss how we might better support you. If you’re open to it, please get in touch directly so we can arrange a proper conversation.

Again, a five star
Again, a five star! If people doubt about how genuine my review is, they can go to my LinkedIn.
I have completed 4 AWS certifications already, 3 with Optima. Because instead of evaluating my instructors, I listened to them knowing they know better! I also read a lot, did a lot of labs, did a lot of CloudQuest, create my own architecture and projects.
Scoring 85% to unlock the vouchers is not that terrible, I've scored 95% before even for the Data Engineers Associate mock exams.
The customer support has always been excellent for me. Zoe and Lambe are always willing to help; and recently Steve has been very helpful for my exam vouchers. I had to reschedule one of my exams and lost the voucher and they didn't mind issuing a new voucher.
And now, I'm mentoring and getting more confident in my communication skills and planning. It's like getting 2 in one.
