The Piano Pig Academy is a great source of reference and professionally guided instruction. It teaches you the fundamentals of Jazz and other styles. We have a great community interaction from all over the world, and we do live video calls regularly. I have been an Academy member for a few years. Really love Piano Pig the structure is unencumbered by must or have to scenarios, I’m learning at my own pace.

The instruction is self-paced and age appropriate. As an older player, my first assignment was to learn Bag's Blues rather than chopsticks or Little Brown Jug. When I'm behind in my lessons, I receive encouraging notes from Simon - my instructor. Despite the obstacles of learning online from the other side of the world, this is a personable and fun experience!

Simon is the real deal. He cares about his students and has created some thoughtful and progressive material that should benefit students at many levels.

I highly recommend Piano Pig Academy to anyone looking for an affordable option that will teach you how to improvise and play Blues and Jazz on the piano.
My piano skills are limited. I was taught how to read classical sheet music for around 1.5 years, with little focus on chords, chord progressions, or how to play a song using a lead sheet. Simon covers all this and gives a Roadmap based on the student’s experience level to streamline the process.

Mi piace il modo semplice e chiaro e pratico di insegnamento. Mi piacerebbe trovare più approfondimento sui voicings (con shape accattivanti e sofisticati), riarmonizzare melodie, creare un percorso analogo a quello degli standard ma rivolto a neo soul, nu jazz (con brani, materiali ed esercizi, basi). Questo si farebbe la differenza!! E lo troverei più nello spirito "piano pig" !!

The lessons divide difficult tasks into sensible little achievable tasks and shows you exactly how to practice which is really important if you're a self-taught pianist. I've tried four other online piano courses before. Pianopig is the only one with which I can see real improvement.

Having moved form one of the more generic online training sites the difference is significant. A clear structured learning pathway, presented in an inspirational manner with great clarity has improved both my confidence and actual playing. Simon is warm, clearly skilled and knowledgeable and very approachable and supportive. I would highly recommend Piano Pig to anyone wanting to learn piano in a progressive manner which holds interest and gives a sense of a solid foundation and achievement.

If you want to learn Blues, Jazz and build up a repertoire accompanied by skillfully worked in exercises to improve your dexterity in triads and seventh chords try this out. I am not a beginner and an advanced piano player but I really enhance my abilities with it. Follow the Road Map and you’ll be fine.

The Piano Pig academy's method of teaching is fantastic, I have learned more in a few months with Simon's teaching than I did in years of piano lessons.

The step by step programme is very cleverly designed to suit from beginner to maestro. Simon is very knowledgeable in every aspect of music, and he passes his vast knowledge of music in a very easy to understand and relaxed manner.

Don't waste your time with random YouTube videos, get a professional course and teacher in PianoPigAcademy. It's really good.

I really like Simon's teaching style and the way the lessons are structured. They are relatively short and focus on one or two ideas at a time. He explains concepts and ideas really well. It's really helpful in terms of making steady progress and not getting too overwhelmed. The backing tracks that he provides are also really good. The new roadmap course has helped me heaps with my improvisation which is something I have previously struggled with.

Piano pig Academy is educational, encouraging, with an active social community. Simon, is an online, hands on teacher. He has not only group chats but individual zoom meetings as well. Plus members have so may interesting conversations. The Roadmap shows you how to practice and apply your knowledge in the "real" world. I encourage you to give Piano Pig Academy a try.

your a good teacher Simon able to impart instructions and you enjoy what your doing.I feel comfortable and relaxed following your videos because I can play them repeatedly without feeling guilty.I use my ears and sound is important and I take my time.I am travelling to N Z for 3 weeks and will miss practice which is a shame because my memory lets me down

I've attended several piano courses in my life. PianoPig goes straight to the point if you want to learn jazz and funky/soul piano. There are a ton of things to know really to play this genre, its a long journey and there are no shortcuts. This course is the best I've seen to go straight to the point in learning these genres. Deep enough in theory and practice, but without getting you lost in infinite amount of theory, scales and so on. Mind you, you still have to work hard to move on - this is how it works for improving piano playing - but at PianoPig everything is condensed in a brilliant way showing you the really important aspects to focus on in order to play jazz&soulful piano.

For the past 4 years I've struggled with learning to play Jazz. Transforming from a classical style of playing into the Jazz genre is like starting from scratch. The only skill I had was reading notes. I had not played piano for 20 years so I had to relearn to read notes as well.

I tried 3 other membership corses. The past 2 years I've been a member of another online instructor such as Simon. However, my progress was too slow and I found myself really discouraged. I thought, "I really need a plan". Inside these memberships you get lost. And due to knowing how to read notes, play classical (beginner) I was confused further into where to start, what to practice. On top of that I have a chronic illness that affects my ability to sit up for long stretches of time. So every 30-60 minutes of playing time must count.

Literally the week I started thinking about needing a plan, Simon sends out an email about his Roadmap. I took his offer for the trial month and that first week I knew he figured out what was missing. I see progress in several ways. Now I understand and "feel" the difference. To stick to a plan you need to be motivated. This roadmap is wonderfully rewarding, highly motivating.

Thankyou so much Simon for your roadmap. I love playing the piano and I've started having fun with improvisation. But what I really am so happy about is I now know I'll be progressively improving over the next year, rather than feeling stuck at the same skill level.

A very well constructed programnot to mention very enjoyable. This is the real deal. You will really understand the concepts Simon is trying to convey. What did I not sign up earlier? I wasted precious years of trying to study piano from different online lessons but Piano Pig is my emancipator and enabler. You will learn and enjoy a lot, guaranteed! Million thanks Simon.
