I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service and overall experience I have had with Pit Boss Grills. The events surrounding my purchase, as well as the subsequent customer service interactions, have been beyond disappointing and have left a lasting negative impression on your company.
My wife purchased a Pit Boss grill for me as a Christmas gift, but the lack of communication and transparency regarding shipping completely ruined her holiday. She was informed that the grill would arrive after Christmas. However, two days before Christmas, I witnessed a delivery vehicle unloading the marked grill. This was confusing and upsetting for my wife, as she had been checking the shipping information through the store and received no updates. Adding insult to injury, she later checked your website and discovered that the price of the grill had dropped by $100.
When I assembled the grill, I attempted to use the instructional videos provided on your app, but they were inaccessible and did not work properly. Thankfully, I was able to find videos on YouTube. Once assembled, I discovered that the grill's control board was not functioning correctly. This led to a frustrating series of attempts to contact customer service, which took two days to get through.
While I eventually received a replacement control board, it took an unacceptably long time to arrive, again without any tracking information provided. Unfortunately, this replacement did not resolve the issue. After another round of calls to customer support, I was informed that a heat probe would be sent as a solution. However, five days later, I still had no shipping information and had to follow up again.
During my most recent call, the customer service agent attempted to blame weather conditions for the delay. However, this excuse fell apart when I explained that I live in Florida and the part was shipping from Georgia, where bad weather did not occur until three days after my order. The agent was left without a response, which was both frustrating and unprofessional.
This entire experience has been a nightmare, confirming the concerns my wife had about Pit Boss's reputation for poor customer service. I regret not heeding those warnings. Furthermore, it is disheartening to learn that Pit Boss does not meet the Better Business Bureau's standards for trust.
At this point, I cannot recommend Pit Boss grills to anyone. The combination of poor product quality, lack of communication, and subpar customer service has left me with nothing but a metal box in my backyard that does not work as advertised.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and work to improve the overall customer experience. No one should have to go through what we endured, especially when making a significant purchase.

bought the copperhead smoker for thanksgiving. It worked one time. Control board went out and has been on back order since. I saw posts from 2021 that control boards were on backorder and they blamed it on covid pandemic. What is the excuse now. I missed using a smoker for 3 Holiday meals now probably miss the Superbowl meal too. After raising hell with customer service they offered me some spices and told me to wait. What good are smoker spices going to do without a smoker. It has been almost 2 months now. By the way the one time I used it on 2 turkeys, they weren't half as good as ones I cooked on a masterbuilt smoker. Don't waste your money.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a Pit Boss Grill. The companyâs return policy is a complete nightmare. Once youâve bought the item, youâre essentially stuck with it, as they do not allow returns without charging you hefty return fees. On top of that, the burden of handling everythingâfrom arranging the return to covering all shipping costsâfalls entirely on the customer.
This level of customer service is unacceptable. A company that doesnât stand behind its products and makes the return process this difficult does not deserve anyoneâs business. I strongly urge anyone considering a purchase to look elsewhere. Save yourself the hassle and frustration.

Reading the poor reviews on your site about Pit Boss grills, I'm astounded. I've had mine for 4-1/2 years, and recently I've had a few issues - the combustion fan stopped, and the firepot has burned through in a few places. I called Pit Boss, they cheerfully and quickly sent the replacement parts at no charge. Then, after replacing the fan, the circuit board went out; I called again and they promptly sent that out, too. No weaseling around, trying to blame the problem on me, or anything like that - just prompt, cheerful service.
I've had nothing but excellent service from them and highly recommend their product.

Bought a Pitt Boss Smoker PBV3A1 from Menards on 6/16/24. Used it once until today Thanksgiving. Temperature gauge on front of smoker never got above 180 degrees. Called service at Pit Boss and Representative told me that basically the thermostat is a decoration piece. Started smoking 4 turkey breasts at 11:20 am and it was 5:15 PM by the time they were done. Ended up having to cover both vents on the back to keep the heat in. Temperature outside was never below 34 degrees the whole time. Had to go buy a stove thermometer and stuck my fryer temperature probe thru the aluminum foil I covered the vent with. $277 piece of junk and I'm stuck with it

Brand new Laredo 1000 used for maybe 10 cooks control board went bad been on back order over 2 months pit boss says nothing they can or will do until new control boards come in. 1) Installation took 11 hours
1) Installation took 11 hours, not the 2 Pit Boss promotes 2) The heavy upper lid fell off in the middle of a smoke. It was really hot. As a temporary fix, a friend held it up and I stuck an icepick to finish the grill. The grill literally melted the nut 3) Before the next smoke, the other nut and bolt on the other side of the lid broke 4) Yesterday, the fan quit working. I spent nearly an hour on my back this morning in the dirt taking the electronics and cables apart and reassembling as instructed by the rep, then while the unit was extremely hot and the 11 lb. brisket was on the grill, Pit Boss support made me take the entire bottom on the grill apart including the upper grates. 5) Pit Boss will send me the bolts, however, they are out of stock for likely a month 6) In a second call today, the tech support rep figured out that the circuit board needs to be replaced 7) As with all manufacturing and quality problems with this Pit Boss 1250, I have to do everything. They will not send a rep to fix these 8) With all of the problems this morning, the 11 lb, $50 brisket was ruined because of Pit Boss problems - 100%. Even though the reps admit these were all Pit Boss problems, they won't pay for the ruined brisket. I am demanding a new, fully assembled Pit Boss 1250 Premium delivered to my house and this faulty, 200 lb Plus unit taken away. I do have to say that their phone support reps are outstanding. And I just discovered with multiple Temp gauges that the Pit Boos temp gauges are off by 30%. There is no way to cook brisket or pork butt with this much error
Do not order anything online
Placed an online order, they charged my card immediately and over two weeks later no communication. I went to their website and it took a while to find support. Opened a chat and they said they would send it out. i asked for an eta and they said:
"I do not have that eta -- I am very sorry for the hurdles, if you needed to opt to cancel and refund I too can help with that -- "
Wow, really? I guess they do not care... last online order they will ever get from me. There is no excuse for this.
Poor service from parts dept
I have owned a pitboss pellet grill for five years. It has given me good service and would rate the grill five stars. BUT, I needed a part then things went down hill to one star for parts dept. I ordered part Aug. 10 and it is now Oct. 7 and I have seen no part or heard anything from pitboss.
Registered two month old pit boss 1150 pro series
I have a registered two month old pit Boss grill. The control board went out. The chatbot does not work at pit boss site. After 45 minutes on hold I finally got a customer service rep on the phone. I showed him the control board shorted out through a cell phone camera. I was told a new power cord and a control board would be sent. Complete outright lie, After two more weeks I went on-line and ordered the control board that the parts order replacement site says will work in my grill. $194.00 more later with shipping the control board that I paid for arrives yesterday. All the wires hook up but the control box will not fit in the place of the bad control box. I checked again to make sure I ordered the right board according to the Pit Boss site. The site even shows the grill I own and according to their own parts replacement I ordered the correct control board . The replacement board sent is too large Absolutely will not fit. Now pit boss says no returns on any electrical parts. Pit Boss brags a big warranty when in reality it's a big lie period

My wife got me a small Pit Boss PB600 model, won with a $20 raffle ticket. Ain't nuthin better than a bone-in ribeye, 20 minutes on each side at 250 on the top rack, then reverse-seared for a few minutes on each side at 400, using a 50-50 mix of hickory and cherry pellets.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Smoker is less than 90 days old and has been used 4 times. Smoker malfunctioned and the pellet hopper ended up catching on fire. Customer service even agreed this is what happened and it is ongoing issue with their product but was told it could not be replaced. If I trouble shoot the problems on video conference for them they might send me some replacement parts and I could repaint it if I chose but they are not allowed to replace full units under any circumstances.

Absolutely horrible company. Ordered a griddle cover from them on July 16 of 2024 and as of the end of August I'm still waiting for it. Have contacted them numerous times and it's nothing but excuses. Busy grilling season, backed up on orders, built a new warehouse, blah blah blah. First I was told they got my order and it's in stock. Then I was told item had been picked. Then I was told it was packed and waiting on carrier. Still no one can tell me when I will receive it or when it will ship. Asked to talk to a manager, after a run around they were going to get one. He never came to the phone and didn't want to speak to me as there was nothing more he could do or tell me. Absolutely horrible customer service. Will never buy another item from pit boss or its affiliated companies ever again. You should be ashamed of yourselves as a company the way you treat people and your service to your customers!!! I would give no stars if that was an option.

Terrible machine
Terrible machine. I have the mahogany one. Ive tried upgrading the control panel and it still doesn't hold temperature properly. Set at 180 p4 and it cranks itself up to 225 and any time it drops below 215 it cranks itself to 230 and hovers at 225. Ive tried other p settings but nothing works. I bought it new in 2021 or 2022 but this has been an ongoing issue since new. I've talked to pit boss and they have been less than helpful. I'll never buy another one and hopefully no one else does till they figure out how to make a machine that works properly.
