**Rock-solid platform – replaced VMware in my environment without hesitation**

I’ve been running Proxmox VE in my environment for some time now, and I can honestly say I would never go back to ESXi.

The platform is stable, flexible, and does exactly what it says on the tin. From day-to-day management to more complex setups, it’s been consistently reliable and straightforward to work with.

My current setup supports a fairly demanding home lab, including ZFS storage, Docker workloads, and multiple VMs, all running smoothly without the friction I’ve experienced with other platforms.

Having worked in IT for over 30 years, including as a Microsoft Gold Partner and a former VMware partner with VCP and VTSP certifications, I’ve spent a long time working with enterprise virtualisation platforms. That makes it all the more notable that Proxmox has become my preferred solution.

What stands out most is the balance between capability and simplicity. You’re not fighting licensing restrictions or artificial limitations — just a solid, well-designed platform that lets you get on with the job.

As someone who is autistic, having systems that are consistent, predictable, and “just work” is incredibly important. Proxmox delivers exactly that, which makes a real difference in day-to-day use.

Overall, this has been one of the best infrastructure decisions I’ve made. Reliable, capable, and refreshingly straightforward.

Now guys just polish your new management suite Proxmox doesn’t need to copy vCenter — it just needs to polish what it already does well.
Refining the management layer into a truly seamless, unified experience would set it apart.
Core services like backup, replication, and monitoring should feel fully integrated and consistent.
A fast, responsive single-pane-of-glass view across clusters would remove remaining friction.
Clearer visibility of storage, compute, and networking in one place would elevate usability.
APIs and automation should be front and centre, not an afterthought.
Upgrades and lifecycle management should be predictable and effortless.
Role-based access and multi-user control should be simple and transparent.
Consistent UI/UX across all components would take it from good to exceptional.
Polish these areas, and it doesn’t just compete with vCenter — it surpasses it.

Super, bis auf das etwas veraltet anmutende WebUI was evtl. manche abschreckt.

Great design and very powerful

Proxmox is the best free virtual machine manager. Support is not great, but then again, it's free. They have paid support for those that need it.

this is a nice software, it makes all virtualization tasks easy and straightforward, with minimum overhead

Software itself is great, very powerful, intuitive and well maintained.
Support is pointless, if you have a trouble you will get same answers you can get in forum. I suggest to find some expert elsewhere.

Been using Proxmox for 5 years now. It gets better and better. No complaints and it works great! This is a great piece of software to have! High recommended!!!

Proxmox è un sistema di virtualizzazione eccezionale, lo utilizzo da anni in ambito aziendale, e se la gioca con sistemi di virtualizzazione molto più costosi. Ho trovato RACKONE, un partner in italia molto competente che mi ha aiutato ad implementare al meglio questa soluzione.

Really? You want me to pay and your cheapest plan is community support only... but the next one up is three times the price but only includes three support tickets A YEAR?! At 300 euros, that's 100 euros per ticket! You're not getting a single euro from me.
