Great, efficient, and transparent communication at all stages. The whole process is handled with ease.

I took out PG insurance which I found really reasonably costed and it was a simple process to get set up

Repeated unsolicited SPAM from these people, despite having me clicked on their unsubscribe link. No prior contact with them. I never give any business to an organisation that indulges in Spam marketing, it is a clear sign of their disrespected for the prospect.

Communication is always prompt, and they go the extra mile to ensure that referrals are handled smoothly and professionally. It’s clear they take pride in providing outstanding service, and we are confident referring more business their way.

Very helpful, patient and friendly

Purbeck provide insurance against a call on personal guarantees. A subset of this relates to where those PGs are in place supporting an acquisition - as PGs are frequently required as security for acquisition finance.

If you have taken out this insurance for that eventuality, BEWARE. It is highly likely Purbeck will not pay up due to an anomaly in the policy wording which effectively means their policies are not fit for purpose in those circumstances - yet they continue to sell the policies and collect the premiums. The policies should not have been sold at all in those cases - no checks are made on application by the insurer into the specific circumstances.

Spammers: I received two emails from two of their alleged representatives. Josh Wilson and James Potter. Two emails, same contents... "Hi I'm (Insert name here), an insurance representative at Purbeck... blah blah... never heard of them, never used them, and not happy that they send out not one spam but duplicate spam emails..... companies like that deserve to fail.

Excellent transparency and fast service

My clients were uneasy over giving a Personal Guarantee for a loan. I'm not sure why, their business is very strong.

Purbeck were able to give £500K of guarantee insurance which helped them to come to terms with the PG. The premium was reasonable and it was all in place in 48 hours. Definitely recommend.

Like many, I read the reviews before approaching Purbeck to provide personal guarantee insurance and, like many, I had no expectation that I would need to call upon their services; unfortunately, I did and only within a few months of taking out the insurance.

When you realise the business is failing sometimes the last thing you want to do is admit it (especially to a third party) but I contacted Purbeck the moment it looked like we were going to struggle; clearly, I was required to do so under the terms of the policy but it turned out to be the best move I could have made. The Purbeck Support Team were brilliant and immediately assigned a business adviser who was not only very knowledgeable but highly pragmatic and offered sound advice rather than generic comments and suggestions. Once it became obvious that the business could not survive then I initiated a claim and Nick was my claims manager. The first thing Nick did was to introduce me to an external debt negotiator, which was included under the policy; this proved to be highly valuable not just in their ability to negotiate on my behalf and manage the debt down but also to completely take away the stress of having to deal with the debt recovery teams of the lender. Purbeck contributed to the debt negotiator costs but the rest was covered by me on a contingency fee based on the savings made.

Nick then underwent a stress test of the failed business on behalf of the insurer, and this was a challenging and quite lengthy process. Much of the challenge was in having to revisit the processes and transactions that had led to the business failure, which of course had dominated much of my life over the previous months. However, at no stage did I consider the questions asked to be unreasonable and in any insurance claim you would expect an insurer to examine the claim in detail to ensure it is valid on all levels. The whole experience is stressful and one thing I would recommend to any would be claimant is to ensure that you know (or have access to) the details of your business and to make sure you use the Purbeck Support Team the moment you have an inkling that the business is in trouble; not only will that help your claim but will also introduce you to very helpful support.

The debt negotiator managed to secure a very acceptable result with the lender, and Purbeck paid my revised claim within a week. Overall, a very good result and the role Purbeck took in helping me through this process both from the financial and as importantly the emotional side was immense. Thank you for all your support.
