I'm a lover of books and this honestly sounded like the perfect gift. However, this company has such horrible customer service and /or is spreading itself too thin. You get no actual response from customer services, I've been chasing a refund for well over a week while they continue to post daily on social media while ignoring my simple request to have my subscription cancelled and my money refunded. Communication and transparency is key, reading in heels unfortunately lacks both of those (lack of telephone number, lack of response). I will not be resubscribing but will continue to chase to get my money back. Good luck to anyone who signs up for this in the future, it really is a gamble.

EDIT: to say that you've responded to my email is a bald-faced lie, the only response I've had from you in two weeks is to ask why I was cancelling and I explained that becauseI had missed the deadline for December's box, I didn't want to receive anything. Can you please do the right thing and respond to me directly in my email? The reason why I want a refund is because the money has already come out from my account. Do not tell lies on me, you're better than that.

EDIT #3: more than two weeks on, still no refund and as you can see from the response to customers on this website, no customer service etiquette whatsoever. It’s obvious that this small business has bitten off more than it can chew with orders, but let’s continue blaming Royal Mail and slow bank transfers. Stay away from this business if you can, it’s 50:50 with this one.

First box arrived, but no others. I had paid in advance for 6 months. Customer services very unresponsive to emails. The did refund me 5 months worth in the end, though I would have preferred them just to deliver the boxes promised, as I’d bought it as a gift. Glad the recipient told me they weren’t turning up - I bet many people wouldn’t chase up a gift, so the company would get away with keeping the money and failing to deliver. Very disappointing experience all round.

Two weeks ago the "reading in heels" suport team said they had refunded me for my third box that never arrived, after countless emails that spanned over 6 months! Unfortunately, I still have not received this promised refund so I would like to ask again for the amount they claim to have refunded me, the date and transaction number so I can investigate this with my bank.

Just reviewed my third box and love this service! It's a great way to be introduced to new books as well as receiving some extra little gifts which are always really well curated. The community your part of is friendly and engaged and when I've had to speak with customer service they've always been fast to reply and acted really quickly to solve any issues.

This is such a great service for busy women. I've loved the past 5 books for the fact that it takes me out of my comfort zone and challenges my reading. I also find the women on the facebook group lovely and fun to chat with at the end of the month when we discuss the book. The little extras that go along with the books are the icing on the cake and a genius idea.

I have been a subscriber since January 2018 (never had any delivery issues) since reading of the idea in a magazine. I'm an avid reader and so far have only had one duplication of a book I had already had which I think is pretty good odds :-)
I love receiving the parcel every month as it feels like Christmas and the added treats are lovely, there have been tealights, teabags, body lotion and stationery so far.
I think they are really good value for money as the book would cost £9 on its own and its nice to get surprises on a regular basis.

I look forward to getting my subscription every month - and I’ve never had any issues with delivery in the year I’ve been getting it. It’s brilliant for me, as I often forget to read fiction. It’s a lovely treat, highly recommend!

I love my boxes (as do girls in my office when I have them delivered there!). So much so that I have given two friends three months’ subscriptions as birthday gifts - these have been sent as requested much to the delight of the recipients with no problems.
I have emailed RIH to confirm/clarify matters in the past and also when ordering (I also had the iconic Beauty Box when that was offered) - I have always had clear, prompt replies.
The books are always interesting - some I would not choose to read and have subsequently enjoyed, some I wish I hadn’t as well.
As for the choice of products - amazing! Love the variety and have been converted to some (e.g Spacemasks! ❤️)
RIH regularly are voted best subscription service for good reason.

Fantastic subscription that's encouraging me to read books outside of my comfort zone. The treats that come with the box are equally brilliant. I've knocked off one star as the sweet treats are often just a bit too small

I absolutely love getting my subscription every month. Reading In Heels is such good value for money and the extra treats you get along with your book are fantastic. One month I enjoyed the sample sheet face mask so much that I bought myself a stash of them. The book and the box are always well thought out and I really look forward to it every month. I would highly recommend this subscription box

I’m a new customer, one box has been delivered as a Christmas gift for my daughter.... she is on strict instructions not to open it until the big day! So far I have had nothing but excellent support from this company - great customer service and when I had a query it was resolved quickly and in a friendly manner. Highly recommended :)

I’ve been ordering these boxes since January and cannot find fault with them! I’d been umm’ing and ahh’ing over various monthly subscription boxes for a while but this really piqued my interest as I’m an avid reader and a beauty junkie. This is a brilliant mix of both at an excellent price point! Great as a gift but also a lovely surprise each month. I’ve recommended several friends and they’ve bought gift subscriptions with great success.

I love my reading in heels boxes. Good value for money and I love the treats. I like how the books have all been different from ones I'd never normally choose and I've enjoyed them all in different ways.

This is my first box. I was very pleasently pleased. The packaging was beautifully wrapped. It came with a smelly tea light a note book and some chocolate. I really loved the bit were you can do a review on the book they have sent you. What I love most is the surprise of the book which is sent. To me it's opening up my mind to read from other authors I wouldn't normally read. After reading the back of the book which I won't name!( As some of you may not have had your delivery yet) I think I will enjoy. I guess we won't always like the book which is chosen. But that's what it's all about. I'm looking forward to starting my book tonight. Thank you x

This is a great subscription box, and I'm really pleased with both the product and the service. When there have been a couple of issues (with Royal Mail) the customer service has been quick and supportive, resolving the issue helpfully. It's worth remembering that this is a small business you're supporting - so don't expect Amazon! (that's a good thing!). Definitely recommend.

Don't fault this company and I really don't understand the negative reviews. This was recommended by my sister in law and I haven't looked back. Great books, beauty, stationery and treats to eat all wrapped in a lovely box. I cannot complain about any box I have received and I have been with RIH for several months.

I have to say, reading the rather extreme negative reviews below is a real surprise for me. I have been a subscriber for two months now (thanks to a lovely gift subscription from my family), and have loved both boxes I've received. They are beautifully packaged, with some delightful treats inside and a book that I am unlikely to have picked for myself. The communication from the company has been great, and the Facebook group for subscribers to discuss the books is a wonderful bonus, as all subscribers seem to be such lovely people.

The only thing that might be confusing is if you subscribe early in a month, then it's a long wait for the first box, but apart from that I can't relate to the negative reactions below at all.

I have quite a few subscription boxes and this one is definitely one of my favourites. The variety of books we get monthly as a part of this subscription has expanded my already large library with authors who I haven’t heard of before, but who I’ve enjoyed immensely. We also get lovely treats from beauty to chocolate, you can’t ask for much more out of a subscription box.

I have a monthly subscription for the Reading in Heels book boxes and I have ordered a number of curated Christmas boxes for both myself and family/friends this year. The customer service is always fantastic and I love the monthly boxes- it encourages me to read books I wouldn't necessarily normally choose, sometimes I end up loving them and other times I'm not so keen but it's nice to know I tried it and it just wasn't for me. The luxury extras that come with the boxes are just amazing- a really good selection of different goodies so everyone should get something they like every month - whether that's beauty products, beautiful stationary , chocolate or candles. Just fab. I could not recommend the subscription highly enough and it genuinely is my favourite day of the month when my RIH parcel arrives. Such good value for money too!
