Chapter 25 Book Club レビュー 

The Chapter25 event with Lucy was so well done and prepared! Everything was so carefully thought out and the event staff were always checking in on us and making sure everyone was having a good time. They also made sure everyone got to have their time with Lucy and books signed which is something I’ve never experienced before in other book events! Honestly I’m excited for my next event with Chapter25 as everyone was made to feel welcomed

As a host for chapter25 myself i felt so welcome by the hosts and would truly love to attend more events. It was well planned fully inclusive and Lucy Jane Wood was just so refreshing and approachable. A truly phenomenal evening.
I would recommended chapter25 to anyone with a love of books

I love the events they run in addition to the monthly book club. Meeting authors I have loved the works of was a real highlight

Chapter 25 is my first ever book club I have joined, I joined when they first opened in Livingston and its the best night of my month. Meeting new people who also love books. I have added so many books to my TBR and I also have read books I would never of looked at twice.

I joined an online club in 2024, and it was the best decision I ever made! I never used to have anyone to talk to about books with, but since joining I have a community of people who want to not only talk about books, but have become my closest friends. It's so difficult to make friends as an adult, but since the first meeting I felt like I finally found somewhere that I belonged. I can't thank the Chapter 25 Community enough, they have helped me in so many ways, and I would urge anyone who is nervous about joining to just sign up! You won't regret it x

I really enjoy my monthly meet up. The host is so lovely and welcoming and the other members are so friendly too. I've read books that I wouldn't normally pick up and have really enjoyed them. It's so good to discuss these, and other books, at our meet up and it's really interesting hearing other peoples opinions.

We had just celebrated our Club's 1st birthday (in June), and I've been there since the beginning.
I was excited to join up when I saw the advert on Facebook. I used to read a lot in my teens and had gotten out of the hobby over time; so C25 was my opportunity to rekindle (no pun intended) my love for books.
I have social anxiety so Day 1 wasn't easy for me, but everyone was so friendly and welcoming and kind. Our Host was lovely and made everyone feel like we'd been friends for ages.
So far, the books have been a bunch of titles I would never have picked for myself, and it's been really great to expand my genres in books. Although my TBR gets bigger every day with recommendations from fellow book club members.
If youre looking for somewhere to enhance, or even begin again, your reading hobby and love of books - I'd recommend giving Chapter25 a go! :)

Really frustrating and disappointing experience trying to cancel my membership.

I didn’t read the small print and was charged for 3 months of membership (their minimum contract), being unable to cancel after realising I couldn’t attend local events due to work changes after I had signed up.

I asked if I could transfer my 3 months of unused membership to another location as I was due to relocate and this was refused. Would personally avoid and find a local book club instead of what feels like a moneymaking chain :(

I wasn’t a fan of the first 3 books so decided to cancel and hit the wall others have mentioned here which absolutely unacceptable hence the 1star review:

If a consumer asks to cancel their subscription after the first 3 months which they are entitled to do as per the T&Cs, the company should not prey on people by delaying the response to the cancellation and asking them to reconfirm more than once.

PEOPLE, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!! Contact your bank and block your card for this purchase, as it wont appear on your direct debits or standing orders.

If you have said that you want to cancel once, that is enough.

It is within the company interest to drag it out and make you cancel within the last 14 days of your subscription so they can charge you another month. I cancelled within a week of my payment and they are still asking me to reconfirm almost a further week later (a few days before the period they will charge me again). I have never had a subscription, gym and other ask me to reconfirm almost a week later to enable them to confirm my cancellation.

I really wish I had read the reviews on here first before joining. When it came to cancelling my subscription, I urge any member to take caution. It has been an incredibly frustrating process, with issues around poor communication back from the team. It takes days for them to respond and when they do, they insist on asking multiple times the reasons for why you're leaving and to confirm you definitely want to leave. I felt this was in an attempt to delay processing my cancellation. When it is made explicitly clear that a cancellation is requested, please do not continue to pursue and explore the reasons, just process the request! The request alone should be enough Chapter25. Because of your lack of response and transparency I was charged a further month, of which you refuse to give me a refund.
I really do urge anyone to be careful with this company. Looking through all the other 1 star reviews, everyone is saying the same thing. You would think Chapter25 would learn their process is not working/fit for purpose. Their responses to customers alone should be a red flag.

£10 a month for a once a month meet up without the book being included does not feel good value for money in my opinion.
But I stuck it out. There were some interesting book choices. However at the meet ups, there were no resources. Just an A4 page of questions to discuss the book.

Best decision made this year! I love book club and it's really helped me rekindle my love of literature. Shout out to Mala who hosts the group - she's so lovely, welcoming and fun. And to the rest of the group..it's honestly so lovely to connect each month with everyone.

The Hyde group was closed after just two meetings.
Apparently the costs for a small group (20 people) were too high.. the pub we met at is free, we bought our own books and drinks whilst there, other than giving out some paper with some questions on there wasnt much else happening. Not sure how the costs could outweigh the amount spent to keep our group running at £10 a month per person... The initial idea is great and I was excited there was a company that pushed people to make friends and talk about books but it definitely seems more about the money now.
In our Whatsapp group we are not allowed to speak about forming a new group separately now that theyve closed ours and want us to join an out of town group.
Hopefully they take this on board and change the companies motives

I regret signing up to this bookclub. They expect you to sign up for a minimum of three months and then ignore your request to cancel monthly subscription when you write to them after the third payment.
They do not alllow you to cancel your own payments on the site log in.
If a fourth payment is taken from me I will be reporting Chapter25 to watchdog and other legal bodies.

Really friendly bunch of people and made to feel very welcome. Great group to discuss anything and everything to do with books. Love reading different genres

Proper thieves! I am still trying to cancel my subscription sincerely than a month now and just now have been charged money. Would not recommend.
