Super cool watches, not great communications
Super cool watches, good responses from their team to queries.
However the watch I ordered was a month delayed on two occasions, and both times I had to reach out to them to be informed of this. So taking away a star for that.
Edit: I totally understand the reason for the delay as these are unique watches that are being built in limited numbers, I’m just disappointed in the lack of communication about the status, especially when they tell you an expected date up front you’d think they could easily update on delays.

Excellent overall experience- high quality product.
I pre-ordered the Lotus 98T timepiece. I found the REC team’s communication to be first class. The watch is excellent - it came very well packaged, protected and arrived quickly after they advised it had been sent. I initially had some concerns around buying a high value item offshore however the REC team did a great job and I would happily purchase from them again.

My wife bought me the Lotus F1 watch…
My wife bought me the Lotus F1 watch for my 65th birthday on October 25 and told me to expect a good few months' delay due to the bespoke build.
It arrived in June 2026, and the presentation Box and content are superb.
The Lotus F1 watch is beautiful and a great piece of craftsmanship that I am proud to wear.
I will thoroughly recommend REC watches.

Value less than sum of parts
The watch looks beautiful in concept, however the product received is flawed. The tachymeter ring made from the intake plenum, which is arguably a critical component of the timepiece’s appeal and value, is obscured from view and is illegible from any angle. For the price paid, time spent waiting, additional expense of import duties and the lack of complete functionality of the timepiece, this is not worth it. It’s an unfortunate case of the finished product not being worth the sum of its parts. I’m sorry to say any of this because it’s such a great concept… just poor execution on an absolutely critical detail.

Stunning Watch great communication
REC x4009 watch is absolutely stunning. REC themselves were great to deal with and communication was prompt.
From order to delivery was a week to the UK.
Only down was the very steep customs charge if your UK based. But to own a piece of a spitfire and a watch as beautiful as this arguably its worth it.

No Customer service!
Rec sent me the wrong band. It is not the one I ordered. I have emailed them numerous times and also called and left a message over the past week. I have not received any responses. Greatly disappointed because I own 4 of their watches. This is absolutely not the way to treat customers, especially repeat customers!

Zero after purchase support, won’t accept return
Bought a Tourer steel from them and received it within a very reasonable time. After taking it out and trying to wind it the first time I realized that the crown was way to small and movement stiff that I needed to use fingernails to rotate to wind it. I emailed them back several times over the past week and a half simply looking to return it. I even emailed the US reps and have not heard back from them. I even got the payment company to try and get ahold of them. Nobody at Rec Watches is responding yet I’m getting emails around new products. This is an unacceptable practice. Nobody should buy from Rec and expect any sort of after purchase support whatsoever. First emailed 3/28/26 and as of 4/8/26 still nothing. Updating my review to 4 stars based on comments and then finally reaching out. Lesson to Rec watches that there should be some auto reply mechanism if the office is shut down for an extended period of time. Thanks

To be able to own a watch honouring a…
To be able to own a watch honouring a Battle of Britain pilot who has had a permanent memorial erected to him by our Museum was a brilliant opportunity. Excellent REC design features and high build quality, combined with the limited number available, make this a special watch. The time keeping is excellent and the strap fastener is a masterpiece of engineering compared to a standard buckle!

Delayed Communication and Not Worth the Price
The communication was slow, and the delivery address was entered incorrectly, which caused inconvenience. The watch itself is fine in terms of quality, but it’s not worth the price paid.

The watch exceeded my expectations, but the deliver experience not so good.
I ordered the REC X4009 Midnight Blue in August 2025 and it arrived last week (Jan 2026). I am very happy with the watch itself. It met, in fact exceeded, my expectations in terms of build quality, packaging etc/.... However, there were a few small things that reduced my overall customer experience.
First was the time between ordering and delivery. Inital estimates were delivery by Mid-November, however I did not receive my watch until almost 2 and half months later in early Feb (5 months after ordering).
Second dissapointment was more with the shipping company (FedEX) that REC. Their communications were hopeless. I received an email from FedEX dated 3rd Feb telling me that customs duty needed to be paid by COB 2nd Feb (ie: the day before) or the package might be returned to sender! Luckily I paid and the package was delivered. The only reason I mention this here is that after ordering I had asked REC to changed the delivery to DHL as I have had several bad experiences with FedEX...but they still sent it via FedEX.
Notwithstanding the above, I am extremely happy with the watch and would definitely consider another purchase from REC in the future.
