The service is fine when it works

The service is fine when it works, but as others have mentioned, their customer service is terrible. Their knee jerk response is to blame the customer for everything. We were able to prove multiple dropouts from the server and the customer service agent became defensive. They have a major hangup about admitting fault and will go to ridiculous lengths to do it.

You can also see this in their responses to reviews - note use of soft language such as "We are sorry you FEEL..." "We can UNDERSTAND how that MIGHT be FRUSTRATING..." All very careful language designed to deflect blame with a patronizing tone.

They do this with large broadcast entities, too. The company seems to be staffed by 22 year olds whose parents never told them no, as they cannot handle being corrected. They then try and use "handling" techniques. If you tell them that it isn't up for discussion they will send emails at all hours of the night arguing hoping you will just give up. This is a technique and is taught.

My advice: don't give these kids what they want. Push the issue, it is the only way they'll learn. Notice how all the responses are patronizing - they are counting on you to get angry so they can more easily point the finger at you.

I am sure they will put a similar soft patronizing response to this review - they don't ever read what is said as they are too busy arguing that they are right when they aren't. :-)

Eventually there will be a competitive service to Restream. When that happens, Restream will either have to adapt or they will go out of business.

(I am sure that Restream will say "We don't have a customer with that name..." - using a friend's FB account as I don't use social media and they are fine with it.)

I spent some time reading through your full conversation with our support team, so no — we definitely won’t say you’re not a customer.

First, I’m really sorry that your stream dropped. Reliability is our top priority, and clearly, we fell short here.

Second, I can tell you and your team are true professionals who take your clients’ streams seriously. We’re honored that you’ve trusted Restream to power them. Your setup is quite advanced, and while that’s great for flexibility, it also makes troubleshooting harder — especially when 3rd-party encoders, networks, and custom RTMPs are involved. Still, that shouldn’t make your experience harder. That’s on us to improve.

After going through your full chat history, I can see our team genuinely tried to get you back online as fast as possible — but they missed something equally important: listening. You deserved to feel heard, not just helped. I’m sorry that didn’t come through. I’ll personally coach the team on how we can better balance empathy with technical problem-solving.

As for late-night replies — that’s a result of our 24/7 global support team working across time zones. It’s something we’re proud of, but you’re absolutely right that communication preferences should be clearer. We can do better there too.

Switched from Streamyard after they…

Switched from Streamyard after they became greedy. There was a learning curve but I’m not looking back. Cool tool, nice people.

I’d just like some more customisations in their studio.

To clarify, AI agents are only there to help triage general questions (like how to connect Restream with OBS) and point new users in the right direction. More complex issues — like technical problems or billing — go straight to a human. And no matter the case, a human is always available at the next step. In fact, our product marketing team often takes the time to personally respond, as I’m doing here, because we care deeply about conversations with our creators.

It honestly hurts to hear that it came across as if we don’t give a damn, because we really do. We’ve taken your feedback seriously and are reviewing the way our AI-assisted replies are written to make them feel more natural.

And just as a reminder, we also offer 24/7 live chat with real human streaming experts. That’s something pretty rare in this industry — and if you’d prefer to talk directly to a person, I’d recommend live chat over email in the future. We sure hope Restream can serve you better in the future.

Predatory business, HORRIBLE support

PREDATORY business practice,

The most unprofessional and condescending 'support' chat I've ever had.

I used to be a GREAT fan of restream until I started PAYING them money, and then had to deal with their support team.

They wasted SO much of my time,

Were constantly talking down to me,
NEVER addressed any of my problems.

So within TWO conversations with the support team,

They managed to turn me from a FAN - who recommended Restream to all his friends

to now a rather ANGRY ex-customer.

Terrible service. STAY AWAY

Their customer service is very unsupportive and their business model is very predatory. I got the service. It did not work for me and they claimed it wasn’t an issue in their end but on mine, okay fine I’ll just cancel I’ll take the one month payment as a loss. But they KEPT CHARGING ME. They refused to give me a refund and I can’t take my debit card off of their platform. I have had to resort to disputing the purchase in order to get my money back. I would never use this service again.

To clarify, your subscription wasn’t canceled on our side, which is why the charges continued and why you couldn’t remove your card. That’s on us for not making the process clearer. Once you reached out, our billing team processed your refund within 7 hours, and the funds should be back in your account depending on your bank’s timeline.

Dislike the software you said it free…

Dislike the software you said it free as it comes with 2 stream platform and can allow up to 3 people share screen and it say it comes with the command free and there not free you want me to paid I don't do business that lies about there products and the login function never works half of the time then it never connects to twitch as it keeps saying network error non stop and there nothing wrong on my end your software is garbage hell I rather use one studio than your platform.
