You get the product - but misleading and not as advertised
Okay, you get the console from this company and it works. From that perspective they have delivered.
But let's look closer:
It claims to be based in the UK, but doesn't appear on the gov website. Unit delivered from China.
It's sold at slightly higher cost than found on Amazon - around £18 more when a discount is already applied.
The R36S console is generic, there is no difference between this and a generic one on Amazon. Unit is a bit flimsy but fine for the price, screen is quality.
There is nothing unique buying via Retro Gaming Fun that differentiates it. The website images feature fake post edited 'Retro Gaming Fun' stickers - these are not added to the console on delivery.
Delivery is longer as it comes direct from China and not an Amazon warehouse. Took over 1.5 weeks. Next day on Amazon.
The software is just ArkOS - nothing unique to this company.
Here's the real wool over the eyes:
The 128GB version is actually a 32GB drive. Full image backup came to 23GB on a 29GB (32GB) disk.
ROM game count claims:
64GB = 20k
128GB = 40k
Actual count around: 15k (specifically 15,489)
Actual count is generous as some folders are repeated with top 100 lists, subfolders, groups of versions, etc. Fact is it's far less than this. A lot of games do not work (bad dumps), and are multi-region (repeats).
The reviews are clearly fake. All 5 star & dated 03/04/2026.
Buyer count 758 - likely.
Recommendation before purchasing:
Buy an R36S cheap on Amazon. Buy a new SD card - this is recommended as SD cards often fail after purchase. Install ArkOS fresh and move in your own ROMs, and/or the ones you grabbed from this supplier.
