Rockin Vans are a lovely company to hire from. I have hired their vehicles 3 times now, and each time they have been helpful and professional.

Reading through the reviews on here, I'm not sure that others realise they are hiring a vehicle! These vehicles have certain safety measures that, if not used properly, will make the appliance not work properly! You need common sense really to hire one of these. If you don't have it, go to a hotel!!!

Anyway, great company, great vans. Will be hiring again if they ever have any availability!

My wife and I hired a mini camper from Rockin Vans for a break at the start of September 2020.
I found the reviews on TrustPilot after I’d made the booking and was initially a bit concerned. I’m pleased to say we had nothing to worry about!

Booking the van was easy and email communication between Rockin Vans and us beforehand to check a couple of things was really quick. The Express Check-in process was really good and meant we just had to turn up at the depot, complete some final checks and load our stuff. The van itself was treated to make sure it was ‘COVID-safe’ before we picked it up and was a great little home for a few days.

We did have a slight problem and were somewhere with no phone signal but again the team did all they could to help us out via email.

We really enjoyed the experience & our trip and I’d recommend Rockin Vans to others if they were thinking about hiring a camper.

We rented a VW Campervan for a week end August 2020 from Rockin Vans . Great communication from Rebekah, who kept in touch right up to our pick up date .We found the service second to none . Clean van with lots of information, all professionally explained and handed over to us in pristine clean condition, by Agnes . The cooker , fridge , freezer , sink , bed , storage was all in great condition . We found the van economical in fuel , very comfortable and well worth the hire price . Rockin Vans gave us lots of hints & tips regarding van use and camping location info too . Would highly recommend and will rebook again!

This is our 3rd trip with Rockin Vans.

Highly recommend this company, we booked the midsize van, 2 adults and a small dog, perfect for our needs.

We completed Aug 2020 the SWC300, truly beautiful.

We have used the van in Dec and Jan and they are perfectly warm with our sleeping bags. Gas and fuel is not an issue to buy during these months on the NC500.

Last week, we had a few maintenance issues with the van, but the Rockin Vans team are promptly on hand to help resolve the issue.

If you are looking for a holiday that is peaceful and away from crowds this comes highly recommended.

It was a very last minute decision to book a VW campervan from the Beoley depot. We had a call to collect the van early and Angus showed us around the van.
We did the whole of North Wales and loved every minute of our trip. Fully recommended this company.

Hired a Rockin Van to tour around Northumberland, England. Communication with Rockin Vans, Beoley was first class and I can not fault it at all. The van was a Fiat and it was more than adequate for two adults and a small dog on our adventure, any more it would have been a squeeze. When we collected the van it was clean and tidy and fully fuelled. This was our first time at this kind of holiday and it did not take us long to adapt to the camper van way of life. The van had everything that was needed to stay self sufficient although we did not use the toilet or shower deciding to keep it as storage space.
The vehicle is a diesel and was economical to drive and not to big
to drive round small towns and park up for a ‘brew’.
Would I recommend Rockin Vans..yes. Would I do this type of holiday again...yes. Would I look any where else to hire a van for this type of holiday...No.
Overall I rate Rockin Vans 5/5 stars.

At short notice I decided to book a VW Caddy Mini Camper to 'do' the North Coast 500 over four days in mid August 2020. Not long enough to do NC500 justice! RV booking was online, simple and lots of information was emailed through at various stages, especially as it was all done online to reduce contact during Covid. Pickup was smooth and quick from Edinburgh though no Rockin Vans parking spaces to leave my own vehicle was annoying. Van was in excellent condition. As I hadn't allowed enough time, I spent a lot of time driving. The van was a pleasure to drive on all the different road types that make up the NC500. I did have a couple of small niggles. The suckers to hold the privacy/reflector shields to the window were missing and one was far to big for a side window making it extra annoying to keep in place. The knob was missing on the gas cooker. Found it in the sink but it was broken so could not re-attach. I could still use the gas ring though. Reported both to RV when I returned the van. Overall, excellent service. I'm planning another trip soon in a mid size van to compare the practicality of the two and Agnes at Edinburgh branch very helpful both on handover and when I mentioned this. Will use again, though really don't like leaving my own vehicle just parked on a side street in an industrial estate. RV could look into improving this aspect. I wouldn't mind paying a wee bit extra for more secure parking nearby.

We booked for 7 nights to do the north coast 500, had an absolutely amazing time. Van was just perfect, comfortable, clean and the service from the team was top notch! Couldn’t have had better treatment and easy check in and out of the van.
We will definitely return and do it again.

Hired a VW campervan for 5 nights in August and it was so good that we didn't want to give it back! Callum was very helpful during the handovers and the van was in great condition.

Great experience dealing with Agnus and co at Rockin Vans. Right from the moment we booked to pickup to drop off, they were very helpful throughout with email contact and tips - all particularly helpful as we were on our first camper van holiday. All amenities in the van worked great, and we had a blast on our trip!

We have used Rockin Vans a few times. They are great. Clean vans, well equipped and good helpful customer service esp important in the Covid times. They were able to offer portable Loo and toilet tent with our rental if we wanted. Great Edinburgh location for pick up and drop off so will use that again. Thank you we had an incredibly fun trip with two VWs 2 adults and 3 happy teenagers!!!

Gone down hill fast....!!!
I had hired a motorhome from Rockin Vans a few years back and was delighted with the vehicle and the service received. So, this time around, I had no hesitation in returning to Rockin Vans when I needed to hire a motorhome. BIG MISTAKE. Oh how things have changed!
The van had been brought into the depot a few minutes before we were due to pick it up. The company employee delivering the van had damaged some of the external trim, on the trip to the depot. This wasn’t a problem for us and was noted on the damages before we accepted the vehicle.
On checking over the vehicle, we noted damaged internal blinds on two of the windows, and a few other minor niggles. The television was missing, probably because someone had managed to tear the antenna from the roof. This was taped over to stop water ingress. The missing television was disappointing.
Looking over the rest of the equipment, we found that the control knob for the oven was missing. Having pointed this out to the people in the depot, we were casually told that they were aware of this. The oven was not working, so the knob had been removed. We were told that we probably didn’t really need the oven as most people just ate out when using the motorhomes!!! Oh really! We were planning a few nights wild camping away from hookups and nearby restaurants. So this put a damper on the trip. But, the view was that was that and we shouldn’t really expect a fully functioning and fully equipped van. We were in a bit of a pickle, as we had to leave sharply, to make our ferry booking that evening. So felt we had to accept the vehicle in its poor state. I put some new batteries in the carbon monoxide detector, as it didn’t have any when we got the vehicle.
After day 2 of our week long hire, the oven fell out, as we were driving along the road!!!
Not only was it not working, it wasn’t actually fixed in its mountings in the vehicle. I managed to isolate the gas supply, before the whole vehicle blew up. This made using the gas rings somewhat challenging.
After day 4, the odd noise from the engine bay was identified as a lack of steering fluid. I bought a bottle to top it up, and managed to keep up with losses until the vehicle was returned. Despite promises that the cost of the steering fluid would be reimbursed, no payment was received.
The depot confirmed that the vehicle was due out again the same day that we returned it, so some other poor renter will have suffered the same dangerous oven and leaking steering. The gas hadn’t been reconnected at this stage, so the next renter may not even have had the benefit of the gas hob.
Finally, the van is equipped with a hose for filling up the fresh water tank, but no connectors to connect the hose to a tap. The staff response to this was that often, taps didn’t have a connection. On our week away, I didn’t find any taps without a hose connector. Fortunately, I had taken a selection of hose connections, so we manged fine with the supplied hose. However, if you are arriving from the airport, you may not be as well equipped.
So, if you are handy with tools and take a good selection of tools and repair equipment, this could be an option for you. But I will be avoiding Rockin Vans in the future, despite the good experience I had first time around.

Further to the somewhat 'off the shelf' response from Rockin Vans. The booking number was 1167. I did not call to report the issues, as I reported the majority of issues in person, before departure. The issues were known by staff, but just shrugged off as nothing they could do about it. A full list of all defects was given to staff when the vehicle was returned.
I was shocked at the lack of concern for customer service or indeed customer wellbeing. Not only was key equipment in the vehicle not functioning, the defects were actually a danger to vehicle users. The gas oven was not fixed in place and moved around in transit, with potential to rupture gas supply pipes. There was no functioning carbon monoxide detector in the vehicle. The vehicle had defective steering. Yet all of this appeared to be ok, according to your representatives.
These issues were all given to staff at the time of vehicle hand back, in writing. However, no acknowledgement or apology was offered then or afterwards. It is a shame that it takes a Trip Advisor review to generate a response. Will it need a family to die in one of your vehicles for adequate safety checks to be undertaken?

As stated earlier, this was my second hire from Rockin Vans. The first hire, several years ago, was of an entirely different (first class) standard. . So, I was dismayed to see how standards have slipped in the intervening years.

Myself , partner and our 2 kids, 11 and 12 years old booked a 4 night break in a mid sized camper van after our holiday abroad was cancelled.
It turned out to be a fantastic substitute!
Booking was very easy and lots of info sent to us by email prior to collection.
The collection and return of the vehicle was excellent thanks to Callum and Agnes.
We booked a mid sized van which was perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids and we were pleasantly surprised at how comfy the beds were!
It came with everything we needed for our short break and the fridge was a decent size and kept the beer and wine nicely chilled .
Our van was so nice that twice other campers commented on it and asked for a look inside.
I would highly recommend Rockin Vans and will definitely be using them again.

Hired a mid size motor home for 9 days however from start to finish their were issues. The vechicle was given to us with minor exterior issues. Inside the van nothing worked. I found an old ice
Lolly stick in the door of the car and women’s hair bobbles we’re found throughout the camper. water continuously leaked from the pipes so we couldn’t keep a fresh water supply, as the water constantly leaked it left puddles of water through the living and sleeping area. Privacy blinds were all torn, windows were broken so we couldn’t open them. The fridge was foul smelling, couldn’t even get the smell away after bleaching it a few times. The table in the living area was broken, we had to cellotape it to keep it on. The ignition switch for the gas cooker didn’t work. The list goes on. Not only that I tried to contact Rockin vans whilst on the road and several emails were ignored. I was unable to get them via phone as they were so busy and the emergencies lines only delt with mechanical issues. We also met a few Rockin vans customers along the way who were also having a similar experience! Paid so much money for this mid size motor home and paid a lot of insurance money should something get damaged. However it is clear now they just keep this money as no damage is being fixed between customers!

AVOID AT ALL COST!

Highly recommend using this company. We hired a van from the Edinburgh depot and were really happy with both the van and customer service.

After booking online we didn't receive any booking confirmation straight away however once inital contact had been made the customer service was fantastic. They answered all questions with most replies to emails being within an hour. We had booked a VW camper but unfortunately there were none left (fault with the website due to such a high demand) so we were given a free upgrade to a mid size motor home. At Edinburgh, Agnes was super welcoming and made collection and drop off a breeze. When away we contacted the help line because of a very small issue and we received a response straight away.

Before booking I had read some negative trust pilot reviews but decided to take the chance and I am so glad we did. It's been the best UK holiday we've ever had. We're already planning our next trip and will deffinitely be using these guys again!

Had a fantastic trip doing the NC 500, made all the better for using Rockin vans. Brilliant trip, would highly recommend and will be using again.

We have just returned from an incredible 10 day trip around the north coast of Scotland.

Rockin Vans have been brilliant from start to finish.

Booking was easy and all pre-trip questions were answered promptly and helpfully.

Our holiday went without a hitch. Pickup was smooth and easy, the VW Camper was of brilliant quality (the envy of many at our chosen campsites), and returning the van was straightforward too.

Thanks to Rockin Vans, and the good fortune of some brilliant Scottish sun, we have had a holiday to remember for all the right reasons.
