I rented a van from Rockinvans for Glastonbury 2019. The van was returned with no issues but the deposit of £2000 was not returned. After months of changing stories, poor excuses and an offer of 4 days free hire the deposit was still not returned. I have had to seek assistance from Barclaycard. I would not use Rockinvans again and would not recommend anyone wishing to hire a campervan to use them

Glad to see that Customer Services take their reviews seriously I received a personal call today from Rockin Vans to explain the situation they found themselves in last year. I would love to support a family run business again and hope that you can turn things around

I had the pleasure of renting a van from the Rockin Vans team, for a 2019 summer adventure to Aviemore and the surrounding area. Everything about my experience with Rockin Vans was pleasant, easy and efficient. They were even able to accomodate me arriving a day early and with little notice, due to an unrelated activity being cut short. The VW Camper I was provided with was modern, clean and kitted out with everything I needed (and more). Prior to this trip, I had never “van camped” and did not know too much about the camper scene. After this trip, I’m totally hooked, and now crane my neck at every VW camper I see on the road! I’ll be back to the Scottish Highlands in Summer 2020 for a combined hiking, bouldering and mushroom foraging trip, and I can say with complete confidence that renting another camper from Rockin Vans will be part of that experience too. Thanks guys!

Looking forward one year to receive my refund of fiance and only nice words but no money back.

Shocking experience. I rented a van for a bank holiday weekend and when I had not had confirmation I phoned them on the Friday a few hours before I was supposed to collect at 3pm. When I phoned they informed me that they did not have a van available but hoped that they might have something after 9pm. At this point I made other arrangements and such a delay scuppered our travel plans.
Rockin Vans refused to offer a refund. When I complained they eventually offered a refund of the value of one night, but six months later I have still not received the refund, despite chasing numerous times. I don't think that I have ever experienced such poor customer service. I've looked online now and seen a number of people who are owed money by this company.

We rented a van for two weeks over Christmas and it totally made our trip! Neither of us has driven a camper before so had instructions on how to use the facilities before we set off and were also shown where more instructions where on the internet if we needed the manual when we got on the road. Even though it was a Scottish midwinters outside we were still very comfortable in the van with the heater on. Would definitely suggest bringing thermals and thick scarves/beanies/gloves for anyone thinking of travelling around that time!

We picked up our VW camper van from Rockin Vans Edinburgh depot for our festive trip round Scotland. The van was in good condition and clean. At the hand over the representative went over all the van facilities and how to operate them (neither me or my partner had ever driven a camper van before). All went well with our trip and the van gave us a flexibility to visit and stay over in remote locations with some breath taking scenery.

Scotland is a cold place in December/January and I would advise anyone visiting and touring at that time of year to take lots of warm clothes. However the van was cosy at night once the doors were closed and with the heater on.

We enjoyed our Scottish touring holiday and would recommend it to others. We are already thinking of coming back sometime this summer. We would also recommend Rockin Vans.

Spoke to Sam - he could not have been more helpful. He changed the dates for us and helped us with all of our worries.

The best van-cation ever!

At first I was unsure about touring through Scotland in a van but once I visited the rockingvans.co.uk website and spoke to representative I was convinced! I was impressed with the ease of booking, availability of vans, and friendly staff. Getting behind the wheel of a Rocking Van and exploring Scotland was the trip of a lifetime. I can't thank RV enough for helping to make it happen!

Our first experience of a campervan holiday and Rockinvans really made it a great one for us. The van was spotless and the team gave us a clear explanation of how everything worked before setting off. We needed to call a couple of times while away and even out of hours they were always happy to help. The team really did all they could to make our trip a good one. We will be back

We had an amazing time away thanks to Rockin Vans. From the initial enquiry to picking up the van and returning it - it was so easy, especially as this is not something I had done before. The guys were so helpful and really helped go through everything in detail. they even suggested places to visit!

Had a great experience from start to finish hiring a van with Rockin' Vans, start to finish, from initial enquiry to actually booking, the service was first class. We had a really friendly arrival at the HQ from the team as we arrived to pick up the rental. This was the first time hiring a camper van or preparing to live(!) in one for a few days so we had more than a few questions but everything was explained mega simply and they made sure we had no more questions to ask at all before we left. The van itself was spotless, ingeniously designed, looked pretty cool and ran like a dream. We headed up to Isle of Skye and the onwards to Kylesku and it was genuinely the trip of a lifetime. Hoping to use them again for rental or hopefully buying our own. Cheers guys!

Rockin Vans cancelled our camper van at the last minute. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited patiently for our refund. We tried for months to get our money back and were met with empty promises and excuses. If they do not refund you within the time period they promise - save yourself the hassle/ frustration/ months stressing over money and just ask your credit card company for a chargeback. If your cc company say you are over the time limit because (like us) you trusted that you would get your money back if you were patient - tell them if was for a “future service“ and you might have some luck. Hopefully this helps at least one person. Just don’t go near Rockin Vans.

Still waiting for a refund after 5 months.
I hired a Van in August, the Van was OK, some damage to the steering wheel functions but this was explained. We paid upfront for gas which couldn't be provided so we were told we would be refunded. When I returned the Van we were told we would be refunded in 2 weeks. I have since called and emailed multiple times and 5 months later I am now getting no response.
Its not even a lot of money but its the principle and reading other reviews it seems there is a string of people in the same situation that are owed far more money than me.
Avoid this company, there are plenty of other hire company's with good reputations. Rockin Vans are total cowboys and will rip you off if they can. What a shame that company's can still get away with stunts like this, I imagine they will not be around much longer.

Very poor service and disappointed that once given a quote by Katy it wasn’t honoured in finalising the booking. I chased for 3 days as she lead me to believe she was going to be booking us in - only for staff to then give me another quote nearly 4 times the price.

Holiday of a lifetime, vans are lovely and clean and the whole process was effortless can't wait to use them again.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Truly awful. Still awaiting a refund payment from 31/7/19. I’ve spent countless hours emailing and calling to be hear one excuse and another. Still not been refunded. Incredibly poor customer service

Rockin Van takes fast your money, but need weeks over weeks to give you money back or to help you with the assurance after a damage. So you need a lot of patience. And at the end you will get angry, because this is not the way to treat customers. I can't recommend this company.

RV baffle me. This isn't how to do business.

Van hired out, for 8 days, at a cost of over £1000

A handful of concerning faults mentioned upon collecting the van- not a great start. Additionally the Van is an automatic, we both drive manual vehicles- at no point did we request an automatic or were we told in advance it would be an automatic. They had manual vehicles on site, we were told, they just weren't "ready"...

Through the week of our 'holiday'...the van's sink doesn't drain, light shades are all damaged- torn and missing suckers for affixing to windows, fridge wouldn't shut, 'front assist' unavailable and airbag light on the whole journey! Not exactly reassuring with two children on board.

Upon returning the vehicle TWO RV employees survey the external condition and sign-off the van. We leave. TWO DAYS LATER I'm told that we are responsible for paint work damage and will be billed accordingly. I enter into email correspondence- stating I cannot be held responsible for damage after the vehicle has been signed-off, it could have happened at any point after we left. RV agree that their procedures were flawed, that things will change...and yet...£250 has since be debited from my personal account, without my consent.

That's ok though as they've offered us 20% off our next hire...

What a shambles.
