We had a great hike with our guides Porfirio and Rogelio. They did a great job leading the Treck, teaching us about Inca history and culture and about telling us about the areas we went through. The hike was hard but they did a great job keeping the pace manageable for everyone and making sure we all made it safely. On top of the amazing guides, the meals and accommodations were amazing. My only mild constructive criticism would be that I wish the coffee was more like the coffee from our tour (especially since we had an amazing coffee tasting experience).

Otima experiência na trilha salkantay de 5 dias e à montanha colorida. Ponto alto do passeio, além do atendimento da agência, foi o Porfirio, que sabe muito da sua cultura e fala com o amor. Solicitem por ele ao reservarem com a agência e não se arrependerão!

The Rainbow mountain experience was amazing, specially because we had the best guide, Porfirio. He is very kind, funny and knows everything about the history of Peru and the Inca culture. We strongly recommend Salkantay Trekking and the guide Porfirio.

The overall experience was amazing, from having an awesome guide (Pabel), to the great hiking paths and stunning views everyday, along with the awesome housing and great food. I would recommend this hike to anyone looking to enjoy the Salkantay trail over five days on their journey to Machu Picchu!

A pleasure to work with Salkantay trekking. Their pre trip organisation's and friendly and comprehensive responses really made booking easy. How do I even start? Without my tour guide Pabel, I probably won’t be able to finish my trip at all. Facing multiple unexpected situations such as my hiking boots broke on the first 30mins on trail, my mountain sickness, my lousy steps… Pabel helped me with kindness and patience. He’s experienced, fun and organized all things perfectly for us. Another highlight of our trip is the service from our chef, “David copperfield”Rosalio. He is well deserved this nickname and I not only enjoyed every meal, but has the privilege to try out all the wholesome Peruvian home cooking. Shout out to the entire Salkantay team and you all made my trip and I am so greatful! I wish the best for you all and your families 🙏

We did the Humantay Lake & Salkantay Pass 2D with Porfi as our guide. He made the trip comfortable & safe. We didn’t feel rushed all thru the trek. Thanks, Porfi!

As for the sky camp, it has shared toilets & dining room. It is beyond the typical tent camping with the comfort of the a bed, pillows & blankets. But, it felt very cold at night specially when it rained while we were there. It could’ve been better to have wood furnace inside & some hooks to hang clothes to dry.
The food is delicious & plenty! The chef typically prepared 3 course meals with appetizer, mains & dessert. you won’t get hungry at any time.
I wish there was wifi in the van, it was a long drive to/from Cusco. it will help let the time pass while travelling.

I did the two day trek with Salkantay Trekking and it was one of the most organized group tours I’ve taken. Meals were great and the sites were unreal. The overnight stay was exciting, also nice and cozy! I wish I had been more prepared for the cold up in Salkantay pass! These guys make every effort to give you a great experience! I highly recommend!

Trip of a lifetime! We have the best time! Fredy Chucya was our guide and the theme of the trip was “Fredy knows best!” He was a wealth of knowledge and available to answers all our questions. His hospitality and humor was the icing on the cake! He set the mood for an amazing trek, teaching us of the local culture, plants, history and culture. He was kind and watched out for us the whole time. He even had some magic trick to heal one of my blisters.

We were blown away by the accommodates! From the incredible star gazing, meals with Mountain View’s, hot showers and cozy beds. This trek is so thoughtful to make sure you are able to get well rested after long days of hiking!

Where to begin with the food - Juan de Dios blew us away, he was creative with local ingredients and always had a delicious meal waiting for us. He even baked us a cake on our final night together. We wish he had a restaurant so we could eat his food again!

Isiais with Luis ocampo was our horseman who kept our belongings safe and was always great to see his smiling face along the trail.

Everyone with Salkantay Trekking went above and beyond. The actual trek itself offers a beautiful range of mountains to jungle to riverside landscapes. You go from glacier mountains to the jungle to ending with Manchu Pichu. While challenging the views make it all worth it. There is always ways to modify and the team provides breaks at the perfect time. We would recommend them to anyone and look forward to booking a future trek with them. Have no hesitations in booking this trek- you will make lifetime memories!!
