Links still being used to confirm or manage reservations
Easy to use and love the fact I get to see what other time slots or restaurants in the group are available. But in this age of scammers, using links for reservation confirmations sent via text message is terribly inappropriate and diners are not given an alternative way to confirm.
As someone who dines out regularly, the adoption of the sevenrooms platform by many of Melbourne’s top restaurants puts me at risk. And I face the inconvenience of a phone call when I do not wish to tap on a link.
Non-existant support and terrible customer service
Terrible customer service - they say their support line is open 24 hours, but most times I call from Australia, I can't get through to anyone, and an answering service says that they will call me back. Not good enough at this price, and when you have been promised 24 hour support. Once you do get in contact with someone then it usually takes over a week for your request to be actioned. This also applies to support requests when it is their fault (it usually is their fault, mostly updates that don't go to plan and change the way the system runs - they still don't assist with this!). This is the main way that our customers interact with us, and often the first port of call for their visit with us, so we expect that the experience is seamless as we rely on it so heavily. They promised the world, before we signed up, and charge a fortune, and then they forget about you and ignore support requests. I would recommend that no-one uses this company. I have worked in this space for 20 years at high profile businesses, and I could point to multiple other reservation systems that are a lot better value, do the job better, don't have issues every time the system updates, and support and customer service teams actually assist you when you need it. I think they are forgetting who the customer is.
Awful service
I don’t ever receive booking confirmation emails from seven rooms when I make restaurant bookings, I have to contact the restaurant directly to check they have my booking. I Contacted seven rooms but they refuse to help and say that’s it’s not their problem despite other people reporting the same issue
Horrible service
Horrible service, and it's not the first time. I'm just done! The booking page reloads each time I'm forced to use this 3rd-party service. I can't jump into another app to copy card details nor enter the bank app to approve the booking request, both without causing the booking page to reload and reset the booking I chose. I ended up having to using a second device to make a less desired reservation timing, while confirming the booking request on my mobile. This is stupid. Lesson learnt: It is less stressful finding another place that does not use SevenRooms, similar with viewing any websites with 'Admiral' cookie popups. It will be a simple NOPE.

Booking is efficient but get ready to receive several emails following your booking to ask you to review the restaurant. You can't unsubscribe from all of them. I would rather not use this service because of that.

Horrible. There is no reason for such continued failure to perform a fundamental task of processing a simple dinner reservation, repeatedly, across multiple restaurants. I wonder how much business is lost as a result of such simple basic flaw:
"There was a problem completing the reservation. Please try again later"

I recently visited CBco brewing in Cowaramup. The food and service was excellent and the drinks are local. Well done and I will be back soon.
Charged me $100 despite cancelling 21 minutes later.
I made a same-day booking via SevenRooms but cancelled via phone 21 minutes later due to illness. Despite the restaurant accepting the cancellation so shortly after it was made, the system still took $100 off my card. The restaurant stated they could neither stop this nor reverse it until a more senior manager returns to work. Technically, the cancellation fee is compliant with the policy (as the booking was made within 24-hours) but you'd think a restaurant would be able to override the system in certain cases -- apparently not.

Glitchy and support sucks
I've used them before a few months ago and had no issues. However twice this month, a restaurant that is not in my vicinity, that I had never heard of had two bookings from my email. The confirmation came from seven rooms booking system. I contacted seven rooms as it sounded like a software bug or glitch. However on both occasions the support just said I needed to contact the restaurant it was none of their concern. They had no interest in seeing what the issue was, when one of their restaurants are getting incorrect bookings you would expect them to care.
