They served a purpose, albeit an expensive purpose. We only need contents insurance and now have insurance through another company that covers us when we are at home and also cover us when we have guests in for Air bnb. But for Covid 19 we would probably be $1000 a year better off by not using ShareCover

We use ShareCover for our AirBnb and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody especially for short term stays when no-one else will come to the party.

No one to talk to when you have queries about the policies.

As a lawyer, I found ShareCover was one of the very few insurers providing adequate levels of insurance protection for Air bnb accommodation providers. If I didn't have Sharecover, my insurable event would have cost me tens of thousands of dollars. Believe me, you cannot afford not to have it. Despite experiencing major difficulties with the builder, I always felt that I had the support of ShareCover who stepped in to resolve the problem. Hopefully this builder will be deleted from their panel of preferred suppliers because they are very damaging to the good reputation of IAG.

A guest wrecked our rug, door(!) and floorboards plus threw up on our linen.

ShareCover was completely helpful. Luckily I picked an excess of $300 so that wasn't too painful.

From the first time I emailed them they were beaut - a lady called me back and explained how to lodge the claim (apparently I was supposed to do it online so i did that. They were pretty quick with the decision and the payment for everything. Nice to get something back and good service after I've been using them for a couple of years now.

When we decided to go over seas for awhile last year I contacted my insurance company to enquire about renting our home out through Air BnB. I wasn't aware that our insurance company can not provide the correct cover and there are not too many companies who will. Through my phone call I was given the name of Share Cover. They were exactly what we were looking for they gave me all the necessary information I required and a detailed quote for insuring our home against damage committed by someone staying at our house.
This proved to be very worthwhile in taking out as we had over $10,000 worth of damage done to our hardwood floors. It was all very easy and painless in getting the quotes to Share Cover with a detailed description of the damage. In a very short space of time we had the money in our account and I was able to pay for the damage to be fixed and only an excess of $1500 from myself. If we had not had the right insurance we would have been left with the bill to pay out of our pockets. Highly recommend Share Cover if you are thinking of renting out your home or even an investment property its imperative you get the correct insurance!!!! Money well spent!!

Before we listed our property on a number of short term rental sites we thought about worst case scenarios in the event of property damage or a guest accident and decided it would be prudent to take out insurance rather than just rely on the host guarantee programs offered by some booking platforms. Share Cover offered pay by night insurance for hosts, which we took out every time we got a booking.

A few years into renting our property out, a guest (serial sewer) decided to sue us for what we believe was a planned deliberate opportunistic minor accident.

Initially we called upon the host protection guarantee program promoted by the booking platform, from where the booking was made, however were told that they didn’t get involved in assisting hosts with legal disputes.

Our world fell apart and we closed down our rental and didn’t know what to.

We raised a claim with Share Cover through their online portal with the hope that they would assist us instead.

Sharecover were amazing from start to finish and dealt with the entire matter and other than a few progress updates, we didn’t hear from them until the case was closed and we were extremely satisfied with the outcome.

We are so excited about the new “Short Term Rental House” policy Share Cover have just introduced as it means we no longer need to have two insurance policies - one for home cover and one for short term rental cover.

Thank you Share Cover for having our back and taking the stress and anxiety out of letting our rental property.

ShareCover is my peace of mind knowing I am covered while having guests in my home helps me sleep at night.
If ever I have needed them for anything I just message them and they phone me back quickly to sort out issues I have had with guests.

Quick to settle and very polite throughout the process

I haven't had to claim from share over as yet so I don't know easy otherwise that may be. All my other interactions have been simple and seemless.

Caters exactly for our insurance needs with Airbnb platform. Web interface is easy to use, and the only time I have had a question needing to contact support the answer was prompt and the advice excellent.

We have had zero contact since lodging our claim and there is no phone number to talk to anyone.

Great platform for extra insurance for Airbnb hosts.

Turns out taking out sharecover for airbnb hosting as a back up was pointless as would be directed to Air BNB host guarantee anyway (which in itself was a bad experience).
Tried to get info from sharecover about claiming but got the runaround so gave up and took out westpac landlord insurance to be rid of the lot of them.

Excellent communication and quick to respond to questions. I have found Sharecover to be very helpful in my time with them when I needed clarification on something.

The Insurance cover for our flat on Booking.com is very fair and reasonable. We have had one claim that was paid for by Share Cover thank you, could not go without it.
