I strongly endorse SHEC Global Ltd and their approach to earning the NVQ qualification. The course offered plenty of materials and resources, and the assessor was both supportive and attentive, offering valuable feedback as needed. The flexibility of this course stood out for me, especially when contrasted with the structured nature of other educational paths.

I have recently completed the L6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Practice with SHEC and the whole experience was excellent.

The process started with an initial meeting with Nigel Lewis, who took the time to make sure the course was right for me. The sign-up was quick and easy and the induction was very straightforward and a valuable resource to reference at a later stage

My assessor was Dr. Akbar. who was extremely knowledgeable and provided clear guidance on what was required throughout the NVQ. His support, when required, made the process feel structured and manageable.

The various Unit work that I submitted was assessed quickly, the feedback and comments received was clear along with practical advice whenever it was needed. The portal was easy to navigate and use with plenty of guidance built in and available to reference whenever required

I would highly recommend SHEC to anyone looking to achieve their qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety

This is a challenging course where you have to apply yourself 100% to get it done, the assessors work with you to get you through it and are always on hand to assist with any questions or issues that you may encounter, my assessor (Dr. Akbar) assessed and evaluated all my submissions in a timely and positive manner, feedback was always very detailed and concise and where I needed to submit any resubmissions he always explained exactly what was required and what was lacking in the original submission, I really cannot praise him enough for his assistance

It’s certainly challenging—but that’s exactly what gives the qualification its value. It broadened my perspective on organisational risk, helping me to understand how different types of risk are interconnected across a business. It also pushed me to refine my research skills and explore subject areas I might not have otherwise considered, or thought I had time for.

Despite the number of modules, the flexible structure allows you to submit them in stages and receive feedback—usually within a few days. This makes it easier to adjust your approach and improve your work early on in the process.

While it can feel daunting at the start, staying focused and working steadily through the modules—without getting overwhelmed by the bigger picture—really does pay off. Even with a full-time job, I was able to fit in study during evenings and weekends and completed the diploma in just over 12 months. It’s absolutely achievable for anyone willing to commit the time and effort.

As you'd expect from a Level 7 qualification, the programme is centred on independent study and research. However, support is always available when needed, and the online portal offers a wealth of resources to guide learners toward success.

Great information as well as personal and professional understanding direct from Nigel. Every step was clear and timelines explained in clear and consistent detail. I was impressed with the professionalism and support from Nigel and his team at SHEC from initial induction to completion. Initially I was dubious about the e-portfolio, but I after a bit of guidance managed to easily navigate and subsequently complete the qualification with some useful support by SHEC.

I completed the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Health and Safety Leadership and Management in June 2024.
As someone who has always followed the traditional academic route for qualifications of ‘training course – revision - exam’, the format of this work-based qualification was a completely new concept to me and required a different approach.
The SHEC Portal was very easy to navigate and use, and the progress bar to show percentage completion was a good motivator to keep working through the units. My assessor, Nigel Lewis, provided clear guidance, promptly reviewed my submissions, and provided excellent feedback. I found that once I had made a meaningful start, the process was far less challenging than I had initially anticipated but the requirements for the qualification led me to deepen my knowledge in many areas of health and safety and expand my professional skill set.
I have no hesitation in recommending this qualification with SHEC.
