I am a shopee seller in Vietnam. Shopee Vietnam always favour customers over its sellers. I am a shopee favourite plus store and been selling for 5 years. however, shopee closed my account over a dispute from customers. they did not investigate whether I am right or wrong. this is complete ***. Thanks to this incident. I can now concentrate on my tiktok store. PLEASE DO NOT SELL ON SHOPEE!

I order a latest phone from Shopee


I order a latest phone from Shopee telefon.sg I t arrived and the phone was outdated phone model . Entirely different from the model I order. Only the camera look exactly like the model I order the whole phone is out. it was 6.5 inches phone yet the phone was only 5.5inches. it was a very slow phone . Games from playstore unable to download. Checked with seller not responding all the time. Seek the customer service asked me to click refund. After several days they informed me that refund me only when I return the phone through signpost. So many email from so many of theirs customer service sending me different instruction. one said return by 11 august, one said return by 17 august, a one said wait for him three more days to investigated. One said this and the other said that. Really very confusing. Seller finally reply through notice highlight request to refund me $11.00 to keep the phone. when no response as i rejected the seller sent again this time said refund $10 dollars to kept the phone??? End up didn't collect the phone back by ninja which was promised to collect on the 28th July, 2023 at 12 p.m to 3p.m

Beyond disappointing experience

It has been years since I have been a customer and seller on this platform.

While I enjoy shopping on this platform, I would say that the experience of being a seller here has worsened over the years.

1) Super bad customer service
They say that they understand your concerns but they don't really genuinely listen to you. It all sounds very scripted and more than half the time I don't know if they truly know what is going on when they keep switching representatives to speak on the same case.

I have also been a seller on Carousell for years. I have a dedicated representative that I can reach out to for any issues and he will get it resolved for me.

2) They don't know what is fairness
Even with hard evidence sellers lose out on unreasonable returns. This breeds even more obnoxious buying behaviors for those customers who take advantage of the system. While it is hard to balance between siding with the customers, and siding with the sellers who are also paying them a commission and advertisements, they should at least have good judgment and a good explanation for their conclusion. I don't even know what is the point of giving evidence when nobody bothers to even read.

3)Now return policy has just gotten a notch worse
Previously we are able to dispute or come to a compromise with buyers. Now, there was no say in anything apart from accepting returns or refunds only.
I have evidence of items being delivered in good condition. But what if I receive the item in bad condition? Who should bear this cost?

I'm selling fragile items and we do our own deliveries and allow customer to do a stringent check on the mirror and delivery guy will discard the box for customers after getting the greenlight that mirror is in good condition. There was a particular incident where a customer insisted to return due to change of mind, and she made a return via Ninjavan's delivery and packaged it the way THEIR customer service representative advised them to. My mirror sent to her was in good usable condition and it came back to me broken. The customer service representative blamed us for not providing proper packaging and we have to bear the cost of the damaged item on top of losing the first delivery fee.

Terrible online shopping platform

Terrible online shopping platform. Item was delivered out twice and twice never sent to me at all. After talking to the customer service, then the refund status immediately change from 3rd to 8th aug. This is cheating the customer. Totally dissappointed. Will change to another online shopping platform

INCREDIBLE BLIND RETURN/REFUND STAFF

Why return/refund is so hard with Shopee? I bought a power tower in which its advertisement stated twice "individual switch" and all of its pictures shown was socket outlets with individual switches. When the product arrived, there's only 3 switches for 3 socket outlets while the other 9 of them has no switches at all! The Ads said European standard etc.. the product arrived clean of anything, you never know if it's a reject item as it didn't carry any patent marks of its claimed European Standards in its Advertisement. All a lot of dishonest craps. And of cos Shopee staff is blind to these too.

I raise a return/refund and was rejected 4 hours later with payment released to seller and citing reason "seller sent the correct item". I then called in to explain the issues I have about the switches thinking that the assessing person might not understand what I meant in words and the hotline guy put up an email for me, only to be rejected again based on same reason. YES, I KNOW SELLER SHIPPED THE CORRECT ITEM which MISSED all the individual switches its pictures depicted SO IT IS NOT WHAT I WANT AND SELLER'S ADVERTISEMENT WITH PICTURES WERE MISLEADING AND INCORRECT. UNTRUE! AND THERE IS NO PROVE THAT IT IS OF EUROPEAN STANDARD PER ITS ADVERTISEMENT!

Using such item has a high chance of causing fire don't you know? Don't we have enough cases of incidental fire in Sg lately? Do you Shopee not have a society conscious or any ethics just to make that few miserable bucks? Or Your CEO encourages your staff to be lazy and blind, pulling your repo down to hell's drainage pit?

On top of all that, I have my fair share of nasty hiccups Shopee deal out, missing refund to my CC cos someone close the RR request day before my final return date. Luckily I have pictures of my return taken and slammed them in the email 5 weeks later.

$2 deals are of super crappy materials/deals, they are not real promotion please. Better use it in Value shop for a snack than throw in the shopee drain.

With the latest incident, I decided to quit Shopee ever and told them so, it may be the same price or slightly cheaper to buy direct from China including shipment and return/refunds policy is a breeze, no questions asked. Singaporeans, you are being taken advantage of you know? If I buy direct from China, there's no guarantee, so what's the difference buying from Shopee? Its the same thing from the same manufacturing country, Shopee isn't gonna do audits for you. When the item arrived in bad shape or wrong to its spec OR I simply don't want it anymore, I can raise returns/refund without any hassles and get my refund promptly. I wonder how is it that China Customer Service is so PRO compared to the lazy arses here in our Singapore.

Shopee should not even deserve 1 star from its inability to remain versatile and competitive in the global market. Hiring those cheap and lazy staff won't do too in today's marketplace. It obviously do not have the resources to evaluate seller's listing/items to ensure its compliance to legal requirements or customers' expectation. It just sit there to collect middle man's coins when a transaction takes place after it set up its platform etc and thinks that's enough for the next 10 yrs.

When you visit the electrical shop, most products would carry the safety mark, why not Shopee? If they can't comply, our GOVT shouldn't let them sell such for fire safety reasons in our tiny heartlands.

Suck Service

Been 3 weeks my issue still has not been solved and it will never be solved. Fault its on their end and kept telling me different answers every single time . Their customer service dont understand the problem in the first place and say I have to solve it on my own. Never purchasing from shopee and would give 0 stars if there is an option . Such a big organisation and backend is super terrible. Called 3 times and sent emails past 3 weeks . Date of experience ? Lost track been on going non stop . Cant even solve my problem and just give me standard textbook answer when the fault is on their side . Dont buy from Shopee literally lost another customer and more in the future

Just apalling

Just apalling.

3 separate attempts to obtain a partial (one-fifth!) refund for 3 out of 15 items which were obviously sent as damaged good, was replied with the same stock "You did not provide us evidence". This is despite clearly uploading pictures of said goods in the refund ticket.

Roll the dice, take a a gamble but be prepared to lose some money occasionally.

Customer service poor experience

I read the reviews in this column and I find I am not alone in this situation of Shopee Express missing out on deliveries but also the customer service is quite incapable to resolve your issue on their own delivery services.
In my case my app shows item out for delivery but already been 7 days, the app status remains unchange and I have not receive any PIN code for pickup point. I called helpdesk, I emailed, and all I receive is standard template replies just like what you read here - leave your order ID, tracking number with them and they will need 3 business days to turn around.
This tactic just wears you down until you give up.
I started the refund process, and from what I read here in this column, this will be no better. So I guess when Shopee read this column, it will ask me for order ID details etc. Well, look into your backlog.

Worst delivery service ever

Worst delivery service ever

Needed item on time for work, but item had a status of "not found with driver, will investigate", then when I called Shopee to check, all they could do is they will leave a remark to logistics.

And then Logistics has ZERO updates as well and there is no change to my status. Despite delivery date already passed. I had to delay my work twice, and I had a hard time explaining.

Until I had it and raised a refund request, then suddenly magically item is "at delivery hub" again.

So moral of the story is, raise return/refund order once you see item delayed. Then they'll start doing work.

Mind you, I still haven't received my item yet. Return agent needs 5-7 working days to investigate, while logistics agents still haven't seen the "remarks" from the customer service.

I don't even know if Shopee lost my item, or item was taken by Shopee deliverer or someone else. Or goodness knows what happened.

If I could give 0 stars, I would.

gotten very bad

concerning to shopee.ph: this has gotten very bad. delivery times are beyond good and bad. Immediately after the order is placed, the item is declared as "packaged" and it is then no longer possible to cancel. a week after the "packaging" then the message that the item is on the Ninja truck. It is best to check payment on delivery because some things may never arrive. my friend paid in advance and nothing ever arrived. it's not possible to contact shopee directly, i couldn't find an email address on the website... i just ordered a chainsaw with lazada, let's see, maybe just lazada soon. I deleted the shopee account

Getting bad to worse

All along since few years ago, I have been a regular customer of shopee. And now the delivery service is getting worse, packages delayed, fees are much higher than other shopping platforms, customer service are not helpful. Imagine a local parcel take almost a week and still not deliver yet, delivery status failed despite customer is at home waiting and NO CALLS from delivery person.

The most badly run company in the world. CEO is sleeping. Customer service department is the worst in the world. After you changed a new handphone, but retained the old number, you can't buy anymore. And it took the customer service more than 3 months, yet don't know what to do. A bunch of jokers.

Shopee express sucks

I don't know, Whether Shopee Singapore CEO even looking into these reviews or he is chilling out in beach always. No accountability regarding courier related queries. They take their own time to deliver the parcels. When approached CC, Response is very rude. If you want your pacakge extend the shopee warranty. if not we can cancel the order and refund you once it reaches back to seller, You people absolutely failed to deliver a product which is marked as out for delivery and talking about sending back to seller. So i have to wait another year to get my refund or so.

worst courier

shopee being one of the most used ecommerce platforms in singapore, failed their own courier services. Even Ninjavan and other outsource courier service is more efficient than Shopee’s own courier. order place on 5th june, expected delivery by 9th june. till date have not received. come on, u take mrt from pasir ris to tuas at most 1hr45mins. emailed them that the courier status stopped updating, they say to give 3 working days to resolve???? 3 working days for what? when its a phone call away to ask abt the parcel’s status. seriously, worst courier ever.

No delivery yet took my money. Refund even rejected!

Shopee claimed to have delivered my order but it never arrived. Spent 1 month with their CS who promised to revert but they just plainly took my payment and rejected all my refund request. Then they proceed to close my case using a proof of delivery photo which is a second parcel sent same day. I expected 2 parcels from 2 shopee merchants only 1 arrived. All the reply was sorry we have proof of delivery. My money is gone and nothing came! Feedback on social media or sites return the same templated response. After 5 years as a loyal buyer..I am moving on to Lazada and Amazon. Pretty sure I am not the only one as people around are reporting similar bad experiences and loss of money.

I have been purchased items from Shopee for many years. The last item I purchased from Shopee was a Blackdog camping tent. The expected delivery date was suppose to be on 20th and was late for four days. after I placed my order I straight contact the seller to send out my order asap and also contacted Shopee customer service a few times to escalate my order.As I need this camping tent on 21st which I believe Shopee can delivery my item on time(because the item located in Malaysia so naturally it should be earlier because it near Singapore). On the same day I also purchased an item from Tao Bao. To my surprise the item from Tao bao arrived on 15th. I had contacted Shopee customer service a few times. They said if my order did not arrive on 20th I can request a refund. On 20th my order did not arrive so I waited till 21st (which is my camping trip) then i request to cancel my order and have to rush to store to buy a new camping tent for my camping trip. What make it worse is the delay of the order causes me to arrive at the camping site at night about 8+pm!!!. I had submitted three refund request and all was rejected. The packing even had damaged(a big hole) on it which I submitted my proof. They don't even care about your item. I purchased the camping tent at $800++ not $8 item. I have been force to accept the item even Shopee cause the delay(they have admitted in the email) and my item not pack properly(they said doesn't affect the item). From the damage you can see how they delivery your $800++ item. They don't even care to contact me. I have already cancel my account with Shopee and asked the delivery guy to send back the item to Shopee which is not acceptable to me. Hey Shopee you have your company policy but we as consumer also need respect. Look for you google reviews I believe sooner you get what you want.
