The worst company ever. They are selling broken items and non working electronics with high price.
And they don’t accept return items also I paid hammer fee and buyer’s protection fee extra.
This is a fraud company 👎

This company is an absolute SCAM. They will show you 3 images on the item but not telling you what is missing. Don't ever join their auctions. Read all the reviews that this company have and you will be surprise and regret if you had join the bid. Do not ever join the auction. Find other auctions.

Wow don't ever try to give this company some constructive criticism as they immediately cancel your membership totally unprofessional stay away

Here we go.again simon charles locked me out again think this is because of my reviews they only reply when.they get.good.reviews sent email once.again to no avail.there.quick.to.charge 19.00 pounds and quick to charge vat plus 20 percent to buy.then.when you.get to.a 200 pound bid they say.for me to bid higher I have to pay 200 pounds plus 5.00 charge and also you have to request it back tot con so failing a response going to trading standards etc possible small claim court !!!!!with all the reviews that's posted

I won a bid for the first time on boxed cosmetics. The picture on the auction site had no defects showing on the box and no defects mentioned in the description. When I went to collect it, the front of the box had been slashed across with a Stanley knife. The men in the warehouse noted the damage and how it differed from the picture and description and told me if they contacted customer service on my behalf, they would probably refuse to do anything about it, and I would have to drive all the way back to Stockport to pick it up again.

I'm not happy. What's the point when items are not as described and pictured and you never know what you're going to actually get?

They sell TAT that doesn't work ! A simple switch on would show this ! But money before honour and principles with this site !

I’m a great believer in giving the benefit of the doubt…..but after terrible quality items and even worse customer service, I think I’ll stick with John Pye. Avoid this company and its low quality listings

Awful customer service. Had to pay a redelivery fee even though I had not be notified (by email or calling card) that there had been a delivery attempt and it got returned to sender. They then put a 48 hour payment deadline on me for the redelivery fee over the weekend when I couldn’t get through to them. After 5 phone calls, they told me that I had to pay the fee or they’d re-auction my items, essentially forcing me into paying it even though I disputed it. The returns department were seemingly never available to speak, leaving me in the hands of the same customer service agent who was unable to get any additional support. When I asked to complain, I was told I couldn’t because the returns department was unavailable…very disorganised and confusingly run customer service teams

Computer bid told me that I had not bidded enough so I increased the amount only to find I was bidding against myself that's me done with that I'm not paying to bid against myself obviously a fixed auction

Bought 3 pallets and on arrival to collect got told someone else took them earlier that day. No refund told me own fault which baffles me. Manager a muppet. Been to police will stay well clear now and use somewhere that has a better system in place to stop theft and inside Jobs!!!!

I won the auction for a JBL xtreme 3 , it cost £73. I had to send several emails for a week ,they first told me that they there was a delay due to personnel then they said the item couldn't be found and my money was to be refunded back to me. I had a feeling when I won the bid that I might not get the item. From the picture it looked brand new. The power leads and connectors where still in their packaging. I asked for compensaton but they didn't respond to my email. What if it was the other way round and I didn't pay after winning the auction for the item. Would they have said don't worry or bill me for wasting their time and money? I missed out on a good deal the secondhand value is about £200 for the item. Not impressed at all , compensation is due. It ain't my fault that they misplaced the item. I only have their word. I won't be too surprised if a member of staff nicked it or it reappears in another auction.

Bought lots of stuff from them last year - don’t bother. 99 percent of electronics don’t work.
They’d package and send absolutely dirty items to you.
A waste of money.

I have bought a few items from here and i will explain my findings so hopefully people do not make the same mistakes that I do
1. DO NOT BUY ELECTRONICS OR ANYTHING FROM THE RAW UNPROCESSED RETURNS- these are basically items that are much more suited for the skip but the auction site sells them for a profit.
-Ordered a vacuum cleaner- received without a battery or even a plug (literally the head only).
- Ordered an air-fryer- (had a note inside from the customer who had previously returned stating "broken leg therefore dangerous for use". Again this item was fit for the skip only.
-Ordered what was stated as "BRAND NEW" thermometer- once again this did NOT work

2. Cosmetics
I have never seen such a misleading website. And they mislead on purpose. A perfume set with 2 body creams shown in the image (only to find out that the 2 body creams were in fact dummies!!!)
-Most cosmetics are out of date- ordered an eye cream (4 years out of date!!!)

3. Household items
Ordered a bin- they take pictures of the non-damaged side only. Upon receiving there was a huge dent on the side. The picture clearly misleading.

All i can say is, do not buy unless you can physically check the state of each item at the auction house. If you want to buy an electronic item then be sure to make sure you find out if it works beforehand.

I feel that they mislead on purpose by taking pictures of the non-damaged angles only.

Just my perspective.

Please avoid this site unless you will be physically checking this yourself.

I have dealt with a variety of auction houses over the years and I will start with a few points:
-if you don’t go and view in person then you take the risk with what you buy
-auctions are a risk generally and sometimes items are damaged or don’t work and sometimes they are great
-if you don’t want the risk: go and buy from a shop and pay 10x the amount.

Simon Charles is new to me and I have only been dealing with them for around 2-3 months. There has been the odd hiccup where I’ve had to email about items that couldn’t be found etc but on the whole I think they are great to deal with. The lads at the handforth site especially are great, really helpful and always cheerful….if you’re nice to them I’m sure they will be nice and helpful with you. There is a bit of a wait when collecting but again in my experience this is perfectly normal. They don’t have to help you load but if you need a hand and they have the time then they will.
I have had some great stuff from there and some absolute bargains (to be transparent I have also had a couple of not so great items but I put this down to my own fault as I don’t tend to view before bidding). Yes you have to know what you’re doing and have a good idea what you’re buying but whether you’re buying for yourself or to sell on it can be a great way to get stuff.
If you want a guaranteed perfect condition, brand new item; go to a shop and I would say that auctions in general aren’t for you. If you’re happy to potentially get high value items for minimal cost then I would definitely recommend.
I will continue using Simon Charles and I am happy with all my dealings with them so far.

Never Again. I’m a pensioner with mobility problems. I bought a robot floor cleaner and paid £72. When it arrived there was no charger or battery. When I rang up to complain I was told I should have examined it before buying it. It is too far for me to travel which is why I do all my shopping on line. If my item was a return - what business would accept an item with the charger and battery missing. It was a con. Rather than looking at the item and getting more and more angry, I asked my son to throw it in the bin - which he did.£72 would have give me a lot of gas and food for me this Winter. I’ve been conned.

Am really sorry to say that all have checked on your auction reviews now seems to be true if i spent over £250 in your auction and my goods
was sent back due to situation that is non at all my fault and for over a month i still have not received my winnings and no body i mean no body
is taking responsibility to even respond to my emails on the situations.Its a sign the organisations need to look deep into what they are doing .

Looking at this it is almost one month since have paid in full and still have not received my order and you keep saying in your site review that people are not telling the truth.
Am not even angry all i want is an answer when my winning will be deliverd that is all that matters now or are you going to refund me since you are not sending my winning.
Treat your organisation with the respect it deserve so people can also respect those of you that works in it or owns it

I have been dealing with Simon Charles Auctioneers for many years and have found them to be a great auctioneer.

I brought 2 lots of stuff from this auction house. First was a pair of headphones. It is an auction house I have got stuff from these places before and understand what might happen.
The headphones arrived as expected. Did however take a week to receive them.
During this time I have bid and won another lot of stuff. I had paid for these the next day after I had paid for the headphones.
I had also bid on other stuff but failed to pay so my account was suspended shortly after I received the headphones.
In the meantime I would of still expected to receive the other lot I had already paid for (before the account suspension).
However nothing as arrived and my emails have been unanswered and the phone line keeps ringing out.
This was 10 days ago I had made the payment for £76.17.
I guess they think they can keep my money due to the account being suspended.
I saw it coming and informed my bank and got the £76.17 back the next day from Barclays.
If like me you are waiting, make a claim in your banking app. It is unfair practice to just take money and then not answer calls or deliver as promised.

How a company of this size has one outdated BT telephone line is beyond me. I've called for over 4 hours and the telephone lines are constantlyengaged. Bought a TV on auction, now it almost impossible to book a collection, could mean wasting my time. All I can say except poor service if you buy from Simon Charles

I want to SELL surplus stock with these people. All the stock is new and there is a lot of it.

Over the last MONTH they have repeatedly told me they were moving warehouse but they would definitely accept the stock.

This was important to me as otherwise I would have to pay another months storage.

Phoned today for the sixth time to be told that they do not accept this sort of stock.

From reading other peoples reviews it seems like they only take in stock that is broken, damaged or misrepresented in one way or another.

I would not want to be associated with this sort of Company.
