Quick efficient service, my go to for all my hygienist appointments.

I’m currently undergoing dental treatment with Dr. Michel Furtado at Smilepod Jubilee Place, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results so far. From start to finish my experience was incredible! The reception team were always super helpful & friendly, but Dr. Stephen was amazing, made everything so clear & simple. Gave me a variety of options for my journey but ultimately wanted me to be happy!! The session was pain free and totally enjoyable I am a new girl and left feeling so confident and happy with my new smile. I’ve already recommended to so many friends and family!

I would strong advise anyone considering Invisalign treatment at this dentist to think twice. My experience under the care of Dr Ilze Van Der Merwe was deeply disappointing from start to finish. During my first visit, while she performing x-rays, the door was left wide open, leaving me feeling exposed and embarrassed as patients in the waiting room could see me. She barked at me to stop moving so she could complete the xray, which obviously made me question her professionalism I regret not reconsidering my decision to continue with her for invisalign team.

Throughout the process, I had to attend numerous unnecessary appointments because the composite she applied kept falling off. The treatment ended early because I could not stand visiting her any longer. To make matters worse, the retainer I paid £300 for came off for the third time last week. After speaking with another dentist, I was informed that the retainer had not been fitted correctly - it was not my fault, but due to bad practice.

I would not have bothered writing this review, given that my treatment ended in September last year. However, due to her incompetence, my bottom teeth have since moved despite wearing both a fixed returned and night retainer as instructed. With the expectation of the lovely dental nurse, this has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience.

I would not recommend this dentist in Canary Wharf. I went for a check up and the dentist found that there were some issues with my teeth. I was unhappy with the way she communicated with me, describing one tooth as rotten and then telling me how I do not clean well enough and it is all due to bad hygiene, when I know I clean well enough and that there must be other factors at play. She really made me stressed out that I would lose all my teeth and scared me about eating anything.
My second issue is that she told me I would need to do deep cleaning and then have 4 fillings and then told me to book an appointment. When I was booking the next appointment they took a deposit of £85 so I asked if this is the cost of the next treatment and they said no it's just a deposit. So I asked them what is the full cost and they said they will email it to me. After I left the dentist and received the full cost I was shocked that it was over £1800 but I thought that's fair enough if thats what it costs, but they should have told me this before taking a deposit for the next appointment. I feel they aren't transparent with their costs because they know they are extortionate.
I decided to get a second opinion and went to a local dental surgery who were so much kinder to me, did not fear monger and their cost was over £1000 less than smile pod. Also they were completely transparent about their costs, providing me a full breakdown before booking any further appointments or taking payment. Also when smilepod were poking around my mouth they caused me to shout out in pain whereas the local dentist was so gentle.
I feel like this place is all about money making and I am worried for any vulnerable people who may end up there and get sucked into the fearmongering and pushed into booking appointments and paying for treatments they could get cheaper elsewhere.
They need to be kinder and more transparent about their costs.

I had an orthodontic treatment with fixed braces (lingual braces at the top and tooth coloured at the bottom) between 2019 and 2022 with Dr. Raj.

Pros:
-compared to friends who had Invisalign treament I think my result is better
-all the appointments were on time and it was easy to get emergency appointments when needed
-the all inclusive price and payment plan was helpful in terms of managing finances
-all the staff were always very friendly and polite
-visually the braces were not very noticeable and some of my colleagues didnt even notice I had them

Cons
-the treatment was much more painful than I expected
-the braces rub against your cheeks and I had a lot of issues with broken braces and wires that were sticking out and hurting me
-It was initially estimated that the treatment would take about 18 months but it took more than twice as long (about three years)
-although I am overall happy with the result, my teeth don't look as good as I was hoping they would following the treatment. This is not because the orthodontist didn't do a good job but because my expectations were probably unrealistic in the first place.

I would recommend to talk through expectations and what results you expect before commencing the treatment. If you are willing to tolerate the pain and the long treatment, you will likely end up with a better result vs Invisalign.

Dr Zahra made me feel at ease from the moment I arrived. Told me exactly what was going to happen and advised on the steps that I could take. No pressure to do any work there and then. But I had the knowledge to make those decisions at home.
