Smolaelan is a premium island-inspired brand focused on ethically sourced products from the Pacific Islands, including single-origin chocolate, traditional kava, and natural oils and skincare. We work directly with local producers to ensure fair sourcing, high quality, and authentic products that reflect true island heritage. Our goal is to deliver natural, premium products with transparency and customer trust at the core of everything we do. We currently import from Vanuatu, and we are the official representatives of Aelan Vanuatu here in New Zealand and Australia. Smolaelan was founded in New Zealand after I gained firsthand experience working with Aelan Chocolate, a community-owned chocolate producer in Vanuatu that is owned by a local NGO and managed by my mother. Through this experience, I realised how difficult it is for small Pacific Island businesses to access international markets, handle export logistics, and compete globally despite having world-class products. Smolaelan was created to bridge that gap. We help ethical, community-driven producers in Vanuatu expand into overseas markets while preserving cultural authenticity, sustainability, and fair trade practices. By working directly with farmers, cooperatives, and local enterprises, we ensure traceable sourcing, fair compensation, and premium-quality products for our customers.
