AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The worst customer experience I have ever had. We ordered our sofa in November in the Black Friday sale, it is now April and it still hasn’t been delivered.

Our sofa was advertised as 2-3 months delivery online. We spent ages picking out what we wanted and when it came time to order we were told 3-4 months. We thought this was a bit crazy but we had put so much time into choosing the perfect sofa we decided it was worth it.

I called in Feb to ask for an update and was told I could call in March for a more specific date. I called on 1st March and was told it had arrived in their Belfast warehouse. However, their Dublin warehouse would be closed for the next two weeks for renovations. I was assured it would arrive in the first shipment from Belfast in the 3rd week of March.

Tell me something, if they are aware the warehouse will be closed why don’t they organise alternative delivery arrangements? Belfast is only 1hr30 away. Give me the money to rent a van and I would have collected it myself. That’s just pure laziness and a lack of care for their customers.

I called on the 16th March, only to be told the warehouse actually wouldn’t reopen until that Wednesday and they would call me back after speaking to the warehouse. I didn’t receive a call back by late on Wednesday, so I called them. I was told that no shipments are arriving to the warehouse at all that week and they don’t know why I was promised that. I called again Thursday, and I was again promised it would arrive on the first shipment the following week.

Fast forward to Monday 23rd. I heard nothing, all week. On the 27th I called again, and was told they could see it was in transit. So very obviously, it didn’t come in the first shipment that week did it? In fact, it didn’t arrive at all that week. More broken promises.

On Monday 30th March I called again. I was told that they weren’t sure if the sofa had arrived and would hopefully know later that day. I asked if it has arrived, when will it be delivered? I was told hopefully this week but if not then next week. I pushed back and said I have been messed around so much, it has to be this week. I then discover that they only deliver to my area on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9-4 and that I would have been told this when I ordered. I was in fact not told this, and I work those days. No one is home on those days at those times. They expected me to have a family member wait in my home all day for the delivery, as though they also don’t have jobs.

Eventually I am told to await a call back. Shockingly, I get a call back after an hour. I was told that they have arranged for my sofa to be delivered on Friday 3rd April, a day I told them I would be home. I was very thankful. Sound too good to be true? It was. I waited around all day Friday. At 2pm I had heard nothing so called the store. They contacted the warehouse for me to see what the story was. I got a call back only to be told that it wouldn’t be delivered today. In fact, their warehouse closed at 1pm. Apparently there was a ‘glitch’ in their system. Yeah, sure. She acted as though they were going to do me a favour and squeeze me in for delivery Tuesday 7th, when I won’t be home.

I was then promised delivery before I leave for work on Thursday 9th or on Friday 10th. I do not trust these empty promises.

I am incredibly upset and angry. I will not be letting this go. I did send an email complaining on the 19th March and was completely dismissed, they just stated that all delivery times are estimates. That may be written in your fine print, but it is a consumer right to have your goods delivered in a REASONABLE time frame. This is not reasonable.

If they had been honest this whole time that would be one thing, but to be constantly told lies and false promises is something else. This has caused me a lot of stress and has wasted so much of my time.

If you’re thinking of ordering from Sofatime, save yourself the headache and order from somewhere else instead.

I bought a Fitzroy corner couch which was delivered mid November. On the 15th of December multiple seems started to stretch and rip. I’ve been trying to get it dealt with since and have had no luck. I’ve emailed, called multiple times, even physically went into the shop to which I’ve been advised someone would be in contact immediately and nothing. I am now forced to take this further as the couch was not cheap and clearly the company don’t give a shit that they’re selling faulty goods. Avoid at all costs!

Update: 8th of April and still being pawned off by shop staff! No one will contact me and I’m left with a not fit for purpose couch after spending thousands! Legal action is under way but please don’t put yourself through this, it’s such a pain!!

We went to Dream Beds in Sofa-time in Blanchardstown to purchase a bed. Loretta looked after us. We have to say she was great. Loretta gave us time to browse through and find what we liked and when we made our decision Loretta went through all of our options and it was seamless from choosing to purchasing

Ordered a sofa in oct was promised it would be delivered before chrustmas never got any communicatiin till i went to the store friday befire christmas and was told that it wouldnt be deluvered before christmas and still never got a date .I had aleady paid for the suite and git the impression from them that weve got your money and theirs nothing you can do. Was contacted on the 27th and told that my delivery date was 6th of january even though I told them that I was flying out on that date when they give me a date of 22jan 13 weeks after my purchase. I contacted customer care who didnt seem to care about my complaint saying that I had been told that delivery would be end of november start of dec and as I was informed on the 27th december that it was in the delivery time .I pointed out that nobody had contacted me to let me know what the problem was and no apology for the delay he told me that they dont reach out to anybody which I tried pointing out to him that that was poor customer care. Just want to advise anybody on these reviews that if you go into any of their stores do not listen to any of their promises as they do not intend living up to them and if you contact customer care do not expect any apologies or anybody reaching out to you to try and accomodate you as they just don,t care

Dishonest, unprofessional and completely unreliable.

Absolutely terrible experience from Sofatime Blanchardstown, Dublin Branch. This retailer branch repeatedly lied about stock and delivery. I was promised by the sales man that; the sofa was available in Limerick and would be delivered within days, which I found out later it was untrue. Not only this person but also the store manager gave false assurances and even claimed the sofa was “out for delivery,” causing me to wait all day for nothing, at this time I understood it is kind of scam. I had to visit the store multiple times just to get more false information. After weeks of stress and being misled—right before Christmas—I was forced to cancel my order. Dishonest, unprofessional, and completely unreliable.

Missed Guranteed Delivery Date/ No communication

Ordered sofa on 12th October with promise of Guranteed delivery before Christmas, the expectation being it would be delivered in early december. Rang every week for an update to be told 'it will be delivered before christmas'. Tried to call stores on 20th december for an update and all phones off due to christmas closure. After emailing a heap of times and complaing on social media, was called today - 23rd december by belfast store to be told 'it will probably be another week' and the 'guranteed before christmas' was just an appoximate. Its now 23rd december and still no update on when the couch was coming. The guy on the phone also said there was no record of us paying the rest of the deposit when we paid it all online a week ago. Really bad service, no comp offered. Dont recommend.

Excellent shopping experience. Will return!

Having had a terrible experience with buying a sofa from another shop and feeling so let down, we decided to try SofaTime. Chloe, Lisa and Loretta were so nice to deal with and so down to earth. Will go back again for sure. We were well looked after in the shop and left with exactly what we wanted at a great price. Thank you so much ladies!! 5 star experience.
