Disappointed
I've just been to your Lake store and whilst the service was good I could not access the upstairs as their is no lift and I am disabled. I was told to go to Newport which is all on one level but has no parking so that's not much good. Also they do not do a disposal service, all I was given was a telephone number for someone who would take my old furniture away which is not very helpful as it would cost quite a bit on top of the price of the furniture I would like to buy. All in all quite a disappointing service

We are very sorry to hear you are disappointed with your visit to our Lake Store yesterday. Our apologies for the lack of lift, unfortunately older buildings are harder to make disability friendly, however we are working on this. Due to us not having a lift in store we are happy to bring items from the upper level downstairs for customers to view if arranged in advance. We are very sorry you were left disappointed.
Regarding our Newport Store, there is unfortunately no public parking, however if you would like to visit in the future please call in advance and we will be able to arrange something regarding our staff parking.
We don’t offer an inhouse disposal service for two reasons, the first being due to hygiene reasons we do not want to have both old and new in the same van, therefore we have chosen not to seek the license required. However, we recommend and provide the details of a local business who are very reasonably priced.

Good quality furniture and accessories
The staff are so helpful and friendly without being at all pushy. Customer Service have been brilliant when I needed to return an item and kept me informed all through the process, making sure I didn't lose out.

Excellent Customer Service
This was our first experience with Solent Beds and Furniture. All the staff are very pleasant and we spoke to Paul who went the extra mile to find exactly what we wanted. We ordered 4 pieces of furniture which arrived well within the estimated time. One important piece of furniture which we were waiting for, after speaking to Paul on the phone he managed to chase it up and we had it in days not weeks! This will certainly be our first port of call for any more of our furniture needs.

We bought 2 new sofas from Solent…
We bought 2 new sofas from Solent Furniture, it wasn’t until a week after the delivery we noticed a small hole in the fabric of one of the cushions.
We phoned to explain what we had found, and from there on the service was absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. We had numerous calls to keep us up to date with the progress and when it was due to arrive, when the guy came it didn’t take long for him to fit the replacement. Followed by another call after that to check we were happy with the replacement.
One of the best customer services I have come across.

I ordered a Carisbrooke triple wardrobe
I ordered a Carisbrooke triple wardrobe. Effectively, there are two wardrobes that are bolted together. On the smaller wardrobe, there was a fault with a slight overhang at the top, meaning the two would not butt together. Solent requested a replacement on two occasions, each time the same, a overhang. On the third occasion, the wardrobe was good with no overhang. It took a few months, but it was for a spare room, so it was not a big deal for me. I was given £50 for the inconvenience. Solent were not at fault, and Jamie and his team worked tirelessly to get it right.
The guys who delivered and put the two wardrobes together were excellent.

BUYERS BEWARE
Having bought a leather sofa from the clearance store, we were very pleased until it was delivered, the delivery men had scratched the leather on one side, SBF did exchange after a week with another sofa , however after sitting on this ,realised there was a problem as you got tilted towards the centre on both end seats. Solent beds put it down to being ex display and we should have picked up on the fault. Despite having looked into it on the ombudsman site and realising we had comeback, Solent beds refused to swap it back for the original one and because they are not registered with the ombudsman any further action would have been at more expense to me. Over the years I have been a loyal customer to this Island firm , but never again, its the mainland for me.

As you mentioned in your review there was unfortunately some damage to the original sofa which you purchased. Following this we exchanged this for an Ex-display 3 seater sofa which you looked over and confirmed you were happy with before purchase. As we have explained there was no manufacturer guarantee remaining due to being ex-display, however we are happy to honour a 1 year in-store guarantee if any faults are found. Due to this, one of our senior sales team did come out to you and inspect the sofa for faults. Following the inspection there were no manufacturing faults found. It was explained that the sofa is experiencing settlement within tolerance and this will level out over time.
We have discussed an alternative option with you as you are unhappy with the current decision, which at this time you have rejected. However if you would like to explore this option further, please don’t hesitate to get back in contact with us either by telephone or email.

Solent beds Riverway ☆☆☆☆☆
We bought a double bed/mattress from the Riverway store. Sam was absolutely brilliant in helping us find exactly what we were after. And couldn't have been more helpful after we had a slight issue with the delivery, sorting the problem out straight away.
The delivery drivers were spot on and couldn't have been more helpful also.
Overall a great experience from Solent beds at Riverway and a big thank you to Sam!

Easy Online Ordering, Quick Delivery, Very Happy
Very easy to order online. Ordered two Divan bed bases and was initially given a 4-6 week delivery time. This was updated via email to 1 week. I called to check on my order and was able to book the delivery for the following Monday. The two delivery guys were professional and friendly, and put the bed bases exactly were I needed them. I would definitely recommend Solent Beds, and will happily use them again.

We bought an expensive 3 piece suite
We bought an expensive 3 piece suite . An issue developed with the fabric after a few weeks and we contacted Solent Beds. They were receptive and apologetic . In particular Jamie chased our cause with the manufacturer and through his dedication and professionalism the suite was replaced. We chose a new fabric and within a few weeks our replacement was delivered at no cost . I would heartily recommend Solent Beds - we have bought many times beforehand too and both their products and after sales care is exceptional .

The problem with our new sofa was resolved without too much fuss. New sofa delivered today. Delivery men were very polite and Jamie, from customer service, was most helpful. This is the Second item from Solent beds and we find them excellent.

We bought a suite that was a GPlan
We bought a suite that was a GPlan, we had a problem with one of the chairs.
And Solent beds handled it perfectly, and totally professional, you can always tell how good a company is, when you have a problem, and from the time of purchase, until the replacement chair arrived, they was great, and would recommend, we have bought quite a few items from them, and every experience has been a good one from Solent Beds.

Great customer service
Great customer service. We had an issue with one of the ottoman beds we purchased. It was only noticed a couple of months later. The team dealt with it exceptionally professionally and resolved it without any issues.

Received terrible customer service…
Received terrible customer service after buying a recliner chair. The seat cushion had a visible crease in it which I did complain to the store about but was told that it would smooth out (but hasn’t) and both arm rests also developed creasing after a couple of days too. Solent beds arranged for a technician from the manufacturer to come and inspect it but I was told that it was normal for that type of fabric and because the chair was fibre filled and Solent Beds refuse to do anything about it. I paid £699 for the chair which is a lot of money for a pensioner and I would not have purchased it had I been made aware of the likelihood of the defects that would occur with this type of fabric as after only 6 weeks it now looks like it is 10 years old!!
I will now be contacting trading standards and I will go elsewhere in future
