au debut orthese au top ; puis j ai du avoir une couronne sur molaire ; suite à ca l orthese du haut ne se clipsait plus; mon dentiste m afait un nouveau moulage , et ademande un reajustement , j ai paye 106 euro (en retraite c est deja une somme pour moi) et quand j ai recu orthese avec modification tres difficile à mettre, douleurs aux niveaux incisives ; comme j avais moulage chez moi j ai essaye de poser orthese dessus et oh surprise elle ne s emboite pas sur moulage....... c est tout de meme une prescription medicale! mon dentiste essaie de joindre somnomed pour trouver une solution mais ca ne repond pas!

Aangezien de bovenste beugel de onderste naar achter duwt, heb ik meer last van mijn apneu.
Kunt u mij uitleggen hoe dit zou moeten werken voor mij?
De oude beugel (ander merk) duwde juist mijn onderkaak naar voren zodat het snurken voorkomen werd.

Customer service is excellent but my experience with the guard has been frustrating. Appreciate how accommodating they are to assist and communicate which makes a stressful situation easier to deal with

My experience has been great

My experience has been great, prior to getting the Somnomed I was using an over the counter mouth guard to help with my snoring and teeth grinding. This one is a dream compared to the over the counter type. - it’s comfortable to wear, I don’t keep taking it out in my sleep and it’s making a difference.

I love that I can still talk and drink when wearing it and most importantly 95% of the time I’m not waking up with a headache which means it’s cut down on my snoring and teeth grinding considerably.

The SomnoMed has met my expectations, and I sleep so much better with it in.

Snorker

I have stopped snoring which my husband loves, what more could I ask. The splint lived up to its promise. I feel better using it, and don’t wake with a start any longer.

Disappointed

I regret that the night guard has not met my expectations or those of my dentist. In fact, its use has introduced additional concerns, including aggravated temporomandibular joint (TMJ) issues, jaw pain, and daily headaches. Furthermore, I've determined that the guard will not provide a long-term solution for my sleep apnea. At best, it offers only a marginal reduction in snoring, yet I experience a diminished sense of well-being when wearing it. Consequently, I am quite dissatisfied with this purchase.

Discomfort, TMJ aggravation, or headaches are not typical outcomes, and these symptoms can sometimes indicate an issue with fit or suitability. We therefore strongly recommend checking in with your treating dentist. They’ll be able to assess the appliance, make any necessary adjustments, and discuss whether it is the right option for your specific need; particularly in relation to TMJ concerns and sleep apnea management.

I have had Somno products for 10 years

I have used SomnoMed products for 10 years. My first was the Classic / Flex and l had no problems with that device. It developed a crack a few months ago and l had to get a replacement. Went to my dentist and ordered a replacement but this time the Avant. I have had problems using this device with trying to open my mouth to inhale air. Subsequently l am back using my old device with the crack. After speaking with SomnMed l am going to discuss with my dentist about returning to the Classic device type.

Thank you for being a SomnoMed user for the past 10 years. We’re glad your Classic/Flex served you well, and we’re disappointed to hear you’re having difficulty with the Avant.
Challenges with airflow or mouth opening can often be addressed with adjustments, so we recommend checking back with your dentist. They can also request a remake of your previous Classic/Flex design if that was more suitable for you.
We do not recommend that you continue using a cracked device, as it may compromise both comfort and safety in addition to reducing the effectiveness of the device.

My experience with the Somnomed MRA…

My experience with the Somnomed MRA over more than 7 years now has been very good. I am still using the previous model with the "fins", so not the straps. What is however critical is that every morning you use the blue coloured "mouth guard" to 'push' you jaws back into normal position. I have been doing this faithfully for 7 years and I am not experiencing jaw problems.

I have noticed a difference in the sleep I'm getting

I have noticed a difference in the quality and amount of sleep I am getting. My headaches have also decreased quite a bit. Easy to wear.

Very effective, few concerns

The device fits well and has significantly reduced snoring. Occasionally lower part comes out but not significant issue. No jaw pain. I have impression that lower jaw has advanced a bit (bite seems smaller) but this would need to be measured and is not a concern. I do think the 2.0 band I used has stretched a little. If it gets worse will consult with practitioner. Not hard to clean once you get into a routine. Recommend highly

Can't tell any difference

Can't tell any difference and I have been using it for several months now. Going through a fair amount of jaw pain and aggravation. Don't know how long I can persist with it. The top splint is also squeezing my teeth inwards, which is uncomfortable.

Ended up with awful TMJ, ear pain and destroyed my bite

The somnomed oral appliance stopped my snoring and reduced my sleep apnoea BUT I now have terrible temporomandibular joint dysfunction, incredible referred ear pain, neck pain and it has destroyed my bite, due to the pain I now sleep worse than I ever did before.

My snoring has mostly stopped

My snoring has mostly stopped, it seems to happen a little bit when I have nasal inflammation from hayfever.
I breath more through my mouth then and wake up with a very dry mouth which is hard to sip water due to the mouth guard.

Douleurs aux dents du bas.J'ai tenté le dispositif depuis juillet…

J'ai tenté le dispositif depuis juillet dernier. C'est au moins la 4e ou 5e fois que je retourne chez mon dentiste pour des douleurs aux dents qui m'empêchaient au début de la garder toute la nuit et maintenant je n'y parviens plus car les douleurs s'accroissent malgré les réajustements du dentiste. Donc très déçue.

The device seems to be working

The device seems to be working. If you cannot tolerate a cpap machine then I recommend using this device if you have no other options. I have noticed several side effects; The bottom plate keeps slipping out of place every time, you laugh, sneeze, cough, yawn and it's very annoying. It also causes mouth ulcers, dry mouth, leaves a plastic taste in mouth and it feels like plastic is breaking down and being absorbed by the body and hope in future they use non toxic more durable plastics that doesn't break down into the body. If these issues are addressed I would give it 5 stars.

However, some patients are particularly sensitive to the acrylic monomer used in SomnoMed devices and may experience dry mouth, irritation or a plastic taste when first using the device, as noted in the instructions for use provided with the product. If you continue to experience discomfort when using the device, we recommend that you discontinue use and contact your treating dentist for guidance.

Best thing I’ve done for my health

I am extremely happy with my SomnoMed device and the service I received. From day one of using the device it worked, my snoring stopped. By the end of the week my husband was back in the big bed. I am using a number 4 strap and my cardiologist is happy that I don’t have sleep apnea anymore. I had to take the device back for readjustment and the quick and friendly service I received was fantastic. It took less than a week to get used to it and I still get extra saliva build up during the night but that’s nothing compared to the good night’s sleep I’m now getting. It’s the best investment I have made for my health and I would recommend it for anyone.
