SpotOn GPS Fence gives dogs the freedom to roam and owners the confidence that comes with truly reliable containment. Designed, engineered, and supported in the USA, SpotOn is the original GPS-powered virtual dog fence and continues to set the standard for accuracy, reliability, and performance. At the core of SpotOn is patented True Location⢠GPS technology, which corrects for common GPS issues like drift and signal interference. With the launch of the new Nova Edition, that technology takes a major leap forwardâleveraging best-in-class hardware, industry-leading accuracy, and all-new smart features to deliver even more consistent containment in real-world conditions, based on over 5 million hours of real-world dog movement data. Using the SpotOn app, you can create custom fences in minutesâno wires, no digging, no maintenance, and no subscription. Set boundaries as small as 1/3-acre or as vast as you need, even in remote areas with heavy tree cover. As your dog approaches a boundary, the collar delivers clear, fair alerts through tones and vibration that trigger precisely when they should. You can also track your dogâs location in real time, right from your phone. Backed by real human support, SpotOn is built for people who want dependable technology, thoughtful training support, and freedom that works in the real world.

difficult to connect to the collarsâŠ
difficult to connect to the collars even in the same room. app and setup are not the easiest to navigate.
there should be a bluetooth oppition to connect to collars when there is little to no cell service. and if there is already then the setup and use of are not clearly spelled out

I feel the product is well made BUT
I feel the product is well made but it should be for the price they charge. The whole marketing approach is a little deceptive. They hit you hard with Social Media come-ons but neglect to mention a SERIOUS downside to GPS-based dog collar systems and that is that they can't be used in or NEAR metal buildings. Not only will a metal building or roof potentially shock the dog, but you can't do an exclusion or "Home Zone" because the signal isn't reliable. Rural users and Farmers on large properties almost always have metal roofs or sheds. RV covers, etc., etc.. Sometimes they are within a 100 feet of a fence line. I don't want my dog shocked and confused.
Also, I got 3 collars, and it took a fairly long time to get my refund. I had to pay for the return shipping. Most of all, I don't feel they made a good faith effort to warn people about the huge problem with the GPS approach. Everything is done digitally, when sent a support email, I was told that responses were slow (which they were) because "we are a small family run business." But it doesn't feel like a small family run business, because in my experience that kind of business would answer the phone or at least get back to a customer who had spent 3K on their product.

Does not stay connected for tracking. Does no good if your dog is out of bounds and you can't track it

Love the collar
Love the collar. My property makes it a little difficult to have keep out zones, as I have two large ponds, so I removed them. But my dog roams my 6.5 acres freely. Had some growing pains on my end and my dogâs but itâs great now. I love seeing him have freedom, and to have zero worry he will leave the boundary. It beeps, and he runs back. I did have to use the long prongs to get him to feel it good enough to deter, but it works great.
The one thing Iâd say that keeps me from 5*, is if I spent the amount to get the first collar, a second one should have a pretty good discount; and I mean like at least half. Just so you know, I have friends that would love for their dog to hang out at my house, and Iâm not spending another $1k. Youâre missing out on potential sales by someone like me not having another collar for people to try for their dog.

Didnât work for my dogs
The gps collar does not work for my dog. With training, he still runs off. The collar is at the highest setting and shaved his neck. Also I put it in the mode thatâs supposed to save battery but still track if he leaves the area and he was missing for 17 hours because it did not track him. It works ok for one of my dogs but 3 of the 4 Iâve tried it with, it doesnât work for them. Iâm in the desert. No tall trees or any reason to lose gps signal.

Very poor cell cell function rendering device basically useless
This item is marketed as designed for rural settings. I live 5 miles away from a city with 2 bars of 5G reception at best. The LTE-M feature of the collar is very poor and sometimes takes over a half hour to connect and accept commands, like Track, which is the primary reason I purchased the collar. I have spent $990 for a device that is virtually useless and an additional $10 a month for a subscription to a cell service that is barely functional. If I could return it I would.

Takes some trial and error to do initial setup
Initially, itâs kind of confusing to get it set up correctly, especially because thereâs drift involved. But when I finally got it set up correctly after quite a few tries itâs working very well and I just use the sound for a correction. My dog loves being out in the woods chasing chipmunks now, I donât have to worry about him. Very helpful if you call spot on for assistance

There are pros and cons
The good: I love the flexibility for our dogs to roam our 10+ acre property. Most of the time it works as intended.
The bad: The barn (metal) and sometimes the house (log) create interference with the signal occasionally. Even having them marked as being in a safe zone does not always prevent my dogs from getting corrected. Also the drift of the signal can be as much as 20-30â. Itâs usually a quick 30 second to 1 min drift time but itâs confusing for the dogs when theyâre standing in a spot theyâre used to being in and suddenly have to move.

Not consistent with the trackers andâŠ
Not consistent with the trackers and the fence, signal isnt strong most of the time, and Zoey breaks the fence and I feel it isnt reliable, the signal says its "good" I have tried trouble shooting and walking the collar to the fence lines and it will alarm but not when she has her collar on consistently

SpotOn Fence ããã®åç
Bought this hoping to be able to put itâŠ
Bought this hoping to be able to put it on my dog when she goes outside. Unfortunately it takes too much time to react with the GPS signals in my area.
The boundary changes constantly by 15-20 feet and even with the house as a safe zone it sends a false signal and beeps causing me to remove from my dog.

Containment/setup
Fence works great. Training required for dog and user. The fence lines will âdriftâ because of the GPS - I have a lot of mature trees that have some big roots so burying a wire was not practical.
There was a user âlearning curveâ on how the fence worked

Great product!
My dogs were easy to train to use the fence and understand the boundaries well. It has really been our savior as we move to a large property and haven't decided if or when we want a physical fence (more to keep other animals out). Now we feel comfortable taking our time to decide.

Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service. My wild pup now stays out of trouble. The collar and boundaries were easy to set up. I know I should have spent more time training, but Stella figured it out in less than 10 minutes. I wish I would have tried this sooner. I highly recommend SpotOn.

Game changer to keep the dogs home
Being able to see our dogs from the house on our 10 acres thats partially fenced with trees has been so awesome! Sometimes it takes a little bit to pick up the signal when they are in the trees and it is delayed on their location but for the most part has been a game changer for us.

We LOVE SpotON!!
I was not sure we could have our 15 mo old Brittany off leash in our yard. He is very prey driven and we live next to a state park with lots of deer. I followed the training program exactly and gave us even more time at each stage. The scary part was using distraction. We did have him break through and reset correction. It seemed SpotOn also had a good handle of where we were. I appreciated the comments and relooking at the training plan. The time to train and watch and get comfortable worked. I'm SOOOOO happy with it. Cooper stays in his yard and is able to run free off of a leash. Of all the collars he hates, he knows this one gives him freedom. With it on, I no longer have to worry about him escaping out the door. We have had NO breakouts, but I do still keep a close eye on him. We live on a lake; he also gets to enjoy going in the water with the collar which is also a big plus. Thank you, worth every cent! Ellen
