If you want to learn traditional horary astrology, signing up for the STA Horary Practitioners Level Course is one of the best decisions you can make. Let me tell you why.

Three years ago I finally decided I wanted to learn traditional astrology. The subject has fascinated me for over twenty years, but each time I opened a book, I felt intimidated by the sheer amount of material to absorb. This time however, I decided to take the plunge.

In the months and years that followed, I bought more books than I'll be able to read in a lifetime. The result: I was competely overwhelmed and more than once I threw those precious books in a corner. What´s even worse: I developed a fear of sitting down and actually reading a chart. I don´t want to be an "armchair astrologer" but where do I start? When and how do I apply concept X or technique Y? The STA course helped me tackle these problems.

Both the study materials and the online classes are very well structured and of high quality. You'll learn all the key concepts that lay at the basis of horary astrology and traditional astrology in general. What is even more important, you´ll learn to apply those concepts as tools to delineate a chart with detail and objectivity.

Parallel to gradually familiarizing yourself with the theory behind the art, the course is designed to make you learn by practising. The exercises start at a comfortable level and with each session you´ll find yourself climbing higher up the carefully designed scaffolding. This is done through a well thought out structure of 1) example charts with delineations by the tutors: learning by example and 2) delineating charts yourself, adding newly learned concepts and techniques as you go: learning by trial and error. Constructive feedback by the tutors helps you retrace your steps and correct mistakes you might have made.

The flame of my initial enthusiasm has been rekindled and I´ve gained enough confidence to put everything I learned into practice. The course has ended, but my journey has only just begun. I´m looking forward to revisiting the course materials and doing chart work for people who are in need of advice. I´ll probably stumble in the beginning, but with all that I´ve learned at the STA, I`m confident I´ll stand up again and reach the goal I've set for myself.

Hubo un tiempo en el que el iPhone era el cielo, con sus luminarias y planetas que se desplazaban sobre la banda zodiacal alrededor de la gran boveda celeste. Fue en ese tiempo en que personas como Claudio Ptolomeo hablaban de permanencia y cambio en el comportamiento de la materia, y fue él, quien estableció una solución brillante para la aparente retrogradación de los planetas usando el concepto de epiciclos y deferentes. Tanto él como sus contemporáneos construían conocimiento a través de la observación directa y la experimentación, todos ingredientes que se fueron sistematizando y se organizaron en el llamado método científico renacentista. Hasta ese momento, eran versados en matemática, astronomía, medicina, filosofía, astrología y más. No había distinción, y la relación que establecían entre el arriba y el abajo, el adentro y el afuera, era algo cotidiano. De esas observaciones surgieron las primeras cartas natales. Mirar hacia el cielo, establecer cálculos y dibujar un mapa natal, era algo corriente. De hecho, lo hacían para que el cielo responda preguntas existenciales, y también de la vida cotidiana. Algo así como un oráculo estelar.
Con el avance de la tecnología, pasamos de mirar el cielo a mirar una pantalla, en la que cargamos algunos datos y, con un algoritmo preciso que involucra tablas de efemérides, casas y fórmulas, a un enter de distancia nos brinda el posicionamiento de los astros en el cielo. No dudo que Porfirio, Campanus, Müller y tantos otros predecesores de la ciencia moderna, constructores de esas tablas y fórmulas, estarían dichosos de poder usar nuestros actuales software astrológicos, de hecho los hubieran programado. Pero, ellos lo harían desde el conocimiento empírico de sus registros y observaciones, sabiendo qué es lo que hace la matriz binaria por nosotres. Les astrologues contemporáneos poco a poco fuimos simplificando la técnica tradicional de la disciplina.
En tiempos de una IA que parece dar respuetas a todos nuestros requerimientos, espero que la curiosidad me siga brindando la grata oportunidad de aprender y profundizar de la mano de la STA y de sus excelentes profesores, para entender, en este caso particular del curso de Astronomía para astrólogos, qué es lo que hay que hacer para levantar una carta natal sin pantallas de por medio, haciendo cálculos y ubicando las coordenadas precisas para encontrar la posición de los planetas, mirando al cielo y comprender el por qué los planetas no pueden irse más allá de la banda zodiacal, o entender cuándo es que están "naciendo" o "muriendo" dentro de sus ciclos; el analema solar a lo largo del año y la importancia del tiempo sideral y otras siglas y datos que figuran en las efemérides y tablas. La astrología y la astronomía nunca fueron disonantes, el hombre de ciencia se encargó de su divorcio.
Qué el hombre no separe lo que el Universo ha unido.

I had originally taken the STA Practitioners Level Horary Astrology Course a little over a year ago, and when I saw that it was offered in person I decided to take it again and I am very happy that I did. Having already taken the course the first time provided me with first-rate knowledge and material on this wonderful technique, and having the opportunity to do it in person made me consolidate my knowledge in a very solid way, interact with my tutor and classmates and live the experience on another level. As an aspiring astrologer, STA's Horary practitioner program was more than what I expected to get when learning Horary Astrology. Not only do you learn the guidelines for casting a chart, you learn the why and history behind it. I personally found where many things used in Modern Astrology originate and where the divergence from Traditional Astrology takes place. I thoroughly enjoyed this program and highly recommend it. Do take the time to fully immerse yourself and ask questions whenever they arise as this program is non-stop from start to finish. I almost feel that the 20wk time frame wasn't enough because that's how much info you will receive during this time.

Is the program worth the price? Yes! If you feel like you don't have it in your pockets at the moment, it's definitely worth saving up for.

Can I readily use what I learn? Absolutely!

Even if you only use the information learned on yourself this is a wonderful environment to learn, grow, and connect with other astrology students and the tutors.

Mi paso por el curso STA en español ha supuesto para mi un nuevo contacto con la Astrología Horaria, que ya conocia de anteman. Con el estudio de este curso se han ido consolidando poco o poco conceptos astrológicos básicos, y no tan basicos que tenía un poco oxidados en mi mente.
Este curso dictado por María Blaquier ha sido muy extenso y concreto, muy bien explicado y con fluidez, mostrando un claro conocimiento y profundidad de este bello arte que es la Astrología Horaria. Es un curso muy recomendable para todo aquel que quiera abrirse camino en la Astrología de las cuestiones.

El curso de astrología horaria de la STA es un curso de alto nivel. La experiencia de estudiar a través de la metodología implementada por la STA y su tutora, María Blaquier, fue de las mejores experiencias de aprendizaje astrológico que he obtenido. El material muy bien estructurado, claro, explicado de manera sencilla y muy profesional. Abundan los ejemplos y la plataforma utilizada me pareció muy apropiada. For non-native English-speaking students, the reading volume might be quite large, but after completing the 20 lessons, both reading comprehension and writing expression skills could be improved. I took the "STA Practitioners Level" course and I really enjoyed every class. I found the weekly video lectures as well as the weekly tests very usefull. This gave me a lot of confidence and I learned a lot with a teaching method different to the ones I was used to.
María Blaquier is an excellent teacher. She is always ready to explain and evacuate doubts in a didactic way, with examples that help understand the new information. I not only learned a lot, but I really enjoyed each class. I highly recommend this course!

Though I had heard great things about the STA Horary Practitioners' Level course, nothing prepared me for the actual experience. The thorough course notes, the weekly video lectures and weekly assignments (or tests) enabled me to understand and apply the rules and principles so that I feel I have a good sense of the subject, and the confidence to practise horary. I was also impressed by the unfailing patience, knowledge and courtesy of the tutors - also their timeliness in responding to messages or queries and in grading written assignments. I do not now reject what we call 'modern astrology' or other modern developments. But in the matter of horary, a traditional, rigorous approach is vital in finding the right answer. To me, horary immerses us in the mechanics of astrology's magic. If you wish to deepen your understanding of astrology, I highly recommend the STA approach to study. It will require time and application and I won't deny there are tricky areas. But STA has evolved ways of anticipating certain problems and must be rated as highly sophisticated in its approaches.

I recommend studying with STA and her tutor María Blaquier. I took the "STA Practitioners Level" course and loved every week of it. The material is top-notch, the tutor is kind and patient, never fail to motivate their students. The tutor knowledge of "Horary Astrology" is second to none.
If you are looking for Horary Astrology courses that challenge you, even if you are already knowledgeable, I recommend so much you are studying with María Blaquier in STA institut. I am glad, I took this course and will definitely will be back for other STA courses in the near future. Thanks to María Blaquier for this fantastic course in STA.
