Nice relaxed atmosphere on the ship. Friendly staff. Really enjoyed the upper deck where you may sit or walk in the open air. There even were artificial palms trees :) Liked the signs everywhere " No smoking".
I would recommend to do announcements a bit earlier about when is the right time to leave the rooms. In our case they announced that in very short time we must leave the rooms. All people left in a hurry and then we were standing in deck 5 and waited for half an hour to go down to our cars. Very long wait.

Great Experience!
It was a pleasure to cross the Irish Sea aboard the Stena Embla! This beautiful new ship has the feel of a cruise ship. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. The whole experience was relaxing and fun with some beautiful views along the way. Iâll definitely book this again.

I've traveled from this port lots ofâŠ
I've traveled from this port lots of times and not only with stena. I was assured at 12pm the day of travelling that parking at the terminal would be fine and I done this by phoning. The boat wasn't to depart until 10:45pm. I asked would getting there between 9-9:30pm be okay and was assured that was no problem. Around 7:00pm stena sent an email stating there was limited parking a you need to get there early contradicting what they had told me previously. I left by 7:30pm and got there shortly after and parked in an almost empty brand new car park very close to the main entrance. I was going as a foot passenger with my 11 year old daughter. When I went to book in over three hours before sailing I was told I couldn't park in the new parking as it wasn't officially open and that I had to park at the terminal that provides the ferry to Scotland which was a twenty minutes walk away. I had no other option and would have either had someone drop me off or a taxi if this was told to me when I first rang at 12pm. Not only did I have to park a good distance away from the ferry I was getting they forgot to tell me there was a shuttle bus to take you back and I only managed to avail of it by asking the driver did he go the way I was going. I actually wouldn't be writing this other than on the return stena don't provide a shuttle back out to the car park and there is no safe way to walk to it as there is no pedestrian entrance. Me and my daughter had to navigate the dangerous road to get back to the parked car. All this could have been avoided if I was told when I rang in the first place, it would have saved hours of time and hassle. One other thing is that we had a cabin for the journey and the return in room 844, this is not a great room when the car alarms activate several times during the night. So with all that said the sailing was good and the staff onboard are all amazing but I think more information on parking and shuttle service would be massively beneficial for foot passengers. I won't be going as a foot passenger again and will take the car as it saves you around 3-5 hours waiting around. Also the restaurant closing times were different on the way back than on the way over by around an hour.

We were very annoyed that we were told to leave our cabins over an hour and half before we docked - we had paid for our cabins and being rudely interrupted by the cleaning staff so early before arrival was totally unacceptable - please do better next time Stena

Enjoyable Trip
Booking was straightforward, as was making changes before travel. The staff on board were very friendly and helpful, especially at the restaurant. Cabins are clean and a good size, and if you book Comfort Class you'll have the possibility to make coffee and tea, and a fridge filled with complimentary drinks. My only complaint is the length of time disembarkation took on the return journey. We were waiting with our vehicles for almost one hour before moving, and then passport control took another hour. This only happened on the trip back to the Netherlands, and it would have helped to explain to passengers what was causing the lengthy delay. Apart from that, I would recommend the Stena Line route between Hook of Holland and Harwich.

Very smooth ride on the ferry to Harwich. the employees are really nice and cooperating to get on board. the cabin was ok, not stunning but that was also not the expatation. Food and drink are also good and at our trip there where no big waiting lines and enough space to sit down and relax.
