The service on board is excellent. Information is provided in Swedish, English and German on the Göteborg to Kiel line and in Dutch and English on the Hoek to Harwich line. The food choices are particularly good on the Swedish-German trip. I always sleep very well!

Cabine ok, breakfast crap
Room was good even though the boat felt very old. But we are completely dissatisfied with the breakfast. Last time we were on Stena Scandinavica. There we had ways more choice especially also a lot of fish. But here on Stena Germanica choice was limited and stuff was not fresh. E.g. Baked potatoes were clearly from the day before, probably from the evening buffet then! There was only one coffee machine with milk, which turned out as bottle neck. There was always a big queue, while the only coffee machines were always free.
I would travel again on Stena Germanica but not book the breakfast buffet again.

Shop could sell wider range of things eg things you might want on a long journey or travel sickness tablets.
It was rather annoying to be loaded onto the bus (foot passengers) to wait half an hour before travelling to the bus!

Poor queue management at Harwich
Poor queue management for check-in at Harwich meant 4 lines must filter into 1, but were not aware of this. Obviously this causes frustration, which after an early start and long drive, doesnât make the experience more pleasant.
