Same as everyone else!
Website leads you believing you’re buying a hardback when you’re actually buying a digital copy. Communication repetitive and unsympathetic. I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole

Total scam. Like other reviewers, i ordered a hardback and was told that I had ordered a down load.I knew that I hadn't and I did a chargeback with my bank who refunded my money straight away.
This company should be closed down.

No stars was not an option
Ordered a hardcover book and after payment made was informed it was an ebook.
Sent a screenshot of the advert clearly showing hardback and requested refund but they keep saying it’s an ebook.
Asked for complaints procedure and not received a response.
Now going to RetailADR

Ordered a book paperback as soon as payment went through the invoice change to download not the book i ordered . Wish i had read reviews before ordering sounds like a scam company . They not replying to any of my emails if i had wanted a downloaded book i would have gone through my kindle . Stay well clear of this company wish i had

I ordered a hardback book some time ago and have received nothing! No email confirmation, no delivery details and certainly no book! Needless to say, the payment has gone from my bank account. No reply from Storybay in response to my message.
Avoid this site at all costs!

StoryBay are selling books, but only providing digital downloads, despite buyers requesting hardcopies. When contacted they refuse to help. Many people appear to have lost money, ourselves included. They lure in their victims with cheap offers and then don't deliver. Such a short sighted approach to business.

If I could have given a 0 rating, I would. My experience is the same as everyone below. I ordered a hard copy of Land by Maggie O Farrell at the weekend only to be presented with a digital download which I did not order. I don’t read e books. There is no “review your order” page when you click through. You fill in your details for the free shipping and then you go straight through to payment. There is no mention of digital download until you get your order confirmation. I pointed out their error straight away but have been met with auto generated bot type responses which basically put the blame back on me and refuse to help. This site is a scam. Avoid at all costs.

I have also been conned by this company. Definitely ordered a hardback and provided my delivery address.
Had an uneasy feeling afterwards and double checked and saw that the order confirmation provided a digital download. I contacted them immediately and they refused a refund. Absolutely a scam but I feel reassured knowing that I’m not alone.

How can this company be banned?

This company are a scam. Like others on here I ordered a book, they send an invoice for e book. Then say they won't refund as it's an electronic download.
Avoid like the plague.

A hard copy was ordered but only a download PDF was received. The company tried to blame me for making a mistake when ordering but I definitely did not. They refused to refund.

UPDATE*** I got a refund via my bank, and I've reported them to trading standards. The more people that report them, the higher chance that action will be taken.

Same experience as so many others here. I definitely did **not** order the e-book.

When I chased my delivery, I received an email at two minutes to midnight on a Sunday "reminding" me that I'd ordered the e-book instead.

I've replied twice since then asking for this to be resolved, but I've had no response.

As they say..if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is! AVOID

I came to these reviews too late! Ordered three hardback copies and received one download. Clearly a scam.

I have not received the book I ordered.
none of their phone numbers work
Payment for the book was taken by onekajusales, not story book
I have contacted my bank and they will charge back 15 days for my original order which was on29 June

Wish I’d read reviews here first as exactly same happened, great value on paperback I wanted so ordered then on confirmation noticed I got sent a digital version. After contacting them to state their mistake they stated they don’t refund digital purchases. AVOID!

Ordered a hardback. Received nothing. No response to emails. I wasn't even told I had ordered a download! Just goes to show if it looks to good to be true it always is. I knew it was a really low price. AVOID at all costs.

Do not engage with this company. They trick you into ordering a hardback, then tell you that you've ordered an eBook. Which I absolutely did not.
Should have checked first.

I totally agree with previous comments, Storybay's website should be taken down as they are a big con.
I also ordered an actual book but received one to download. Trying to contact them is impossible, no-one answering the phone and no replies to multiple emails so no refund. Two addresses are shown, Haywards Heath and Liverpool, neither appear to exist, how are they getting away with it??!

This company is a scam/fraud. Only replied to my messages with an answer that I ordered an ebook. Which is not true.
I paid for a paperback book and never received it. Never got my money back either. When phoning them I can not talk to anyone on the other end.
Please avoid this company! They are lying to their customers and giving out wrong information.

I have had an awful experience with this company. I ordered a hardback version of Elizabeth Strout’s new novel for a friend’s birthday. It didn’t arrive so I chased it. The company says I ordered the ebook version despite the fact that the hardback version is the default setting on the website - I would have had to actually select ‘ebook’, which I wouldn’t have done. I have no proof of that, however as I never received a confirmation email. (If I did order the ebook, it would have been a genuine mistake that should be accepted as such.) They are refusing to refund me even though I have not received a link nor downloaded the book. I have no use for it. I have never known a company pushback like they have for such a reasonable request for a refund.
