Mr Somers was a rock for me! Not a straightforward surgery for me but he was there whenever needed. George my dietitian has been fantastic too always on hand with useful tips and advise.
Surgery has changed my life.

I took the decision to go with Streamline Surgical as I knew they would take care of me and give me the best possible outcome. One year on my life has totally changed. I have probably added 20 years to my original life span. I feel fabulous and according to my husband I look fabulous. At 53 things were looking bleak but I took the plunge and spoke to the wonderful Mr Somers who was brilliant and very empathetic who advised me to go for a MGB. It was the best decision ever. Streamline looked after me from the start even through the pandemic. What a wonderful team! Highly recommended!

Great experience with Streamline. I had considered going abroad for my surgery due to the cost but as I work in a GP practice I have first hand experience of the lack of after care for those patients that did chose to go abroad, you are expected to see your own GP who will not have the expertise in post bariatric care and the NHS does not have the capacity to deal with this so you are pretty much on your own.
I was lucky enough to have Mr Shaw Somers who is such a kind, understanding & experienced man - the best in the business. I had done a lot of research prior to making my decision to have a gastric bypass and was concerned about some of the issues that patients had reported post surgery, however I was fortunate enough to have no problems with the operation or weight loss. I am 14 months post op & have lost an incredible 8 stone. The after care with Streamline is amazing and I believe without such following up then my weight loss wouldn’t have been so successful - the aftercare I am receiving from Streamline is invaluable and most definitely worth the additional money. Best decision I ever made

Words cannot describe how amazing Streamline are, my experience from the beginning has been extremely positive. Streamline take the time and care to help you work out what treatment is right for you, they make sure that you are well informed and discuss the options with you in detail and make sure that you are absolutely certain and happy with the way forward before proceeding. This is very important because you don’t jump in being uninformed. I was lucky enough to have Dr Shaw Somers operate one me and he really is one of the friendliest and caring doctors, I also feel confident knowing that he is the best in the business and that assurance is key when you are recovering. I am currently 7 weeks post op and the after care I’ve received has been amazing, especially in the first few days after the surgery, the team are there to help you in you have any worries, answer any questions and generally provide you with reassurances if you are worried. I’m so happy I went with streamline instead of going abroad as support post op, especially dietary is key. I’m happy to now be moving into the next chapter of my life.

I had a gastric bypass through Shaw Somers and streamline in March 2021. From the initial consultation I knew I was in good hands. Shaw was very honest with me throughout the process and answered the 100's of questions I had.

Despite having the operation during Covid, the process with faultless and the aftercare has been nothing short of amazing, from the reviews with Shaw to the dietician appointments. I was particularly impressed that Shaw called my partner as soon as the operation had been completed to let her know I was fine.

I am now 12 months post op, have lost close to 10 stone, sit in a healthy BMI and feel like I have my life back.

I cannot recommend Shaw Somers and the Streamline team enough, from start to finish they have been fantastic! I had my surgery in the midst of the pandemic, for reasons that were entirely out of Streamline’s control during the winter lockdown of 2021 my initial surgery was cancelled, however Streamline did everything to ensure I was booked in and within three weeks of the cancellation, I had my procedure, completed by Shaw Somers . During the period the communication and dedication to ensuring I had my procedure booked was superb, they really do care!

I cannot stress this enough, this surgery has entirely changed my life, and this would not have been possible without Shaw Somers and his team. Shaw is professional, supportive and empathetic to the highest level and his team over the last year have provided superb aftercare, they are always on hand to answer any questions or concern and provide support and guidance through every stage of the journey.

Overall it has been a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend Shaw Somers and Streamline for any future patients.

My gastric band surgery was very straight forward and uncomplicated. . Due to Covid, my consulations were online, but I felt well informed and felt I was able to make my decision without being influenced, but had the option of talking to other post surgery patients if I felt I wanted too. Follow up was there if I needed it and monthly check ups have been useful with having fills and asking any queries I had . . A very postive experience for me.

Having considered bariatric surgery for a couple of years, Mr Somers was fantastic from the start, answering all my questions at the initial consultation, making me feel at ease and confident about my decision. Having the gastric sleeve (in October 2020) did change my life, and I have since been a happier healthier person. Mr Somers is the absolute best in this field, not just clinically but also making the patients feel at ease and confident about the procedure and what to expect afterwards, short term and long term. He is also very caring, taking his time with all his patients explaining everything and listening to them, which is very important when you're going through such a life-changing time. I have already recommended Mr Somers to others, and I will forever be grsateful to him for helping me change my life. A million thanks.

AMAZING FROM START TO FINISH!

I had a mini gastric bypass with Streamline this November from initial appointment to surgery date was about 4 weeks in total.

Their team was personal and professional from the first call and their was no pressure and lots of information on the different options available to me and they didn't mind if I phoned more then once to ask pretty much the same question.
The Surgeon Dr Ali phoned me and really went over everything and sent me lots of information to read as well as go point by point on the surgery and the requirements. I requested a 2nd call by him and the team was all to happy to help. Before I even decided on my treatment the surgeon advised I spoke to a therapist to make sure I was ready and after a zoom call to their therapist I knew it was my Time to take control of my body.
After giving the deposit they arranged for a dietitian to go over everything step by step and my consultant was in touch to say I will take care of everything you may need in-between and after surgery. The nurse called me to also go through any questions and then it was time to pay the final balance and they where supportive on a late payment and called out of hours to keep me updated with any issues.
Surgery was at the London Clinic Hospital and again the service was effortless and professional. The nurses where brilliant and patient with me the whole time and when I needed anything , nothing was too much with a friendly attitude all the way .
I have been home a couple of days and already the dietitian has already been in touch over the phone, the nurse has phoned to check up on me and I have had emails from the team all extending their support.

Some people have said to me that I should have gone to Turky as its cheaper but I promise you when you get out of surgery and your in pain or scared your gonna want to have someone who speaks English fluently, and your family within reach I personally would have freaked out being so far from home and it was worth the extra penny

The steam line team looked after me from start to finish. Everyone from the office staff, consultant Shaw Somer, dietician and all the ward staff were first class. I have no regrets. I have my life back!

I’ve just finished my 2 year package with Streamline for a gastric bypass under the care of Mr Somers and his team. I wanted to write this review so other potential patients thinking about having this operation will read this review and to let them know what an amazing team the Streamline team are with the support and care that everyone gives you throughout your journey - they are all amazing and nothing is too much for them regarding the support that they give you on your journey to a healthier, happier ,fitter life. I cannot thank Mr Somers and Heidi( my dietician) enough for everything. All I can say is if you are reading this review and thinking of weight loss surgery contact Streamline and you will be in very good hands.

This is a composite of complaints STARTING NOV 2020* that Streamline tried to silence 3 times by flagging. I'm a 56yo woman with Bipolar I. DON'T BE MISLED BY THE 5-STAR REVIEWS; THEY ARE HARMFUL TO THOSE WITH SMI

THEY ALSO CANCELLED MY ONLINE CONSULT WHEN THEY LEARNED I WAS BIPOLAR.

I first contacted Streamline in 2018. As an SMI patient, I was drawn by Mr Somers' famed compassion and kindness. I naively assumed that because he'd spoken kindly of so many other marginalised and stigmatized groups, he'd be equally supportive of the mentally ill, so it's been a horrible experience to discover that Streamline are just as clueless and callous with SMI patients as other clinicians.

They do not understand that for MH/neurological reasons, some can't use email/phone/etc. like average people. Medical email makes me paranoid, but they didn't understand and ignored my request for Skype, so I became ill with paranoia, panic attacks and finally delusional. It was so awful. I wouldn't want ANYONE to go through what I went through. It is constantly in my mind and whatever I try, I can't forget it. They have permanently traumatized me.

They may understand depression, but their zero knowledge of SMIs makes communication brutal if your illness features psychosis; they'll misunderstand and treat you like a criminal instead of someone who is sick. THEY'LL MAKE YOU FEEL ASHAMED TO BE ILL. If you panic or have an anxiety meltdown, they'll label it "aggression" and break off contact JUST WHEN YOU NEED THEM MOST, then BLOCK you. That's what they did with me. If I weren't as mentally strong as I am, their behaviour could easily have resulted in my self harm or worse.

I wrote to "kind" Mr Somers, BEGGING him to help me. He didn't even bother to reply - that's how KIND that man REALLY is! BEHIND THAT SMILE, HE'S AS HARD AS NAILS!

Then I read Mr Somers' interview in the Marylebone Journal, and was sickened by what he said: when asked if there are unsuitable people for bariatric surgery, he singles out those with "uncontrolled psychiatric illness", as they "find it difficult to comply". There are plenty of people who aren't mentally ill who also find it difficult to comply, so him singling out the mentally ill is as illogical as it is disgusting. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF REINFORCING STIGMA OF MH PATIENTS, MR SOMERS! I EXPECTED SO MUCH BETTER OF YOU!

Nov. 2021, I sent a complaint to Mr Slater who passed it on to the general manager. She didn't even ask what my complaint was: just guessed what it might be from my file and mailed an irrelevant apology. We corresponded for 2 weeks, my aim being to try to aid access for others with SMI, but she lacked interest. Then I caught her gaslighting me about 2 patients I was (unbeknown to her) in direct contact with. Her nice side vanished, and I got a cold thanks-and-goodbye letter.

I contacted one of Streamline's psychologists. She was very nice and supportive at first and (I thought) very understanding. She said she would speak to Streamline about MH awareness, but did say that she couldn’t guarantee anything because, as she was independent, she didn’t have any power to enforce change. I told her about how Streamline's lack of MH knowledge blocked access to their care. I should've worried when she said that I'd given her a lot to think about, as that indicates now that the POV of the mentally unwell was new to her too. Suddenly, she said she lacked time to engage then actually BLOCKED me on Twitter - not only TOTALLY uncalled for, but yet more trauma for me. Yet another vile HCP.

I put more reviews on Trustpilot to warn others. Stressful emails said my reviews had been removed after flagging by Streamline “for containing advertising” - A TOTAL LIE! The deleted reviews are now on Twitter to prove that.

*Even worse, I started to get MH HATE POSTS from an anon Twitter troll account set up in SEP 2020, WHEN THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO KNEW OF MY STREAMLINE ISSUES WERE THE CLINIC STAFF. The troll told me I was a stereotypical mad lunatic, etc., who deserved my treatment, as *I* was the problem!

AND GAVIN QUINTON, NO WONDER you haven't had the balls to contact me about that bait-and-switch sales webinar with Mr Somers - I checked the webinar chat box last night - YOU WERE THE CO-HOST THAT ORGANISED IT! THE CHARLATAN I WAS TALKING TO WAS *YOU*!!! You totally took me in with your silver-tongued sales talk! PRINCE OF LIES!

In their recent media make-overs, Streamline have done a great job of selling themselves as kind and caring, making it even more likely they'll attract (AND DESTROY) vulnerable MH patients. If I came across them now for the first time, I'd definitely be fooled into trusting them. I MUST WARN OTHERS - PLEASE BEWARE!!!

I am so Happy that I decide to go with Streamline Surgical for my Gastric Bypass Surgery and Revision of a previous Gastric procedure.
I feel that the care given to me whilst in Hospital and the aftercare have been excellent and I find the advice given post surgery has been invaluable
My procedure was carried out 13 months ago by Mr Shaw Somers who I found to be empathetic and very professional. I have lost 54lbs to date and feel a lot better with my appearance & well-being and would recommend anyone considering weight loss surgery to book a Consultation with Streamline.

In July 2020 I was fortunate enough to have a gastric bypass by Shaw Somers through Streamline Surgical.

I wanted the best and from researching UK companies I knew that Streamline offered the best surgeons in the country if not the world. I had friends and relatives who had been for gastric surgery abroad that had not been as successful as hoped. Many had put some weight back on or not lost as much as they wanted, and were considering further surgery. I had a friend who had recommended Streamline to me form her experience with them and her results had been amazing. My parents had very kindly offered to help me finance the operation. I knew I had only one chance to get it right and so choosing the right surgeon and team was so important, there was no way I would get a second chance at this.

The whole experience with Streamline from my first enquiry has been excellent, professional and sincere. These people genuinely care. The biggest thing for me, was the embarrassment of admitting I needed help, admitting I was unable to do it myself. These guys make you feel so comfortable, there is absolutely no judgement. They know it’s not your fault, they treat it as it is, an illness. The initial consultation with my surgeon happened very quickly and they help you decide the best procedure for you and explain things very clearly.

I was extremely nervous when it came to the surgery, I had 2 young children and at over 26 stone I was convinced I wasn’t going to wake up, but they constantly reassured me and put me at ease, nothing was too much problem. The recovery was quick and it was hard to take it easy as I recovered. The food stages were a little boring at times but they don’t last long and I was not at all hungry, it made me to break the habit of reaching for food through boredom without even realising. It didn’t take long before I was able to enjoy food again but in a controlled manner.

The weight fell off over the next few months and life got much easier by the day. The Streamline team were always in touch, offering advice and suggestions for diet, encouraging me with ways and suggestions to keep my protein intake up, but most importantly never judging me. I could be honest and open about what I was struggling with and they help not criticise which is so important.

I am now 14 months out. I have stopped losing now and I’m maintaining. I lost 14 stone and I am currently 12 stone 3. There is absolutely no regrets. I can eat out, enjoys the food I used to but without eating for 4!

Before I had the surgery I made a list of all the things I couldn’t do as I knew I would forget as time went on and life got easier. Reading this list makes me realise how desperate I was but how absolutely life changing this has been for me.

I now love my life, I love who I am, I have my confidence back which was always such a big part of my personality before things got out of hand. I walk everywhere with a spring in my step. I feel great and I am now the mum I always wanted to be. I am proud of who I am. I am lucky and fortunate to have been given this opportunity and I am truly grateful to all the staff at Streamline Surgical.

I can honestly say I would whole heartedly recommend Streamline Surgical.
I am 7 days post op after having a gastric bypass, operated on by Mr Guy Slater. Best decision I have ever made as I am 64 years old now and have a lot of weight related illnesses.
The whole Streamline Team are very efficient and know exactly how you feel.
I was contacted by email, telephone and Zoom by The Team at Streamline, the Anaesthetist and Guy. If you had any questions you would always get a quick answer.
I had full confidence in Guy, and wasn’t nervous like I thought I would be. It was hard not having anyone able to come into the hospital with me because of Covid, but I was well looked after. I spent the first night in ICU as a precaution, and the second night in my own room.
I haven’t had to take any painkillers since my 2nd day post-op, and put this down to a brilliant surgeon.
I haven’t felt this positive in so many years, and feel I’ve been given a 2nd chance. Thank you Guy!

I am currently 8 days post op, have lost 9lbs already, my surgeon Dr Jambulingham was very helpful as were all of the staff at streamline. My overnight stay in the Clementine Hospital was very comfortable and the staff there were great. Thank you streamline :)

Dr Somers is simply amazing! His professionalism and track record meant I felt completely at ease with doing the op. 5 months later and I have now lost 85% of my excess body weight. It was 100% the right thing for me to do and his whole team were incredibly supportive and knowledgeable throughout. It is simply life changing and I can not recommend Dr Somers highly enough.

From start to finish Streamline was excellent!! When I first made the enquiry I initially spoke to Gary who sent me really informative information about the surgery process etc, and then I was contacted by Aisha who was so helpful and reassuring as I was debating between 2 procedures. Aisha then booked my consultation with Guy Slater, who was really understanding and great to talk to. I then decided to go for the Gastric Sleeve (revisional).

When it came to paying the deposit, I had hit a delay with finances but honestly, Leigh really supported me and reassured me that once finances were sorted I could proceed. I had to change the surgery date, which meant I would have my surgery with Shaw Sommers instead of Guy Slater, which was fine by me!. The care and understanding was second to none during this process.

Finally, finance sorted and I was on the journey to my procedure and a better healthier life. Within no time, I received appointments from all who would be part of my care, Streamline does not mess about lol. There were a few things I wasn't sure about with the LRD but getting answers was very quick, in fact, I received a call on the weekend which really helped.

Then surgery day, I was excited but a little nervous understandably. When I arrived on the ward I was greeted by a wave and smile from Shaw which calmed my nerves. Shortly after getting into my room, Shaw came to see me to discuss the procedure etc, he was so down to earth and I knew I was in safe hands. I was second on the list to go into theatre, and before I knew it it was all done. Shaw came to see me later that day to check I was ok and if there was anything I needed or wanted to ask etc.

Since my procedure I have received regular calls from the dietician team, medical team, Shaw himself as well as emails to check all is well etc.

The best decision I ever made having my procedure with Streamline and knowing that I have full aftercare support makes this journey all the better!
