The surveyor produced a very thorough and well presented RICS Level 2 report. The survey also included a drone survey which was greatly beneficial for highlighting issues with the roof of the property I enquired on. I would not hesitate to use surveying people again for any future survey!

The report was detailed with photographs to guide me through the issues, thorough, and professionally written. They gave me detailed explanations and solid advice during the call back to review the report. the entire team including the office administrators were very professional, kind and helpful. I recommend the surveyors Alam & Ross.

The level 3 survey by Ross and Syed was very thorough and detailed (including with drone photos) and we felt like it had been genuinely considered and tailored (where some other surveys we have had have felt boilerplate). Syed was able to provide further helpful insight on the phone afterwards as well. The price was also very reasonable given the quality of the report.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

A series of problems has left me very disappointed with the service I have received from Surveying People. With there being many surveyors to pick from, I would strongly recommend you pick another.

Firstly, Surveying People (SP) agreed a time slot with the estate agent/seller directly, only to the find out from their surveyor, that the time wasn't workable and consequently had to re-arrange. Annoying the estate agent and seller, whilst demonstrating a lack of internal communication within SP.

I then had issues receiving the report, once inspection had been completed.

Following the 5 working day window, that SP assured me the report would be ready by, I had the following correspondence with SP.

End of day 5, following no correspondence from SP, I phoned and left a message with someone. I never heard back.

Day 6 - I then called the next morning and having spoken directly with my case handler and been promised an update, I never heard back

Having again called in the afternoon, I was again promised an update, but again never heard back.

Day 7 - I then left an email detailing the need for the report and received a response informing me they continued to investigate. (Investigating for 2 days!!?)

That afternoon I requested an update and finally heard back that I would receive the report that day. Which I did at 8pm.

This caused friction with the seller, as we are dependent on findings to negotiate with them. The lack of professionalism provided, allowed the seller to question the validity of the findings and therefore became harder to negotiate.

Finally. Having read the report, I emailed to request the follow up phone call that was stated as provided and I have never heard back from SP.

In terms of the report, it was of good depth and covered all areas. However this is the bare minimum and there are loads of other companies where you can receive a full report but have much better communications and no delays.

I had a great experience working with Surveying People. Comms with the team was clear, and Ross was very helpful on our survey review call. The survey itself seemed comprehensive and I appreciate all the photos that were taken as I need visuals to understand things better. I would recommend them.

The team is wonderful. The report is thorough and detailed, with everything clearly explained, making it easy to understand for someone outside the construction field. Also, a specific time is provided for a phone call to review the report and ask any questions. Thank you Shaz and Ross.

I've three properties surveyed by these guys. The service from start to finish was excellent. Really easy to book the survey with Shaz help including any notes I wanted the surveyor to check in particular. On the day of the survey I also got a brief outline of the 'worst bits' about the properties. And then the call back from Syed to clarify what was included in the report was essential in making my decision.

My builders found it useful starting point for the renovation work I was planning for the two rental properties. I used the estimated costs as a guideline to work out the best quotes for the jobs too. I have been in touch with them several times since to pick their brains about certain things and they have been more than helpful.

So I am a happy repeat customer and will use them again for my next project.

I had an TERRIBLE experience with Surveying People. They conducted a Level 3 drone survey on the WRONG ROOF, assessing my neighbour’s roof instead of mine. This incorrect report was then shared with my mortgage lender, solicitor, and estate agent, causing significant delays and complications in my purchase process.

When I raised the issue, they attempted to "fix" it by revisiting the property without my consent - even though the seller was still living there - and using a drone over the property without permission. Despite requesting a refund due to their clear negligence, they refused to take responsibility, delayed responses, and ultimately dismissed my complaint by claiming the matter was "resolved."

Their handling of this situation has been unprofessional, negligent, and in clear breach of RICS standards. I have now escalated my complaint to RICS and will be pursuing further action. I strongly advise anyone looking for a reliable surveyor to avoid this company.

We decided to use Surveying People after looking at their Google reviews & we’re so glad we did! Shazmeena was so friendly & helpful and Ross Richards produced a very detailed survey report. They have very competitive pricing & also offered a free drone survey. They also offer the option of having a call with Ross after the survey to discuss anything on the report. I’d highly recommend using them

Worst service I have ever received. I thought when getting a survey key things, like leaks and infestation would be flagged, but instead all the report really called out was about the chimney. You should reconsider your career
If you have money to throw away, they are the ones to use

I would recommend you to stay away from this company. Their response to your queries were so poor and it’s always “we will come back to you” it’s impossible to communicate with Ross as he doesn’t reply your emails. Even Ross didn’t attend the scheduled call without providing any excuses and didn’t even ask to reschedule the call. Poor company, poor service..

I chose Surveying People for a Level-3 survey, and they were fantastic. I was a bit concerned at first because their Trustpilot rating is low due to only having a few 1-2 star reviews, but they assured me about their service by pointing me to their Google reviews. I'm so glad I went with them!

The report was super detailed, with lots of comments and photos that made everything clear. We had a call after they shared the report, and they walked me through all the potential issues, giving me peace of mind about the major concerns mentioned.

They’re really friendly, professional, and super helpful. Every time I reached out by phone or email, they got back to me quickly. It’s obvious they know what they’re doing, and they made the whole process easy. Definitely recommend them!

Most unprofessional and unreliable surveyor. I wish it was possible to give 0 star rating. We made full requested payment to this company and Ross sent us a RICS 3 report without repair cost. When we notified him of this, he promised to send the updated report to us but despite sending an umpteen number of chaser emails to him and his colleagues Sanae Richards and Shazmeena Aziz, there has been absolutely no response from this company. Absoluetly pathetic, disgusting and appaling behaviour to say the least. I will be complaining to RICS as I would not like anybody else to be duped like us.

There was a hiccup with our booking which meant that it needed to be rescheduled, but overall we received an excellent service. The quality of the report was really impressive and has given us a solid foundation to make informed decisions about the house that we are purchasing. Thank you to Ross and Shazmeena who were communicative throughout. Highly recommended.

The Level 3 report was well written but there did seem to be pages missing. Despite making several phone calls and emails to discuss the report and to check on the missing page, Surveying People did not get back to me. Disappointing given the fee when cheaper quotes were avaliable but I went with the more expensive, expecting a higher quality of service.

Excellent, timely support was provided by Mr. Ross Richards throughout the process. I would recommend Surveying People without reservation.

I've dealt with many surveyors in the past but Ross at Surveying People stood out from the rest. Super flexible with dates at a time when Covid was putting lots of additional pressure on property access. Very helpful advice and in-depth reporting, before and after the process. Will definitely use their service again.
