I am extremely disappointed with the lack of response from Swisscare regarding my urgent situation.
I purchased a Spanish student health insurance policy and paid for a full year of coverage. Unfortunately, my Spanish student visa process was delayed, and I was unable to travel to Spain during the initial months of my policy.
I have contacted Swisscare multiple times since 28 September 2026, requesting assistance with extending or adjusting my coverage so that it meets the requirements for my intended stay in Spain. I have also submitted support requests, but I have not received a substantive response or a practical solution.

My visa appointment at BLS is on 15 October 2026, and I urgently need guidance to resolve this issue. I cannot afford to lose the money I paid for unused coverage or risk my visa application because my request has gone unanswered.
I understand that customer support teams can be busy, but this is a time-sensitive matter with serious consequences for me. I am asking Swisscare to please review my case urgently, respond today, and provide a clear and practical solution.
I hope Swisscare will take this complaint seriously and demonstrate the customer support that an international insurance provider should offer.

Good customer service, but eligibility should have been checked before issuing the policy
I purchased an international student insurance policy from Swisscare and paid the full premium. Later, after I contacted them to clarify the terms, Swisscare confirmed that the insured person was not eligible because the minimum entry age was 18.
This was disappointing because the correct date of birth had already been provided when the policy was issued.
However, the Swisscare Europe team handled the problem professionally once it was raised. They reviewed the case, cancelled the policy, processed a full refund of €219, and provided a refund receipt. The money was successfully returned to my account.
I appreciate the support from Yevgeniya and the Europe team. My main suggestion is that Swisscare should improve its eligibility checks during the application process so that policies are not issued to customers who do not meet the age requirements.

I'm really impressed and grateful for how promptly they handled my case. This is trustworthy and should work for your purposes. But one small point that needs to be cleared up is my correct name. I reminded them once, and I hope that they will write the customer's name more carefully. Other than that, everything is really great.

Cela fait plusieurs jours que je demande une attestation d'assurance voyage en français. J'ai envoyé trois e-mails ainsi qu'un message via le formulaire de contact, sans aucune réponse, ni même un accusé de réception. Un service client totalement absent, c'est très décevant.

Mi sono trovata benissimo, ho attivato una polizza per studenti all'estero. Alta professionalità e disponibilità.

I had the worst travel insurance experience with them.
Staff is completely uncooperative, I got robbed whilst travelling in Barcelona and provided every detail including police certificates and details of the experience.
Swisscare rejected my claim initially requesting for another document, I went through weeks of hassle to get more documentation, then they rejected it on other basis, I got further documentation from the Catalunya police and then the reason for Swisscare rejecting my claim yet again changed.
Please don’t sign up with them.

(Also, their insurance handlers time and time again did not follow the correct procedures and got the timeframes etc wrong)
