Everything about our trip was fabulous. The guides were great, especially Jean-Rene who led us through Kenya. We saw all the animals we hoped to see in both Kenya and Tanzania. The accommodations we stayed in were great and the food was plentiful and delicious. Our trip was well planned by Joseline and there were no surprises along the way. The wifi at some lodges was a bit slow but was manageable and we generally had access to the outside world. If we decide to return for another safari we would definitly use Tanzania Specialist to book our trip.

My husband and I went on safari for our honeymoon and had an amazing experience from beginning to end. Rodgers and Prince helped us plan our experience and they were both very responsive with our many questions, communicated everything very well, and picked amazing lodges for us to stay at. Penuel was our tour guide and I can not say enough about him! He was incredibly knowledgeable about animals, plants, Maasai, and Tanzania. He was very pleasant to be around and we had a great time with him. Everyday he asked what animals we wanted to see, and everyday we were able to see all of them! Penuel has such a good eye, he pointed out several animals that we would have completely missed otherwise since they blend in with the environment. He also communicated with the staff at lodges that I am vegetarian so that they would pack me vegetarian food for lunches. If I ever come back for another safari I would want Penuel to be my guide again and I will absolutely recommend him to others.

Everything was absolutely perfect. Everything that Tanzania specialist planned for us could not have been more perfect, from the itineraries, to the lodges, also to the drivers and staff, and especially our safari guide and driver, Kishe. Kishe is a special person with a ton of knowledge and I would highly recommend future safari travelers to ask for him directly, you will not be disappointed. He made our trip extra special. Thank you Kishe and Tanzania specialist for a trip of a lifetime and a lifetime of memories.

Our safari was wonderful! We approached this as a once in a lifetime trip, but after it's over, I am totally open to the possibility of doing it again! It was amazing, and in our twelve days, we saw just about everything we had hoped to see.

Our guide Daniel was helpful and attentive, and clearly demonstrated why the tour guide profession is so competitive and respected in Tanzania. Driving in Tanzania is no joke, and his skilled driving and knowledge of the parks kept us safe and on time. All Tanzania Specialist vehicles all appeared to be in good condition (important because of the rough roads) and Daniel thoroughly cleaned the vehicle inside and out every night so it was ready to go each morning. He was in regular contact with other guides to find and share sightings that we’d be interested in. He was always considerate of park rules, other guides, and their clients (if they looked like they needed help, he’d check in and offer it). We really appreciated his help in our pursuit of bird watching (103 new to us species!) and appreciate the early starts and sometimes long days.

The tour guides with Foot on Africa in Mto wa Mbu for the night game drive (Ely and Shine) and the village bike ride (Ossam) were top-notch. They were very good representatives of their village and industry.

Staff at all of our accommodations were always friendly and helpful; always. When booking, we had asked for accommodations with running water (showers, toilets), with as much luxury as our budget could allow. I think we were slightly better than mid-level, dipping our toe into high-level? I REALLY enjoyed our tent camps (Serengeti Sound of Silence, Lake Burunge Baobab Tented Lodge, Gnu Mara Migration Camp, Embalakai Authentic Ngorongoro Camp) and if I were to do it again, I’d opt for tented camps as much as possible and minimize the lodges…you can stay in a lodge anywhere; safari tent camping is central to the experience (or at least what I had always dreamed the experience to be).

At a few of the smaller camps, our dinner table was set to include us and our guide. While we were fine having dinner with him, after a long day, I think it's understandable that he or we might have wanted a little down-time alone or with other people at dinner. I would suggest that Tanzania Specialists encourage guides/clients/the camp to discuss if guides and clients would like to eat dinner together rather than presuming.

There were a couple small negatives on the trip, but something that other prospective clients should keep in mind. The tour guides on two of our side trips were not particularly honest. A guide on day 1 pushed us to specific, persistent vendors with what we now know were quite high prices, and a guide on a cultural visit told our main guide he had to stay behind and then pressured us to pay an extra tip to the village chief. When I asked Daniel later, he told us that no extra tips for village chiefs were required (the village members are paid through the tour fee; any additional tip is purely voluntary), and apologized for the guide's behavior.

As a final note, I hope that Tanzania Specialists begins to actively encourage and develop female safari guides. From what I could gather, it’s not legal reasons that prevent women in the profession, but cultural norms. Culture takes a long time to change, of course, but hiring women into this respected profession is the right thing to do. Tanzania Specialists is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, tour operator in Tanzania, and they could definitely help to make this change.

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Tanzania Specialist, and much of that was thanks to Olosotu Raposhi, our travel consultant.

From our very first discussion through the booking process and right up until the day we travelled, Olosotu was attentive, professional, and always available to answer any questions. He made sure we were fully prepared and had everything we needed to enjoy a seamless and unforgettable holiday.

From the moment we landed in Tanzania, everything ran smoothly and exactly to schedule. We felt well-informed throughout, and every member of the team we encountered was kind, welcoming, and attentive.

A special mention must go to our guide, Agri-chas (apologies if I've misspelled his name). He was simply outstanding. An incredibly experienced driver and guide, he took the time to understand exactly what we hoped to see and never disappointed. We often joked that he had superhero eyesight because he could spot animals from incredible distances! Thanks to his expertise, there wasn't much that we didn't see during our safari.

We were even fortunate enough to witness the Great Migration, something that can never be guaranteed and made our trip even more magical. We will always be grateful to him for creating such a memorable and truly special experience.

Tanzania is a beautiful country filled with wonderful people, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts. Based on our experience, and from conversations with other travellers we met during our trip, Tanzania Specialist is, in our opinion, the best safari provider available.

We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a safari holiday, and we sincerely hope to have the opportunity to return one day.

The booking process and communication was excellent. Prices competitive. The quality of the accommodation was as expected. The mechanical maintenance on the vehicle seemed to be excellent. The itinerary gave us the time required to see all the animals. The driver tended to hang back, especially at the river crossings and lacked communication, but did his best to get us to all the sightings.

From the planning at the start through to the safari itself, we couldn’t fault this company. Great communication, well organised throughout and an excellent guide Elisha who was very knowledgeable, cheerful and professional and a very good driver, we felt safe all the time. All accommodation good as was the food.

Tanzania Specialist have the largest safari jeeps or the fleet in that area & based prominently in the Arusha city. So, no chance of any disruption. They have full proof backups.
Their payment system from EU/Netherlands via Rabo Bank is a bit dubious. I landed up paying so much hidden extra charges. I booked so many other hotels & tours via Expedia etc & did not pay any extra or hidden charges during my long tour.
I booked a 5 day safari from 2nd Sept to 6th Sept 2026. But actually, there isn't anything or safari at the last day. It is just picking you up from the last hotel in the morning & dropping you at Arusha or nearby which could have been done the previous afternoon.
So, for a 4 day safari I paid over $2000 or $500 per day. This is a bit expensive I suppose!
The food & accommodations were ok. The jeep & the guide/driver was ok.

My wife and I booked our once in a lifetime trip with Tanzania Specialist. We started with a hike to Kilimanjaro, we had the best team on the mountain. The service that was provided in very difficult environments was to the highest possible standard. The equipment was phenomenal. The food was fantastic. The moral support was incredible and the expertise and attention to safety was second to none. Afterwards, my wife and I went on a seven day Safari through a number of national parks as well as to watch the great migration. Everything was extremely well organized. I wished the driver and guide would provide more information about the animals, but our guide did when we asked questions and we had a great experience.

Our guide was excellent. He made sure we arrived on time for the viewing of the herds. I can now say that what I saw on TV is much better when looking at it in person. The whole plan was excellent and I plan to go back in the future.

Booking the trip was easy & Joseline was in contact till we started our journey.
Lodges, & hotels were exceptional even though we chose mid range some were luxurious!!
Delicious dinners & packed lunches were great.

Our guide Remi Obedi Mollel was superb. We had a great time with him almost like a family member. He was so friendly, absolutely a safe driver, passionate about his job as a guide and helpful. We never felt rushed during any of the outings.
He made sure we got to see the famous crossings not once but 4 times which was a high light.
We would definitely recommend Remi to all our friends.

The best travel experience we had. Alice helped us organize the trip and did an exceptional job. Simon our driver was the best, he took absolute care of us especially our aged parents who travelled with us. His driving skills , his understanding of animal behavior and his absolute commitment to care nature helped us see some rare sightings. Thank you Alice, Simon for making our trip most wonderful one. I have to also mention all the Tanzanian hotel staff and people we met including the immigration officers were gems, very kind and compassionate. Thank you Tanzania. You are highly recommended 😀

2) The guide (Innocent T) was excellent. He was professional, knowledgeable and skilled at spotting wildlife.

We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The company was very professional and reliable, everything was always on time, and the entire trip went smoothly without any issues. The locations and accommodations they arranged for us were amazing, and the overall itinerary was very well organized.

Our guide, Karim, was fantastic! He was kind, punctual, attentive, and always willing to help. He also shared so much interesting information throughout the safari, which made the experience even more special.

The only thing I would suggest improving is the comfort of the safari vehicle. Since the distances between locations can be very long and the roads quite rough, a vehicle with better suspension would have made those long drives much more comfortable. Our vehicle felt particularly stiff at times.

Other than that, everything was great. We felt well taken care of throughout the entire trip and had an unforgettable experience. Tanzania and the safari were absolutely incredible, and I would definitely recommend this company!

Incredibly well organised operation, everything flowed beautifully. Our safari guide, Eckbel, was sensational. We always felt safe and Eckbel knew the answer to every question we asked. The safari cruiser was comfortable and roomy. The accommodations were all beautiful, however the service as Sounds of Serengeti seemed a bit chaotic/disorganised (like they were understaffed or inexperienced).

The only reason we haven't given 5 stars is because we feel that Tanzania Specialist oversells how special they make Honeymooners stays on their website. We specifically decided to book with TS due to the promise of making Honeymooners feel special. However, we received no recognition from TS that it was our Honeymoon except just a note on the top of our itinerary. The first 3 hotels we stayed at also made no recognition which we found a little more disappointing when we discovered TS owns 2 of those 3. Once we moved over to Zanzibar to privately owned hotels we did receive those little touches to make our Honeymoon feel special, but we feel that TS put in no effort whatsoever.

We wouldn't let that stop us recommending TS to others looking to book a standard trip just maybe not a Honeymoon.

My husband and I both thought this trip was exceptional. It was organized and perfectly arranged. we really loved it and would definitely work with TS again if we had the chance. The drivers/guides were exceptional, the hotels were great. It was easy to get things arranged before we went, even from the US. Really a 5 star outfit.

We had an absolutely amazing trip to Tanzania, beautifully organized by Tanzania Specialist. From the planning stage to the experience itself, everything was handled with great care and professionalism.

And a very special mention to our guide Emanuel, who made our experience truly unforgettable. His professionalism, extensive knowledge, excellent sense of humor and consistently good mood made every day a pleasure. We particularly appreciated his deep respect for nature, wildlife and the ethical principles of responsible tourism.

We felt in very safe and capable hands throughout the entire trip, while also learning so much about Tanzania, its wildlife and its people.

Our guide made our experience the best. Eben was incredible. Truly. He was top notch, and exceeded every expectation we had.

The planning portion with Jescka was also great. She was lovely, and it was good. The app was nice, and I was happy up until the time we got there, but once we got there, our experiences with Kelvin on day one and the last day, and the Eben during our trip was was took this to a 5 star rating. Our accommodations were amazing (except one), the food, the safari experiences. . . . excellent.

My safari and trip to Zanzibar organised by Tanzania Specialist was outstanding .
The trip was extremely well organised, taking into account what we want to see and experience . There was a lot of communication with the team in Arusha , before we left for Tanzania.
Once in Tanzania we were given contact details of an agent in Arusha and Zanzibar. But this wasn’t needed as our guide Yasin what absolutely awesome .
We saw the big five on numerous occasions , but also the ugly 5.
Yasin seemed to really understand where to find even the most difficult animals to see. And to end a memorable and fantastic week we witnessed 2 Mara river crossings. The first crossing was huge- a real tv moment . But this was down to Yasin, he seemed to understand exactly where to look and wait for the wilderbeast . And our patience paid off .
The hotels, tented camps were all excellent . Special mention however for The Best View hotel, the sound of silence camp and the queens hotel in Zanzibar .
To finish I just need to say that the people in Tanzania and Zanzibar are the happiest group of people I have ever met.

It was extremely exciting and well organised.
